"Jack" Jones Sr., a native of Mayport, Florida and a resident of Patterson since 1945, who passed away at the age of 88 on Thursday, October 8, 2015, at the Patterson Health Care Center. He will be laid to rest with his late wife in the St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum in Patterson. Msgr. J. Douglas Courville, JCL will conduct the services. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday at Ibert's from 11:00 AM until time of service. Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob L. "Jack" Jones Jr., Blake Chaisson, Casey Jones, Everette Boudreaux, Donnie Jumonville, and Shannon Freeman. Mr. Jack worked for many years with Tidewater Marine as a tugboat captain. After retiring from Tidewater he went to work driving hotshot trucks, until fully retiring in 1992. His favorite pastimes were fishing and going to the camp. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his three children, Daisy J. Boudreaux, Jacob L. "Jack" Jones, Jr., and Celeste J. Jumonville and her husband Donald; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Patricia Patin Jones; his parents, Seabron Jones and Daisy May Mayers Jones; five siblings, Helen, Estelle, Seabron, Doc, and Vincent; and two grandchildren.
