ABNEY, NORMAN 

Norman Abney, aka, 'Stormin' Norman" and "Norman the Mailman" of Slidell, died 
Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Slidell Memorial Hospital. He was 57.

He was the father of Jennifer Tensley (Joey), Norman Abney (Brooke) and James 
Abney(Kristen); son of the late Wilbert N. "Scrappy" Abney and Sylvia Jemison 
Abney; and brother of Sam Abney (Cynthia), Bruce Abney (Jaynee), Amelia 
"Bootsie" Nores (Gerald), and the late Charlotte Abney.

He is also survived by four grandchildren, Oliver Gunnar Tensley, Tyler Alan 
Abney, Haley Nicole Abney and Cameron Leigh Abney.

A native and lifelong resident of Slidell, he was the owner of the Slidell bar 
called "The Fish" and an avid LSU fan. He retired after 25 years with the U.S. 
Postal Service and was a member of the Slidell Elks Lodge.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 10, 2008, at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 
Gause Blvd. W. (in Forest Lawn Cemetery), Slidell.

ALEXANDER, PERCY ROLAND, SR 

Percy Roland Alexander Sr., age 77, a lifelong resident of Mandeville, died 
Friday, Feb. 29, at the Canon Hospice Hospital in Jefferson.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Alexander of Covington; one daughter, Melodie 
(Bernard) Penn of Covington; six sons, Carnel (Barbara) Alexander Sr. of Alton, 
Ill.; Sandy Alexander of Palmdale, Calif.; Deon Alexander Sr. of Mandeville; 
Percy (Pam) Alexander Jr. of Atlanta, Texas; Bryan (Stacy) Alexander Sr. of 
Covington; and Adrian (Donna) Alexander of Covington; one sister, Mathilda 
Fulton of Mandeville; 27 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and 
friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Stella Alexander; one son, 
Stanley Alexander Sr.; two sisters, Alma Moody and Thelma O'Brien; five 
brothers, Eddie, Leonard, Robert, Richard and Roy Alexander; and two grandsons, 
Grant and Joshua Alexander.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., Saturday, March 8, at Our Lady of The Lake 
Church, 312 Lafitte St., Mandeville. Funeral Mass will begin at 2 p.m.

Interment will be held in Mandeville Cemetery.

ARMSTRONG, MILLER FRANCIS III 

The Rev. Miller Francis Armstrong III, beloved husband, father, grandfather, 
brother, cousin, uncle, friend and priest passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 
2008, at 12:10 p.m. at home in Baton Rouge, with his family by his side. He was 
80.

Father Armstrong's life was a beautiful passion of lifelong service to his 
family and all who crossed his path. He began as a priest in 1953 and was rector 
at St. Paul's Holy Trinity in New Roads for 28 of his 55 years of service. 

Armstrong is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Mann) Armstrong; children, Miller 
Matthewson "Matt" Armstrong, Jack Slater Armstrong, Mary Martha Armstrong Quinn 
(Mrs. David Bernard Quinn), Dorothy Ball Armstrong Shemwell (Mrs. Robert Harris 
"Lad" Shemwell Jr.); grandchildren, Jack Talbot Quinn, Mary Frances Elizabeth 
Quinn, Martha Ellington "Ellie" Quinn, Rachel Michelle Armstrong, Angus Matheson 
Armstrong, Brooke Elizabeth Shemwell, Sarah Margaret Shemwell, Merritt Gaffney 
Shemwell; his brother, Robert Bruce Armstrong; nieces and nephews and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Father Miller Francis Armstrong Jr., and 
mother Dorothy Morrison Ball Armstrong.

Armstrong will be honored in a funeral service at Christ Church Cathedral at 6th 
Street and St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans on Friday, March 28 at 11 a.m. 
Internment will be held at a later date in Marshall, Texas. Memorials may be 
sent to a ministry near and dear to his heart, Nuba Christian Family Mission,

Beloved mother of Father Walter J. Austin, Jr., Peggy Austin Chartier (husband

Adam Austin, Lori Chartier Augustine (husband Glenn) and Heather Chartier 
Goldhaber (husband Matthew); great-grandmother to Megan, Rachel and Connor 
Augustine and Samuel Goldhaber; and sister to Jacquelyn Borchgrevink and Yvonne 
Smith. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Austin, Sr.; mother, 
May Werner Moyse; father, Earl Moyse; and a sister, Rosemary Fox.

