Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2016/sm1605.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Gabriel "Gabe" Bodin Jr., a native of Franklin and a 36 year resident of Gonzales, passed away at the Gonzales Healthcare Center on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at the age of 74, just 13 days shy of his 75th birthday. Gabe proudly served his God and Country in the United States Air Force for four years. He was employed with Cabot Corporation for 15 years and retired from Occidental Chemical in Convent, LA as an INE Technician in charge of planning and scheduling following 25 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, and many other wonderful things with his wife Joy. He will be missed deeply by his wife, family, and friends. Gabe is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Joy Rita Breaux Bodin; two sons, Michael Bodin, and Stephen Bodin and his wife Mala; one daughter, Madonna Bodin; two step-sons, Tim Raphael and his wife Tracy, and Tommy Raphael and his wife Cindy; seven grandchildren, Patrick, Carleigh, Ali, Chantelle, Brittany, Dustin, and Patsy; one great granddaughter, Breeanna; and his sister, Bonnie Bodin Thompson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gabriel Bodin Sr. and Violet Concienne Bodin; and his brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Janice Bodin. A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin beginning at 10:00 a.m., with funeral services being held at 1:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Baldwin.
