BATISTE, THELMA WALTER 

Thelma Walter Batiste, 52, a resident and native of Franklin, died Friday, 
October 23, 2015, at 2:36 a.m., at Dauterive Hospital in New Iberia following a 
short illness.

Visitations will be observed Saturday, Oct. 31, from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m., at 
Otis Mortuary Chapel.

Burial rites will be read Saturday, at 2 p.m., at the mortuary, with Pastor 
Frank Jackson officiating. 

Interment will follow in the St. John Cemetery on Pecot St. in Franklin.

Survivors include two daughters, Thelvia Batiste Bourgeois and Niecey Batiste, 
both of Franklin; five brothers, Eugene Walter and Dallas Walter, both of 
Jeanerette, George Bolden of New Orleans, Darrell Walter of Miami, FL and 
Freddie Williams of Franklin; two sisters, Niecey Walter and Dianna Walter, 
both of Franklin; and seven grandchildren.

The Otis Mortuary of Franklin is in charge of preparations.