Age 79 years, a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Mandeville, LA. for 
the past 9 years. She was a retired South Central Bell employee and a member of 
the Telephone Pioneers.

Monday, March 24, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1501 
West Causeway Approach, Mandeville, LA 70471.

Baham; and brothers, Cooper and Robert Lee.

Age 77 years, a native and lifelong resident of Folsom, LA.

Marie J. Baker, 83, of Slidell, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2008. 

She was the beloved wife of the late Isaac A. Baker; mother of Debra B. 
Vicknair; grandmother of Abbie L. Vicknair of Nashville, Tenn.; and daughter of 
the late Warren Jacobs and Cattie Oxendine Jacobs.

A native of Pembroke, N.C., Mrs. Baker was a loving wife, mother and grandmother 
who was a homemaker for many years to her family.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services 
at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. W. (in Forest Lawn Cemetery), Slidell, 
at noon on Saturday, March 5, 2008. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon 
Saturday. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

grandchildren.

He was a longtime volunteer at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. Aged 75 years, a 
native of Kentwood, LA and a resident of Covington for the past 30 years.

Jeannette Brown Baudot passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2008. She was born 
July 15, 1931 in Gadsden, AL to the late John L. and Edna Turner Brown and was a 
long time resident of Mandeville.

She is survived by her daughter, Kara Suzanne "Suzi" Bovia; one grandson, 
Christopher Nelson Baudot; her brother, Benjamin A. Brown; son-in-law Leon Bovia 
III; step-grandchildren Kevin Matthew and Tracy Lynn; and four step-great-
grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary "Butz" Baudot, her son, 
Christopher "Chris" Baudot and a brother Lawrence "Larry" Brown. 

Jeannette was a devoted mother as her children grew up.

As the first president of Mandeville Elementary, she was the creator of "Mandy", 
the elementary school mascot. Then she served terms in the 1970's as president 
and other offices at Mandeville High. She was a soloist in the choir at 
Mandeville Union Protestant Church. She was also a Cub Scout den mother and a 
member of the Krewe of Juno. Her active lifestyle and career took her to New 
Orleans, Texas and Gadsden, AL for a period of time before she moved back to 
Mandeville in 2002.

from St. Timothy United Methodist Church, 335 Asbury Dr. Mandeville, LA 70448 on 
Monday, March 31, 2008 at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.

Happy and proud grandmother of eighteen grandchildren, thirty-one great-
grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by three sons, Robert L. Beverly, James L. Beverly and 
Quincy P. Beverly; a daughter, Mary Iris Beverly; three grandchildren, James 
Allen, Mary Elizabeth and John Michael Schoultz; a brother, John Joseph Dudley; 
a sister, Eldo Dudley Berge; and a daughter-in-law, Dolores Braud Beverly.

A native of Vicksburg, MS and a resident of the Covington, LA area for the past 
88 years.

employed for six years as head baker and lead cook for Picadilly Cafeteria. He 
recently obtained his CNA certification from Forest Manor Nursing Home.

Lester J. Boos Sr., 82, of Slidell passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2008, at 
Slidell Memorial Hospital, of heart failure.

He was the husband of the late Catherine Maxey Boos (married 55 years); beloved 
father of Sharon B. Savoie, Lester J. Boos Jr., Catherine B. Pierce and Keith J. 
Boos, all of Slidell, and the late Dennis Joseph Boos and Ronald Joseph Boos; 
father-in-law of Patricia Walsh, Stephen Pierce, Kelly Thompson Boos and the 
late Alvin R. Savoie; son of the late Otto and Lydia Demarest Boos; and brother 
of Alvin Boos, Slidell, Jerry Boos, Bay St. Louis, Miss., Shirley B. Faler, New 
Orleans, Doris B. Donnelly, Slidell, and Lois B. Deslatte, Slidell.

He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Andre Savoie, Ross Savoie, Joshua 
Savoie, Brent Savoie, Jamie Pierce Roche, Katie Pierce Ramey, Ryan Pierce, 
Jennifer Boos, Ashley Boos, Bradley Boos, Elise Boos, Jake Boos, Zachary Boos, 
Lindsay Boos, and Jeremy Boos, and seven great-grandchildren.

A native of New Orleans and resident of Slidell since 1977, he was a U.S. Navy 
Combat Veteran serving during WW II in the Pacific Theater.

He was an appliance service technician with Sears, retiring after 30 years.

