He will be buried in Sorrel Community Cemetery. Rev. Carl F. Lewis will officiate the service. Visitation will be Saturday, January 16, 2016, 12:00 Noon until the time of service at MK DIXON Funeral Home. Wilbert Daniel Green departed this life on Saturday, January 9, 2016 in Port Arthur, Texas. Wilbert was the youngest born on June 14, 1939 to the late Louise Green in Charenton, LA. He accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age by Rev. Albert Teno. Wilbert was a hardworking laborer who worked to support his family in Jeanerette, LA at J & L Engineering Services and then he moved to Port Arthur, Texas in 1969 where he was employed at Port Iron & Supply until his retirement. Wilbert was a man with an eccentric personality. He had an assertive spirit but yet one that was rooted in love. He enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling, the westerns and his favorite was the love of baseball particularly the “Texas Astros”. The love that he displayed for his daughters was shown from a distant nature but it did not hinder his devotion to his beloveds. He was a member of the Royal Masters Masonry in Port Arthur, TX for many years. One of Wilbert’s favorite delicatessens was his love of Homemade Vegetable Soup. His memory will be cherished by his two daughters: Stephanie Renee Green Jones of Franklin, LA and Pamela Denise Green of New Iberia, LA; three grandchildren: Justin Jevon Green, Courtney Sharay Thomas both of New Iberia, LA, and Garrett DeJon Foulcard of Franklin, LA, one great grandchild: Jerzi Janae Green of New Iberia, LA; three sisters: Mary Francis Brown of Port Arthur, TX, Flora Mae Ireland of Franklin, LA and Clara Bell Lewis of Jeanerette, LA; and one godchild: Stacey Marks-Parker of Jeanerette, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
