Captain Gary Frazier was and always will be a devoted father and husband. He will forever remain a hero within many hearts. He touched the lives and hearts of many people with his strengths, love, courage, generosity, and "Brutal" honesty. Gary proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. He then spent 37 years exploring the open waters and traveling the world as a boat captain. He was dedicated to the Wounded Warriors Project and loved political debates. "Straight up and straight forward," he would always say. His spare time was spent entirely with his daughters and family. When "Pops" was with his many grandchildren the room would light up from the sparkle in his eyes. "I will love you for all times," is how he ended all his phone conversations. He is deeply missed, but his memory will forever live on. We love you " Pops", to the moon and back. Gary leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 35 years, Darlene Chaisson Frazier who he lovingly referred to as Sea Hag; five daughters, Jada Chaisson Soto and her husband, Edward, Jamie Frazier Brown and her husband, Charles, Ruth Ann Frazier Cardwell and her husband, Wesley, Constance Campbell Miller and her husband, Dallin, and Darlene Frazier Wilson and her husband, Michael; two brothers, Roy and Ronnie Frazier; one sister, Shirley Frazier Szumlic; 12 grandchildren (his pride and joy), Tyler, JaLynn, Victoria, Breea, Kira, Owen, London, Christian, Laken, Aeristin, Jax Dean, and Liam; two expected grandchildren (who he was excited to meet), Emerald and Baby Brown; 3 great grandchildren, Tai, Maryella, and the newly arrived, Baby Mary; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Ruth Frazier; his daughter, Natasha Ann Chaisson; one brother, Michael Frazier; and one sister, Charlotte Frazier. The family requests that visitation be observed on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 11am until time of services at 12 noon at Hargrave Funeral Home. In keeping with Gary's wishes, dismissal will follow services. Lastly in loving memory of Gary, please remember the following words: "Your lines are free and ready to set sail. Calm seas have never made a good sailor. You, my friend, are out of the rough seas and are headed into the calm waters of the Lord. When you pull in port and settle down, please find our loved ones that passed and give them a big hug from us. Until we meet again captain, I'll stand watch and keep this ship afloat."