Lacombe, on Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Gilmer Martin, will be

Beulah Bergeron Bourdon, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2008.

past 40 years. She was a retired nurse having worked at Charity Hospital in New 
Orleans in the John Dibert Ward. She was a member of the Piece Makers of 
Covington Quilt Group and the New Life Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Louis Bourgeois, Sr.;

brother, Jimmy Hano.

Age 88 years, a native and resident of Madisonville, LA and former resident of 
New Orleans, LA.

BOZEMAN, DR. THOMAS WELBY

Dr. Thomas Welby Bozeman, age 80, of Covington, Louisiana died Monday, March 24, 
2008, of complications from pancreatitis. 

He was born November 27, 1927 in Searight (Covington County), Alabama, the son 
of Exer Phillips and Alfred Bozeman. He was a Chaplain's Aid in the U. S. Army 
in Hawaii from 1946-1948. He was a graduate of Dozier High School, received an 
A.B. from Samford University in Birmingham, AL, a B.D., Master of Divinity, 
Master of Religious Education, Specialist in Religious Education, and EDD in 
Psychology and Counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Welby was married August 28, 1960 to Jeanine Cannon of Dozier, AL. He was pastor 
of churches in Alabama from 1950 - 1967 (New Hope Baptist Church, Dozier Baptist 
Church while concurrently serving as Principal of Dozier High School, and 
Westside Baptist Church in Elba, Alabama). In Louisiana, he was Pastor of First 
Baptist Church of Chalmette and Tangipahoa Baptist Church in Tangipahoa. He was 
Professor of New Testament and Religious Education at Louisiana College in 
Pineville, LA from 1982-2000. After retirement, he served as interim pastor for 
numerous churches in LA and was currently serving at Grace Baptist Church in 
Folsom, LA.

Welby had a life-long interest in vegetable gardening, fishing and shrimping, 
reading biographies, maintaining physical fitness, and he never lost his love of 
learning.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 26 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at First 
Baptist Church of Covington, 16333 Hwy 1085, Covington, LA 70433 and Thursday, 
March 27 from 6:00-8:30 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home, 1516 Martin Luther King 
Parkway, Andalusia, AL 36420. The funeral will be Friday, March 28 at 2:00 p.m. 
at Dozier Baptist Church, 253 School Street, Dozier, AL 36028 with a visitation 
beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Dozier Cemetery, Foreman Funeral 
Home officiating.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanine Cannon Bozeman; a sister, Bonnice Wilks of 
Troy, AL; a brother, Ray Bozeman of Andalusia, AL and numerous nieces and 
nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the T. Welby Bozeman 
Scholarship Fund at Louisiana College, P. O. Box 589, 1140 College Dr., 
Pineville, LA, 71359.

Terri Lynn Provensal Breland passed away on Friday, March 14, 2008 at her home 
in Madisonville, LA.

Beloved wife of Marty Breland. Mother of Trent, Trey and Trev Breland. Daughter 
of Roland M. and S. "Boots" Provensal. Sister of Kelly P. Heitzmann. Also 
survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Covington. She graduated from Xavier 
University College of Pharmacy.

Aged 38 years, a native of Metairie, LA and a resident of Madisonville, LA for 
the past 5 years.

Mr. L. Weldon Calahan was a former resident of New Iberia and died on March 15, 
2008, in Slidell at Camellia Gardens Retirement Home from complications of 
Parkinson's disease. 

He was born Dec. 8, 1915 in Idabel, Okla., and was a longtime employee of Texaco 
Inc. 

He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Nell Delcambre; three brothers, 
William W. Calahan, Thomas L. Calahan and Charles V. Calahan; four sons, Luther 
Weldon 'Pat' Calahan Jr. of Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.; P. Charles Calahan and 
wife Bonnie H. Calahan of New Iberia; Joseph D. Calahan and wife Betty T. 
Calahan of Slidell; and Daniel O. Calahan and wife Katherine M. Calahan of 
Mandeville; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. 

The family requests any memorial be sent to either The American Cancer Society 
or the Salvation Army.

Christine Ann Chachere was entrusted to God's care on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 
the age of 57. 

She was born in New Orleans, was a resident of Kenner for over 30 years and at 
the time of her death resided in Covington, LA.

She was employed as Administrative Assistant at Lakeview Regional Medical 
Center. 

