Charles Edward Pearce, a native of Bayou Cheyne and a longtime resident of 
Bayou Vista, went to his heavenly reward November 15, 2015 at the age of 90.

Charles was known to all as a man after God's own heart, a kind man who truly 
gave his all to any one in need. He was a charter member of Bayou Vista Baptist 
Church, a longtime member of Gideon's International, and a Master Mason for 
over 65 years. He also served on the Board of Directors of Acadian Baptist 
Center. Charles was the 1st lay choir director of Bayou Vista Baptist Church. A 
welder by trade, he was the oldest practicing welder of The Plumbers and 
Steamfitters Local Union 198.

Charles leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife of 62 years Glynn Ward 
Pearce, daughter Karen Gillen and husband Lee, four sons Carlton Pearce and 
wife Shelia, Milton, Dale and David Pearce, seven grandchildren, 15 great 
grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Christine Kelly Pearce, 
and a sister Rita Pearce Miller.

A home going celebration will be held at Bayou Vista Baptist Church Saturday, 
November 21, 2015. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am, with 
services beginning at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Charles Pearce to Bayou 
Vista Baptist Church Building Fund, 411 Field Rd., Morgan City, LA 70380 or 
Acadian Baptist Center, 1202 Academy Dr., Eunice, LA
