Visitation will be held at St. Stephen's Catholic Hall in Berwick today, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. andwill resume at 8 a.m. Tuesday. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Berwick. Burial will be in the Berwick Memorial Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn June Beall Frederick of Berwick; his sister, Lovenia Breaux of Abbeville; his children, Darrell Anthony Frederick Sr. of Bayou Vista, Annette Marie Frederick Exnicious of Berwick, Rickey Joseph Frederick of Bayou Vista; his grandchildren, Shawn Renee', Tally Kaye and Sadie Rae Exnicious, all of Berwick, Alaina Beth Frederick of Bayou Vista, Sable Marie Frederick, Darrell A. Frederick Jr. of Houston and one great-grandchild, Lucas William Haughton of Berwick. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marie Frederick; one daughter, Eva June Frederick; two sisters, Celestine "Tut" Trahan and Eugenia "Mim" Dinger; three brothers, James Frederick, Lawrence Frederick and Minus Frederick. Cleveland was retired from the U.S. Corps of Engineers with 35 years of service. He was a member of the St. Stephens Catholic Church were he served as an usher, a parish council member and the church's maintenance chairman. For his work in the church, Cleveland received the Diocese of Lafayette's Bishop Service Award. He was a Third Degree Knight in the Berwick Knights of Columbus and he helped pioneer and maintain the St. Stephens Christian Service Center and Thrift Store for 10 years. Re was an active member of the St., Mary Parish AARP and was crowned March Gras King in 1990 and was the AARP Citizen of the Month in June 1995. He was loved by his family, friends and his community. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Hargrave Funeral Home of Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.
