Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2016/sm1602.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Marvin Godfrey Besse Jr., 68, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 at his home. Marvin was born on March 17, 1947 in Morgan City, the son of Marvin G. Besse Sr. and Anita Duval Besse. Marvin was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints and the LSU Fighting Tigers and never missed a chance to watch the game on tv. He enjoyed riding his bicycle places and also loved traveling to the many festivals in the area. He loved going to church and was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In his younger years Marvin would dress up as Santa Claus and would go visit the local nursing homes to brighten the residents day. Of all the things that Marvin enjoyed doing in his life the one thing that he loved the most was spending time with his family and enjoying the numerous family get togethers. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three siblings, Larry Besse and wife Brenda, Patricia Ann Besse Stelly, and Allen Dale Besse all of Morgan City; numerous nieces, nephews and God Children. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin G. Besse Sr. and Anita Duval Besse; step-mother, Isabelle Vining Besse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a visitation being held from 10:00 a.m. until Mass time at noon. Following Mass Marvin will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery. ===================
