He was 96 years of age. He was a native of Washington Parish and a resident of Bush for the past 70 years. He was the husband of the late Mary A.S. Adams; the father of Rayford "Ray" Adams of Baton Rouge, Loureze A. Spell and Darlene "Dot" Taylor, both of Bush; the brother of Macauley Adams of Isabel and the late Bernard Adams, Gertrude Collett, Rudolph Adams and Nina M. Graves; the grandfather of four grandchildren; the great-grandfather of 11 great-grandchildren and the great-great-grandfather of two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of E.J. Fielding Funeral Home. Interment was in Sharp's Chapel Church of God Cemetery. Anna Bayhi Kernion METAIRIE -- Anna Bayhi Kernion died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000. She was 92 years of age. She was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Covington for the past five years. She was the wife of the late Paul S. deKernion; the mother of Yvette K. O'Rourke, Ann "Sister Jean" Kernion, Paul S. deKernion III, Richard J. Kernion, Jean B. deKernion, Sidney J. Kernion and L. Gerard Kernion; the daughter of the late Valiere Bayhi and Louise L. Bayhi; the grandmother of 13 grandchildren and the great-grandmother of seven great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Metairie. Interment was in St. Louis No. Three Mausoleum. September 6, 2000 Barbara Dilk Bruck COVINGTON -- Barbara Dilk Bruck died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2000. She was 91 years of age. She was a native of Austria-Hungary and a resident of Covington for the past nine years. She was the wife of the late John Bruck Jr.; the mother of Roberta Bruck; and the sister of the late John Dilk Jr. and Margaret Roster. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 8 p.m. in the chapel of E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. Thursday until time of services. In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred. Wanda Bourgeois Jenkins Lingo FOLSOM -- Wanda Bourgeois Jenkins Lingo died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000. She was 51 years of age. She was a lifelong resident of Folsom and a nurse's assistant in the home health services industry. She was the wife of Jerry Lingo; the mother of Rodney Jenkins II, Travis Jenkins, Bennie Jenkins, Annette J. Motichek and Savannah Jenkins; the step-mother of Krista Smith; the daughter of the late Royal Bourgeois Sr. and Ella G. Bourgeois; the sister of Royal Bourgeois Jr., Roger Bourgeois, Ella L. Bourgeois, Yvette B. Barbazon and Regina B. Stammen; and the grandmother of three grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be held today at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Folsom. She was 81 years of age. She was a native of Kansas City, Mo. and a resident of Covington for the past two years. She was the wife of John J. Wimmer; the mother of Joseph M. Wimmer and Patricia G. Gagliano; the sister of Margaret W. Comer; the grandmother of three grandchildren; and the great-grandmother of one great-grandchild. September 8, 2000 Henry Erling Jacobsen COVINGTON -- Henry Erling Jacobsen died Monday, Sept. 5, 2000. He was 91 years of age. He was a native of Chicago, Ill., a former resident of Columbus, Ohio and Metairie, and a resident of Mandeville for the past five years. He was the husband of Vera Z.M. Jacobsen; the father of Gary Jacobsen and Charlotte Clary; the stepfather of Luann Hines; the grandfather of three grandchildren; the stepgrandfather of two stepgrandchildren and the great-grandfather of one great-grandchild. He was 90 years of age. He was a lifelong resident of the Covington area, a farmer and a plasterer. He was the husband of Marjorie K. Jenkins; the father of Birtrue B. Jenkins, Mary Lou J. Albin, the late Jo Evelyn J.R. Pierce and the late Frank E. Jenkins; the grandfather of nine grandchildren and the great-grandfather of 11 great-grandchildren. Patricia Mary Walker Paul ABITA SPRINGS -- Patricia Mary Walker Paul died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000. She was 82 years of age. She was a native of Pretoria, South Africa and a resident of Abita Springs for the past 16 years. She was the wife of Wallace E. Paul; the mother of Robert Paul, Anthony Paul, Lawrence Paul, Charlene Paul, Walter Paul, Joan Paul, Nikki Paul and Roc Paul; the grandmother of numerous grandchildren and the great-grandmother to numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral services were private. September 15, 2000 Edward Erdmann Schroth COVINGTON -- Capt. Edward Erdmann "Ed" Schroth died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000. He was 87 years of age. He was a native of Berlin, Germany and a resident of Mandeville. He was the husband of Josefine L. Schroth; the father of Hannelore S. Mora, Lisette S.M. Huerta, Beate Schroth, Marianne S. Gabel and Fritz E. Schroth; the brother of the late Charlotte Hermichen; the grandfather of 14 grandchildren and the great-grandfather of one great-grandchild. September 17, 2000 Eleanor Martin King COVINGTON - Eleanor Martin King died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000. She was 76 years of age. She was a native of the Covington area, attended Louisiana State University in New Orleans and Baton Rouge and graduated from Southeastern Louisiana College. She was a teacher at Covington High School, Fifth Ward Junior High School and Lee Road Junior High School and a member of the Covington Chapter of the AARP. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, where she was a Lector and a Eucharistic Minister. She was the mother of Harry J. King, Dolly K. Gaines and Jimmey K. Vinet; the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Emile V. Martin; the sister of Doris M. Holden, Bobbye M. Sullivan and the late Ida E. Martin; the grandmother of nine grandchildren and the great-grandmother of eight great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Covington. Interment was in Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery. September 22, 2000 Dr. Lester Douglas Hornsby Jr. PINE GROVE -- Dr. Lester Douglas Hornsby Jr. died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000. He was 66 years of age. He was a native of St. Helena Parish and a resident of Mandeville for the past 35 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and earned a bachelor of arts degree, a master's degree and a doctorate degree from Louisiana State University. He was the director of psychology since 1966 at Southeast Louisiana Hospital in Mandeville. He was the husband of Lillian V.B. Hornsby; the father of Dean Hornsby, Morgan Hornsby, Van Hornsby, Mona H. Hayes and Lydia H. Quirk; the son of Leota S. Hornsby and the late Lester D. Hornsby Sr.; the brother of John N. Hornsby, Charles E. "Butch" Hornsby and Linda H. Craddock; and the grandfather of 10 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held today at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Pine Grove. The Rev. Luther Stanford will officiate. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Joseph F. Maniscalco COVINGTON -- Joseph F. Maniscalco died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000. He was 57 years of age. He was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Covington for the past 12 years. He was the husband of Gail B. Maniscalco; the father of Joseph M. Maniscalco, Jeffery S. Maniscalco and Jason R. Maniscalco; the son of Edith J. Maniscalco and the late Nicholas Maniscalco; the brother of Nicholas Maniscalco; and the grandfather of one grandchild. A funeral Mass was held Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the chapel of E.J.
