She was born September 7, 1924 at Bayou Chene, La. and was a longtime resident of Centerville, La. Visitation will be Sunday, January 17, 5 - 8 PM at Ibert's Mortuary, Franklin, La. and from 1-2 PM Monday, January 18, at Calvary Bible Church in Centerville with service to follow at 2 PM. Interment will be in Centerville Presbyterian Cemetery. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Gail of Centerville and Jacqueline Drinkwater Maginnis of Baton Rouge; one son David Lee and wife Judy of Franklin; seven grandchildren, Deana Drinkwater Young (Michael), Benjamin Drinkwater (Stephanie), Olivia Drinkwater, Elizabeth Drinkwater Singer (Talmadge), Christine Drinkwater, Caroline Drinkwater Eenigenburg (Jon), and Juliane Drinkwater Brentlinger (Craig); 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters- in-law; Maisie Bunch Ashley, Sharon Endicott Drinkwater White and Karen Bourgoyne Drinkwater; and one brother-in-law, Charles Elza Drinkwater. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Ray; a son, James Earl; her parents, James Newton and Carrie Alberta Mire Ashley; one sister, Bernice; and five brothers, Roy, Fred, Calvin, Victor, and Eddie. The family would like to express their gratitude for the care given by Dr. Roland Degeyter and staff, Franklin Foundation Hospital staff, Franklin Home Health, Kathy Carline Rhodes and Pamela Carline Brice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Centerville Presbyterian Foundation, P.O. Box 343, Centerville, La. 70522, for preservation of the Centerville Cemetery.
