Elmer was a shrimper for 42 years and during his shrimping career captained the Pat & Joe, The Flea, The Francille and the Miss Sena. He loved to sit and relax and watch his westerns and football on TV. Elmer loved spending time with his family as his family was his whole world. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Elvira Vonheuvel Hicks of Berwick; six daughters, Carmen Annette Crochet of Bayou Vista, Alice Marie Wagner of Roseville Mich., Cynthia Elmaline Hicks of Osceola, Fl., Virginia Ann LeBlanc of Stephensville, Sena Loraine Latiolais of Church Point, Mattie Landry of Morgan City; 18 grandchildren, Tobey, Cassie, Patricia, Mark, Karessa, Ariele, Emily, Taylor, Faith , Justin, Andrew, Destiny, Christopher, Kaitlyn, Gwen, Maggie, Alexandria, McKenzie; 14 great grandchildren, Adon, Ella, Justin, Dewayne, Abigail, Hunter, Patrick, Bailey, Afton, Lucas, Raylie, Delana, Gabriel, Haydon, Jasmine, Erik.