She is survived by her husband Tilghman George Chachere, IV; one son, Buddy 
Chachere; three sisters: Charlene Cucullu (Lionel, deceased), Cheryl Despeaux 
(Carroll), Cynthia Vaccaro (Ronnie); her aunt Doris Berthelson Bayhi; sister-in-
law, Lisa Chachere; brother-in-law, Mac A. Chachere; nieces and nephews: 
Stephanie Points Barker, Nicole Cucullu Veazey, Alisha Vaccaro Kennedy, Rachel 
Foley, Robert S. Points, Christopher G. Cucullu, Nick A. Vaccaro and Adam Foley. 
She is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews and cousins. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Corinne Gelpi and Fred E. Berthelson; 
father-in-law, Tilghman G. Chachere, Jr. and is the daughter-in-law of Lavicia 
McDonald Chachere.

Chrissy was part owner and travel consultant for Travel Haus, Inc. in Kenner for 
many years and was a huge supporter of Tulane Athletics attending both football 
and baseball games. 

George, Buddy and the entire family thank their many friends and neighbors for 
their kindness and support during this difficult time. The family would also 
like to thank the nurses on the 4th and 5th floors, doctors and staff at 
Lakeview for the loving care given to Chrissy and special thanks to her niece, 
Alisha, for her caring support. Chris' spirit will live on through us until we 
join her in heaven.

Margaret B. Cutrer of Pearl River passed away at her home on March 19, 2008, at 
the age of 81. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Claude M. Cutrer.

She was the mother of Jerry C. Cutrer (Dianna), Claude M. Cutrer Jr. (Susan), 
Cynthia Chanel Paige, Deborah C. Faurie (Gene) and Ellen C. Reagin (Joseph). She 
had two brothers, Michael J. Balint and Geza L. Balint (both deceased); three 
sisters, Irene B. Fazekas, Mary B. Foltz and Rose Mary Delao (Joseph); and one 
sister-in-law, Harriet Balint.

She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and two great-
great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews and special family 
friend, Mary Ann Cunningham (Larry).

Margaret was the daughter of Geza Gabor and Margaret Paul Balint of Hungary.

Services will be at Pearl River United Methodist Church, where she was a member 
for many years, on Saturday, March 22, 2008. officiated by the Rev. Ben 
Mageehee. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. 
Interment in Evans Creek Cemetery.

Ellen B. Dirmann passed away on Friday, March 21, 2008.

She was born October 7, 1916 in New Orleans to the late Alvina Dietrich and the 
late Joseph Dirmann, Jr. was a life resident of Abita Springs. She is survived 
by one son, E. Stanley Ericsen of Abita Springs and was preceded in death by two 
brothers: Joseph M. and Maurice J. Dirmann and one sister, Viola R. Dirmann.

Ellen was a school teacher at the Waldheim School from 1938-1941, in 1942 she 
began teaching at McDonough #16 and taught there until her retirement in 1953.

She was a member of the Louisiana Retired Teacher's Association and the VFW 
Ladies' Auxiliary.

The beloved wife of the late Joseph M. Ducros, Jr., she is survived by two

by her brother, C.W. Magee and one sister, Hilda Blanchard.

Floyd J. Dupre, 84, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 
home surrounded by loving family and friends.

He was the loving husband of 59 years of Joyce Mary Cortez Dupre; beloved father 
of Ronnie J. Dupre and wife Debbie and Brenda D. Cortez and husband Larry; 
grandfather of Elaine Robinson and her husband Keith, Michelle Boudreaux and her 
husband Blake, Brian Mayeur and his wife Michelle and Clifford Dupre and his 
wife Nicole; and he was survived by ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived 
by his sister, Inola Dupre and brother, Austin Dupre, Jr. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin Dupre, Sr. and Pauline Vasseur 
Dupre; and two brothers, Clydiss and Turlin Dupre.

Floyd was a veteran of WWII having served as a member of the Army's 2nd Ranger 
Battalion, Company C. He participated in the Normandy Invasion, climbing the 
cliffs at Pointe du Hoc, France on D-Day, June 6, 1944. He was also a member of 
VFW Post 3804 and American Legion Post 401 and a 4th Degree Knight, Knights of 
Columbus Council N6872. He was a volunteer at the National D-Day Museum for a 
number of years.

EDMONSTON, JAMES MATTHEW JR 

James Matthew Edmonston Jr., was born in Picayune, Miss. on March 8, 1957. 

He lost his lengthy battle with Chron's Disease on March 18, 2008 in Slidell at 
Northshore Regional Medical Center. He was 51 years old.

