Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2015/sm1511.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Funeral services celebrating the life of Verona Reed Vidrine will be held Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson during a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian burial. She will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum. Father Herb Bennerfield will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday at Ibert's Mortuary in Patterson from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with a wake service and recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitations will resume Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 8:00 AM and continue until time of Mass. Mrs. Vidrine was a native of Mamou and a resident of Patterson for the past 41 years. She was a devout Catholic and a longtime active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson, where she was an Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister and brought Communion to the homebound. She passed away at the age of 73 on Sunday, November 8, 2015, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette following a brief illness. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Patrick R. Vidrine; three children, Kenneth W. Vidrine of Patterson, Becky V. McNeese of Youngsville, and Leah V. Simmons and her husband Stan of Scott; five grandchildren, Glenn McNeese, Jason McNeese, Ashley Simmons, Sydney Vidrine, and Kenan Vidrine; three sisters, Priscilla Redman, Gloria Stephenson and her husband Jimmy, and Kaye LaCoste and her husband Warren; a sister-in-law and her husband, Elaine and Turner Landreneau; a brother-in-law and his wife, Gene and Marcia Vidrine; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace Reed and Vernice Chapman Reed; a brother-in-law, Paul Redman; and a sister-in-law and her husband, Linda and Louis Thompson. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church, PO Box 219, Patterson, LA 70392, for Masses to be said in her memory.
