One of a kind, Laura never met a stranger and was a truly compassionate person who always offered an open ear to anyone who confided in her. She adored being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She also adored her puppy, Sweety, who was her little girl and stayed by Laura's side until the very end. It was no secret that family meant everything to Laura who was always protecting and giving advice. She loved family gatherings, telling stories, dancing, and listening to French music. Laura took great pride in her French heritage and was known for always saying, "Love others as I have loved you, that is what God says to do". While her 85 year journey was long, it now seems short. You will be missed and always loved until we meet again Mama, we love you. Left to cherish her memory is Laura's loving husband of 66 years, Calvin P. Alfred; her four children, Joy Alfred, Calvin A. Alfred and Ginger Bonin, Joey Alfred, Mary Ann Alfred and her companion, Cimaron LeFlore; her grandchildren, Jaci Alfred, Jesse Bell, Kasey Kyprianon; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Luci Bonin; her three sisters, Vivian Louviere, Lillie Courvillier, and Lorena Lambert; and four brothers, Lockwood, Tony, Cline, and Arthur Bonin. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Journey Hospice and especially, her loving nurse Amanda and Annette Griffin for all of their support and care. Pallbearers, Jesse Bell, Eriq Blanchard, Mark Griffin, Barry Barnes, Kenny Alfred, Ronnie Alfred; honorary pallbearers, Jimmy Knight, Donovan LaCoste. The visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic church Friday, July 15th from 9am until 11am with a Mass of Christian burial beginning at 11am. Entombment will follow in the Morgan City Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers the family requests to make donations to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her memory. Arrangements under the direction of Hargrave Funeral Home, Morgan City, LA. ===================
