Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2016/sm1603.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Lester Joseph Aucoin, a native of Labadieville and a longtime resident of Calumet, passed away at the age of 79 on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Lester was a veteran of the United States Army, retired from the City of Patterson as Gas Superintendent after many years of dedicated service, and was owner and operator of the Wax Lake Landing in Calumet. Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his sons, Robbie Aucoin and his wife Robbi of Chandler, OK and Mike Aucoin and his wife Shelia of Ricohoc; one brother, Willie Aucoin and his wife Pat of Morgan City; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Sue Burnett Aucoin; two sons, Howard P. Aucoin and Mark A. Aucoin; his parents, Eddie Aucoin and Zulma Gros Aucoin; as well as two sisters and seven brothers. A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Ibert's Mortuary in Patterson from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m., with Deacon Joey Lirette officiating. He will be laid to rest with his wife in Ibert's Memorial Park Cemetery, with Military Honors rendered by the Louisiana National Guard and the East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad. Serving as pallbearers will be Robbie Aucoin, Mike Aucoin, Willie Aucoin, Neil Cook, Derrick Morris, and Kerry Aucoin.
