He will be buried in Godman Cemetery, Charenton, LA. Rev. Ronald Southall will officiate the service. Visitation will be Saturday, October 17, 2015,10:00 AM until the time of service at Trinity UMC. Rodney George Lee, was born in Baldwin, La, December 5, 1948, to Rodney Lee Jr. & Agnes Duncan Lee. Rodney was educated in the public school system. From a young age, Rodney was always a high energy person who loved being outdoors and helping people. While in high school, he was a football standout known as TANK. He graduated from Young Memorial Technical School with a degree in Marine Diesel. He worked for Schlemberger and Tidewater Marine service in Morgan City, La. Rodney moved to Houston in 1970 and worked for Trinity and Bellows Construction Company for nearly 40 years. Rodney had a passion for mechanic work on all types of vehicles, whether boats, cars, trucks, heavy equipment, no job was too big or small. Rodney loved his family and helping others. He found his soulmate and partner for life, Emma (Ruby) C. Lee, at the age 22. His favorite pastime was sitting outside with his best friend, Symone, going on casino trips with his childhood friend, Malcolm, playing computer casino games, peddling around and as he would say "guarding the building." Rodney's life-long project with his cousin, brother and best friend Harry Lee Thomas was planning to restore their Ford Model A cars. Death has once again come to claim its own. This chapter of Rodney Lee’s life is over. Rodney departed life on October 4, 2015, at the Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes Duncan, father Rodney Lee Jr., and one brother. He survived by his wife Emma (Ruby) Lee; daughter, Shannon (Courvoisier) Payne; two grandchildren, Shatanya Simms and Dave’on Hines; sister, Irma Lee; brothers, Wilmer T. Lee, and James M. Lee; three aunts; Marguerite Barnes , Josephine Edmonds , Pearl Lewis; mother in-law Mary S. Carson; brother in-law, George (Evangeline) Carson; sister in-laws Edna Pouncy, Geraldine Anderson, Della (Kenneth Sr.) Bellard, Lydia (Bobby) Bias , Joy(Ronald) Taylor, Penny Anderson, Sheila Anderson ; god sons, Kenneth Bellard Jr. and Devon Blackmon; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
