Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2016/sm1602.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Funeral services for Mr. Leroy Eugene Naquin Sr. will be held Monday, February 15, 2016, at the Church of the Assumption in Franklin during a 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial. He will be laid to rest in the Franklin Cemetery. Monsignor J. Douglas Courville, JCL will be the Celebrant for the Mass with Father Lloyd Benoit concelebrating. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Naquin, Leroy Naquin Jr., Seth Vaughn, Dylan Vaughn, Jeremy Chaisson, and Robert Cameron. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Naquin, Donald Naquin, and Patrick Cameron. A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday at the Church of the Assumption from 11:00 a.m. until Mass time, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 1:30 p.m. Leroy was born to the late Anatole John Naquin Sr. and the late Marcelite Olivier Naquin in Franklin, where he was raised. At 18 years of age he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and honorably served his God, country, and fellow man during World War II. He served in the Pacific Theater and during the occupation of Japan. Following his service in the Marines, he married the love of his life, Mercedes LeBlanc and the two began raising their family. They were former residents of Patoutville, Bayou Vista, and Youngsville for various lengths of time, and have resided in Berwick for the past six and a half years. He was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Berwick. Some of his favorite pastimes were hunting and just simply being outdoors, enjoying God's creation. On Thursday, February 11, 2016, at the age of 89, he passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his wife of 62 years, Mercedes LeBlanc Naquin; their six children, Robert Naquin and his partner Marty Greeson, Michael Naquin and his wife Tina, Leroy Naquin Jr. and his wife Tammy, Catherine N. Vaughn and her husband Thomas, Cynthia N. Chaisson and her husband Joseph, and Suzanne N. Cameron and her husband Robert; 13 grandchildren, Melissa Naquin, Lauren Foulks, Donald Naquin, Miranda Jordan, Kayla Janik, Sarah Naquin, Amber Vaughn, Seth Vaughn, Dylan Vaughn, Jeremy Chaisson, Morgan Chaisson, Anna Cameron, and Patrick Cameron; six great grandchildren, Alan, Rachel, Adam, Landon, Seth Jr., and Owen; his sister, Barbara N. Gorman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Naquin; two grandchildren, Joshua Naquin and Collin Cameron; two sisters, Ruby Naquin and Pearl N. Hebert; and three brothers, Anatole John Naquin Jr., Raymond "Nookie" Naquin, and Charles Naquin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc US Marines ===================
