Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2016/sm1604.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Leroy Paul Dumesnil Sr., a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, passed away early Saturday morning, April 9, 2016, at his home. Soup, as he was affectionately known, was the sixth of eight children born to the late Henry Joseph Dumesnil Sr. and the late Annie Boudreaux Dumesnil. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II in Europe. Survivors include his children, Leroy Paul Dumesnil Jr. and his wife Kelly, Toni D. Badeaux and her husband Clarence Jr., and Donna F. Dumesnil; his sisters, Gloria D. Garlotte and Barbara D. Haire; six grandchildren, Larry Boudreaux Jr., Ricky A. Boudreaux and his wife Amanda, Rebekah D. Ford and her husband Robert, Brandi B. Martin and her husband Steven, Courtney J. Badeaux and his fiancée Lillian, and Megan M. Dumesnil; 13 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia D. Boudreaux; his son, Donald Ray Dumesnil; and his siblings, Henry Joseph Dumesnil Jr., Genevieve D. Falterman, Nellie D. Gottschalk, Freddie Dumesnil, and Grace D. LeBouef. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at Ibert's Mortuary from 9:00 a.m. until time of service, with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 11:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held at Ibert's at 1:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors in the Perpetual Park Cemetery. Father Lloyd Benoit will conduct the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Leroy P. Dumesnil Jr., Clarence Badeaux Jr., Larry Boudreaux Jr., Courtney Badeaux, Robert Ford, and Steven Martin.
