Sam, as she was affectionately known, was a member and employee of the Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana, of which she was very involved and was instrumental in the revitalization of the Chitimacha Language. She had a heart of gold and was well loved by her friends, family, and community. Some of her favorite pastimes were cooking and crossword puzzles. But her true passion in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Sam passed away at the age of 56 on Saturday, May 28, 2016, at Iberia Medical Center. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her daughters, Telah Robison and her husband Casey Robison, Desireé Rebert and her husband Paul Rebert Jr., Shayna Hines and her husband David Hines; five grandchildren, Brynn Robison, Tristyn Rebert, Liam Rebert, Ann Marie Hines, and Vivian Hines; three brothers, Burton Paul "Bub" Broussard and his wife Connie, Cory Compton and his wife Susan, and Robert Compton and his wife Robin; step-father, Sonny Compton; as well as five nieces and one nephew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Boutte; an infant son, Jaivis Caro; and a grandson, Keiland Rebert. Visitations will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Little Pass Baptist Church in Charenton from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Bobby Hodnett and Rev. Dr. Chris Holloway officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Chitimacha Mausoleum. Serving as pallbearers will be her brothers, Burton Paul "Bub" Broussard, Cory Compton, and Robert Compton, and her sons-in-law, Casey Robison, Paul Rebert Jr., and David Hines, with her grandson, Liam Rebert as honorary pallbearer. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Sam's name to the Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana for the Yaamahana's Natural Playground Project, PO Box 661, Charenton, LA 70523. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ibert's Mortuary, Inc., 1007 Main Street, Franklin, LA ===================
