Crowell Elementary and then Willow Street Elementary until her retirement in 1994. Martha was a devout Catholic, a parishioner at the Church of Assumption, and a member of the Catholic Daughters. She was very involved in the community, first working on a committee for Franklin's Sesquicentennial Celebration, was a member of the PTA at Crowell Elementary where she volunteered to work on various floats and the Mardi Gras Carnival, was a member of the Business & Professional Women's Association, organized the first Christmas Ceremony in Franklin, which she continued until she became ill. She was also a Co-Founder of Franklin's Krewe of Agmarol and was Chairman of the Sister Cities Organization under the leadership of Mayor Sam Jones, twinning with both Reunion Island, France, and Genappe, Belgium, which she visited multiple times. Martha was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Her hobbies included traveling, serving her community, shopping, visiting with family and friends, and cooking. Martha will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
