October 12, 1903: Monday and Tuesday session of the Police Jury adjourned in respect to the memory of Judge James M. Thompson. The Court House was draped in black for which the sheriff was paid $10.00 for materials used. October 14, 1903: Miss Gertrude Mullings was elected the beneficiary cadet to State Normal School at Natchitoches, La. $125.00. July, 1906: Donated $100.00 towards a Silver Service for the Battleship "Louisiana". July, 1907: A petition for 4th Ward asking for 3 mill tax for 10 years on all taxable property for construction and maintenance of an electric motor car railway by the St. Tammany and New Orleans R. R. and Ferry Co. An election was ordered. There were 195 qualified voters - 104 signed the petition. The same petition was received for 3rd Ward. Election was ordered. There were 555 qualified voters - 236 signed the petition. Election was held August 20, 1907. September 3, 1907: One traction engine, Aultman & Taylor Machinery Co., Mansfield, Ohio. 14 H. P. $1588.00. Outfit complete to pull one ordinary road grader. Two day trial Free. This machine was accepted after trial on the Mandeville road. The freight of $124.35 was deducted from the total cost. January, 1909: One Burroughs adding and listing machine $367.50 less 2%. One year guarantee. 1910: $2500 to St. Tammany Parish Fair and Experiment Farm Ass'n. All land became the property of the Police Jury and nine other members. September 15, 1913: An ordinance making it unlawful for any person to dance the Turkey Trot, One Step, Tango, Bunny Hug and any other immoral or suggestive dance in any public place in St. Tammany Parish. September 21, 1914: 5th Annual Parish Fair $150.00 appropriated. June 15, 1915: Riverside Drive officially named. Road was formerly called River road or de la Vergne road. Index
