Barrilleaux Champagne, daughter of the late Henry "Cotton" Barrilleaux Jr. and Barbara Rivette Barrilleaux was born on November 18, 1945 in Franklin, Louisiana. She attended private school at St. John in Franklin, where she graduated in 1964. Sherry went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, surrounded by her loving family, after conquering her courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 70. She is survived by her three daughters, Michelle "Missy" Boudreaux and her husband Leon; Veronica "Ronnie" Rushing and her husband Henry; Dawn Landry and her husband Fred, two brothers, Ray Barrilleaux and Danny Barrilleaux and his wife Debbie, four grandchildren, Taryn Mayea and her husband Nick; Brandan Trahan and his wife Devan; and Chance and Gage Landry; and five great- grandchildren, Cameron, Sterlyn, and Grayson Mayea, and Elijah and Micah Trahan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sterling J. Champagne Jr., her parents, Henry "Cotton" Barrilleaux Jr. and Barbara Rivette Barrilleaux, her brother, Kerry Barrilleaux, as well as by a sister-in-law, Charl Barrilleaux. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and nurses of Journey Hospice for the loving and compassionate care given to Sherry in her time of need. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Ibert's Mortuary in Franklin, with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM. Visitations will continue on Friday, July 1, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Centerville from 9:00 AM until the time of service. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the church on Friday at 12:00 p.m., with Father Ruben Primor officiating. She will be laid to rest with her husband in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
