Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2015/sm1512.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Franklin during an 11:00 AM service with Holy Eucharist for James P. "Jim" Evans IV, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Franklin for the past ten years, who passed away at the age of 46 on Friday, December 11, 2015. He will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery. Rev. Stephen Crawford will officiate the services. A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday at Ibert's Mortuary from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Jim dedicated his life to the service of others. He exuded compassion and strength in his work as a mental health professional at Teche Action Clinic and in his many volunteer roles. At the time of his death, he was serving as a Lay Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, as President of the Franklin Rotary Club, and as Cubmaster of Pack 300 of Chitimacha District of the Evangeline Council of Boy Scouts of America, and was a member of St. Mary Chapter of Louisiana Landmarks Society. Previously, he had served as Scoutmaster for Troop 1 and as Senior Warden of St. Mary's Episcopal Church. He was a true son of New Orleans, rarely missing a Saints game with his father. He was a member of The Boston Club of New Orleans and an active and enthusiastic participant in the Mardi Gras tradition, being a member of several Carnival Organizations both in New Orleans and Franklin. He especially enjoyed his role as one of the Dancin' D'awlins of Krewe d'Etat. Jim also had a life- long passion for sailing. He was a graduate of the Lawrenceville School. He was awarded a B.S. degree by the University of Colorado, a MCSW degree by The University of Texas and a MBA by Louisiana State University. He is survived by his wife, Adriane Kramer Evans; daughter, Amoret Frère Evans; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James P. Evans III (Shannon); his sister, Kelsey E. Rivera and her children Gustavo A. Rivera Jr. and Maimee Lee L. Rivera; and parents-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Kramer (Glenna). He was preceded in death by his son, Edward Parker Evans.
