Melba Estave Pennison, a native and lifelong resident of Bayou L'Ourse passed 
away on Monday, July 18, 2016 at the age of 89.

Melba leaves behind to cherish her memory her four sons, Raymond Pennison Jr. 
and his wife, Mona, Wayne Pennison and his wife, Dora, Wade Pennison, and 
Reuben Pennison and his wife, Dale; one brother, Herbert Estave and his wife, 
Gertrude; one sister, Seola Himel; twelve grandchildren, twenty six great 
grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded by her husband, Raymond Pennison Sr., her parents, Henry 
Estave and Olympe Boudreaux; her step mother, Ruby Estave; and three sisters, 
Shirley Cavalier, Eula Mae Pennison, and Sylvia Rhodes.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 
from 6pm to 9pm with a rosary being prayed at 7pm at Hargrave Funeral Home. 
Visitation will resume on Thursday from 8am until time of dismissal at 10:30am 
at Hargrave Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 
St. Andrew Catholic Church in Amelia 

with Melba being laid to rest in St. Andrew Catholic Church mausoleum following 
services.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the Jouney Hospice Nurses, 
Amanda and Brooke, who took care of Melba during her final days; as well as to 
the Patterson Health Care Center for the loving care they provided.
