Raymond "Fat Man" Spain, Jr., 60, a resident of Centerville, LA and native of 
Franklin, LA, passed away on Tuesday June 6, 2017 at 2:06 PM at the Our Lady of 
Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette, LA.

Visitation will be observed on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 9:00 AM until 
funeral services at 11:00 AM at the Jones Funeral Home 1101 Main Street 
Franklin, LA, Reverend Charles Spann will officiate the services. 

Burial will follow funeral services in the Franklin Cemetery - Main Street in 
Franklin, LA.

Memories of "Fat Man," as he was known to many will forever remain in the 
hearts of his loving wife, Diane L. Spain of Centerville, LA; his mother, Melva 
"Melvin" Freeman Spain of Franklin, LA; two sons, Tellis Matthews (Rashonda) of 
Sunset, LA and Shane Matthews of Dallas, TX; one daughter, Tellisha Matthews 
(Theopholia Thomas) and two granddaughters he raised as his own, A'Ja Matthews 
and Ayshia Matthews all of Franklin, LA;  his brothers and sisters; Faymond 
Loston of Four Corners, Mrs. Robert (Mariko) Clay of Jeanerette, Keishalian 
Spain and Monshondrick  Spain both of Lafayette, Raymond Spain of Loreauville, 
Margie Spain of St. Martinville, Leon Webb of Youngsville and Tracy Heart of 
Franklin; his father-in-law; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a 
host of  nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Raymond was preceded in death by his father,two grandchildren, his mother-in-
law,both maternal and paternal grandparents..
