Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2016/sm1604.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Lee Ann Borel Mire, a native and lifelong resident of Franklin, passed away at the age of 81 on Saturday morning, April 16, 2016, at the Franklin Health Care Center following a long battle with Alzheimer's. Lee Ann was born on February 24, 1935 to the late Clarence Borel and the late Elva Poche Borel Perry. A loving daughter, wife, mother, step-mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many, Lee Ann was also an avid reader and loved animals beyond comparison. She was a Co-Founder of the Krewe of Agmaroil in Franklin, was a longtime former bookkeeper for Franklin Flower Shop, the City of Franklin, and Hope Haven. She also was an ombudsman for St. Mary Parish nursing homes. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her children, Mike Mire and his wife Carmelita, Monique Mire McMillan and her husband Terry, Minette Mire Giraud and her husband Al, Diane Mire Nix and her husband Mike, Danny Mire and his wife Sue, Maria Mire Cole and her husband Ronnie, John Mire, Sr. and his wife Debbie, and David Mire and his wife Cindy; 18 grandchildren, Scott Mire and his wife Nicole and their son Logan, Liz and David Giraud, Hal, Trent, and Chris Gilley, Aaron and Sunnie Mire, Corey, Todd, and Derek Cole, John Mire, Jr., Tricia Mire Ancelet, Mindy Mire Lewis, Eric, Denny, and Brian Mire, and Brittany Mire Sanders; and numerous great grandchildren. In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Joseph Mire, Jr.; and her step-father, Tony Perry. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Sunday, April 17, at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 7:00 p.m. Visiting will resume Monday, April 18, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville at 10:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday at St. Joseph at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest with her husband in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Father Ruben Primor will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Mire, David Giraud, Hal Gilley, Aaron Mire, John Mire Jr., Corey Cole, and Eric Mire. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made in Lee Ann's name to the St. Mary Parish Library / Memorial Dept., 206 Iberia St., Franklin, LA 70538.
