Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/stmary/obits/dateobits/2016/sm1607.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Baldwin during a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial for Helen Marie Blanchard Williams. She will be laid to rest in the Sacred Heart Cemetery Mausoleum. Father Cedric Sonnier will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Blanchard Sr., Brady Hebert, William Capak, Josh Capak, Lil Chris Capak, and Tommy Edwards. Honorary pallbearers will be Dugan Hebert, Julien Capak, and Tom Warren. A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continue until time of Mass. Helen was born in Labadieville on October 4, 1933, the only daughter of four children born to the late Paul Blanchard Sr. and the late Helen Dolese Blanchard. She graduated from the Academy of the Sacred Heart School in Grand Coteau and went on receive her Bachelor's Degree in Education from SLI (now UL Lafayette). Helen taught elementary school and was a founding teacher for the Title 1 program. She later went on to start the Adult Education (GED) program in Franklin. Some of her passions in life were traveling the world with her husband, meeting new people, and camping and fishing with family. She was a loving and wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who simply adored her great grandchildren and loved Tea Parties with Breelan. She also enjoyed playing bridge and crossword puzzles. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her daughters, Lisa Hebert and her husband Brady, Lea Warren and her husband Tom, and Paula Capak and her husband Chris; one brother, Daniel P. Blanchard Sr.; and six grandchildren, Brandi Hebert, Chris Capak and his wife Sarah, Josh Capak and his wife Erica, William Capak, Sean Capak, and Cassandra Granger; ten great grandchildren, Breelan Hebert, Dugan Hebert, Molly Capak, Julien Capak, Lily Capak, Michael Capak, Alyssa Capak, Bryson Capak, Hailey Golden, and Ava Berrard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Williams; two brothers, Paul Blanchard Jr. and Felix "Gus" Blanchard; and a nephew, Jeff Blanchard. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made in Helen's name to Hospice of Acadiana, Lafayette, LA.
