Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2015/sm1511.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Funeral services for Roy Charles Millet Sr. will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at St. Jules Catholic Church in Franklin during a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian burial. He will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery. Father Peter Emusa will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services. The family will receive friends on Monday at Ibert's Mortuary from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM. Visitations will resume at Ibert's on Tuesday beginning at 8:00 AM and continue until time of dismissal at 1:30 PM. Mr. Roy was a native of Plaquemine and a longtime resident of Franklin who passed away at the age of 90 at his home on Thursday, November 19, 2015. He had a love of being on the water and that love crossed over into two lifelong careers, law enforcement and commercial fishing. He started in his early years working with the Franklin Police Department and then went on to work for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office, first as a patrolman and then as water patrol, all the while working as a commercial fisherman and shrimper. He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Ophelia Sauce Millet; four children, Lola Millet Stovall and her husband James Sr., Berinda Millet Robicheaux and her husband Robert Sr., Paget Millet Thibodaux and her husband James, and Roy C. Millet, Jr.; ten grandchildren, Lola "Lulu" S. Frederick and her husband Brent, Tammy S. Bodin and her husband Kevin, James "Buddy" Stovall Jr. and his wife Laurie, and Suzette S. Desormeaux, Benjamin "Benji" Robicheaux and his wife Kellye, Robert Robicheaux Jr. and his companion Angie LeBlanc, Tonia R. LaJaunie, Jacob Thibodaux, Joseph Thibodaux, and Melissa Millet; 19 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Millet; his mother and step- father, Edna Ayo Millet Stevens and Adler Stevens; and three brothers, Frank, Warren "Bozo", and Harold Millet. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Heart of Hospice – Bayou Region, 14777 Highway 90 West Frontage Road, Franklin, LA The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Mr. Roy's caregivers, Jessica Glenn and her daughter, Jazlynn "Fefe" Moore, as well as the staff of Heart of Hospice.
