Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2016/sm1604.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, sister, and friend to all, Sandra Ann Rulz Cooper "Ma San: died peacefully in Houma, La on April 11th, 2016 at the age of 74. Ma San was born October 23rd, 1941 in Baton Rouge, LA to Edward Ruiz Jr. and Lucille Major "Baby Lou" Ruiz. She married her former husband and continued friend, Clarence Cooper, and the oilfield brought them to Morgan City. While caring for her family, Ma San began working at Jonston Brothers in Patterson as the office manager/bookkeeper. She thoroughly enjoyed her work, and even more so enjoyed the company of her dearest friends she worked with, especially her best friend of more that 50 years, Paula Crouch. Ma San will always be remembered as someone who loved nothing more than to put a smile on the face's of her friends and family. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a contagious laugh and enjoyed spreading her joy and laughter to all. She loved to cook and bake and could always be counted on to have a delicious meal prepared whenever her family was together. She will most fondly be remembered as someone who fiercely loved everyone who was lucky enough to know her. Ma San is survived by her two children, Chris Cooper and his wife Shirley of Morgan City; and her daughter Crystal Roy of Centerville. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jennifer Cooper Wylie, her husband Doug, and their son Nathan, of Baton Rouge; Jonathan Cooper, his wife Jennifer and their children Little Chris and Mackenzie, of Patterson; and Kailyn Roy Daniel, her husband Doug, and their daughter Caroline, of Lafayette. She also leaves behind her brother, Edward Ruiz III and her sister, Winslyn Hano, both of Baton Rouge, her three nieces Ronalyn Hano, Sh'Rhele McGee, and Jamie McCallister, and their children and grand-children. Ma San is proceeded in death by her parents, Edward and Lucille Ruiz; her son- in-law, Maxie Roy Jr., and his mother and Ma San's longtime friend, Marie Roy. Services are scheduled Thursday, April 14, 2016 with visitation 9am-11am with services following immediately after at Hargrave Funeral Home.
