Bodin Sr. will be celebrated Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at 1:00 PM at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin. He will be laid to rest in Franklin Cemetery. Father Lloyd Benoit will conduct the services. A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday at Ibert's from 11:00 AM until time of service, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 12:30 PM, led by his granddaughter, Becky Haydel. Serving as pallbearers will be Deborah Verdin, Kevin Paul Verdin, Thomas Bodin Jr., Paul Bodin, C.J. Buteau, and Torrey Haydel. Mr. Bodin was a native of Jeanerette and a resident of Franklin for the past 69 years, who passed away at the age of 89 on Friday, October 2, 2015, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. A skilled carpenter, Mr. Bolden built his own home from the ground up, where he made a life with his wife and children. His passions in life were fishing, hunting, and most importantly spending time with his family, especially for crab-boils and BB-Q's. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his four children, Patricia B. Verdin, Bolden Bodin Jr. and his wife Penny G., Jacqueline B. Buteau and her husband Curris, and Thomas Bodin Sr. and his wife Patrice; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 8 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Landry Bodin; a great grandchild, Lawrence Haydel; his parents, Denis and Antoinette Bodin; three brothers and a sister; and a son-in-law, Paul Verdin.
