Located off Louisiana HIghway 40 on Simalusa Creek. This cemetery is on property owned by Mrs. Gertrude Wood, and you must have her permission to go in it. The property was originally owned by William Desmond, and called Tara Hill Farm. It was later registered in name of their daughter, Catherine Desmond, and her husband, Ted Boney. and then became known as Boney property. By: Doris Martin Holden - June 3, 1976 The cemetery is fenced, and has dense growth, making it impossible to see the graves now; the markers have all been knocked down and are gone. However we were told at least 10 or 12 people were buried here, including: William Desmond Mary Desmond, wife of William Catherine Desmond Boney Ted Boney Child of Catherine & Ted Boney Matilda G. L. Brown Desmond, daughter-in-law of William & Mary Desmond Born 8 November 1864; died 29 July 1901 Rose Marie Desmond, daughter of Matilda & John Desmond Born 23 December 1891; died 24 December 1891 It is our understanding that John Desmond is buried in Wadeboro Cemetery near Ponchatoula, Tangiapahoa Parish, Louisiana. The 1870 St. Taminany Parish census record shows the Desmond family: William Desmond Ireland age 32 Mary Desmond Ireland age 45 John Desmond Louisiana Age 12 Catherine Desmond Louisiana age 10 We visited this cemetery site 3 June 1976. Research was done by Doris Holden.
