Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2016/sm1606.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Dolores Rita Mello, age 84, at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Church of the Assumption. Fr. Lloyd Benoit, Jr. will be the celebrant. Entombment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Ibert's Mortuary on Wednesday from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with the Rosary and Wake Service at 7:00 pm. Visiting will continue at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:00 am until 1:30 pm. Dolores was born October 29, 1931 in Franklin to the late Nelson Borel and Rita Parrah Borel and was one of six children. She passed away peacefully on June 4, 2016 at Iberia Medical Center, with her family at her side. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Horley Adam Mello Sr.; four children, Horley Adam Mello Jr. and his wife Rhonda of Franklin, Nelvin Mello and his wife Karen of Franklin, Celestine "Teen" Mello Neill and her husband James "Bubby" of Cumming, GA, and Nana Mello Doré and her husband Rusty of St. Martinville; one sister, Rita Mae Mello Borel of Franklin; six grandchildren, Clovis Mello, Joseph Mello, Ketzie DeGorostiza, Hallie Mello, Kelly Neill Evans, and Tabatha Doré; 14 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson Borel and Rita Parrah Borel; two brothers, Emile Borel and Lester Borel; and two sisters, Margie Sinitiere and Pearl Clements.