He is survived by Susan Edmonston, his wife of 29 years; his children, Andrew 
Allen Edmonston, 25, Robert James Edmonston, 24, Dawnelle Marcia Edmonston, 22, 
and Michael John Edmonston, 20. He is also survived by his father, James Matthew 
Edmonston Sr.; his sisters, Thereasa Edmonston Welch and Diane Edmonston 
Johansen, and several nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Voncil Snelgrove Edmonston; his 
stepmother, Carolyn Palmer Edmonston; a son, James Matthew Edmonston III; and a 
daughter, Maria Ann Edmonston.

During his college years he was a radio disc jockey in Ruston and Hammond. He 
was in the U.S. Navy for seven-and-one-half years as a fire control technician 
and achieved the rank of E-6, first class petty officer. He served on the USS 
Woodrow Wilson ballistic submarine SSBN 624 for most of his career. After being 
given an honorable discharge from the Navy in 1986, he worked as an electronics 
technician at several manufacturing plants before beginning to work offshore as 
an offshore electrician. During high school and before working offshore he was 
active in the local drama theatres, Playmakers and Slidell Little Theatre.

A private memorial service was held March 22 at Pearl River United Methodist 
Church in Pearl River. His body was donated to science.

James had been in and out of the hospital since Hurricane Katrina creating a 
financial hardship on his family, anyone wishing to make a monetary donation to

James Forrest Fargason, Jr. passed away on Friday, March 28, 2008.

Beloved husband of Anne Marie Schneider Fargason. Awesome father of Clelia 
Fargason, Elizabeth Fargason Stanga, Carmel Fargason, and Ellen Fargason, and 
adored father-in-law of Len Stanga. He is also survived by his brother Dr. C.A. 
Fargason (Mary Beth) of Baton Rouge and his nephews Dr. Tony Fargason (Rachel), 
Mr. Scott Fargason (Meshelle) and Dr. David Fargason (Donna), and a host of 
cousins, grand nieces and nephews.

Aged 75 years, Mr. Fargason, a native of Memphis, TN, had resided in Old 
Mandeville, LA for the past 25 years. Mr. Fargason was a member of Mandeville 
Rotary Club, Pontchartrain Yacht Club, the Madisonville Maritime Museum, the 
Catboat Association, the New Orleans World Trade Club, the Sports Car Club of 
America and Our Lady of the Lake Parish's Finance Council. He served on the 
Boards of the Samaritan Center, International Association of Refrigerated 
Warehouses, the World Group, and chaired OLL's Capital Campaign. The Archdiocese 
of New Orleans awarded him the Order of St. Louis Commendation. Prior to 
retirement Mr. Fargason served in an executive capacity in a variety of 
companies including New Orleans Cold Storage (NOCS), Superior Casing Crews, and 
owner/CEO of Royal Lincoln Mercury in Gulfport, Mississippi. While living in 
Gulfport, Mr. Fargason was elected President of the Gulfport Chamber of Commerce 
and assisted in founding the Harrison County Tourism Commission.

Mr. Fargason was a man of many talents and interests. Among his favorite hobbies 
were raising his daughters, sailing, reading, cooking, storytelling, and racing 
cars. Following Hurricane Katrina, he spearheaded a massive relief campaign for 
the Bay Waveland area.

Gwen Jackson; four sisters, Minnie Leidenheimer, Nettie McCray, Cathy Sullivan 
and Etta Parker; and eight grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bertha and Harvey Gaines.

William Edward Garity of Covington, LA, died peacefully on March 29 at home 
after a long illness. 

Bill was born January 23, 1923, in Catonsville, Maryland, and had just 
celebrated his 85th birthday at a surprise party given by all his children and 
grandchildren. Bill lived at Christwood Retirement Community, where he was 
blessed with many wonderful friends, as well as all of the caring staff at 
Christwood. Prior to his move to Covington ten years ago, he had lived on the 
Westbank of New Orleans for 25 years. Bill grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee, 
attended Jesuit High School in New Orleans, and graduated from the University of 
Tennessee with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. While at UT, he was a member 
of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He began his career with General Electric and 
spent his 42-year career with GE as a power transformer sales engineer, living 
in Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Chicago, and Pittsfield, Massachusetts. 
He retired in 1985 as the District Manager of the New Orleans sales office.

He was an active volunteer throughout his life in various capacities and 
locales. He was actively involved in the Elfun Society, a volunteer organization 
of General Electric executives. He also devoted time to his church, most 
recently Christ Church, Covington, and previously St. Philips Episcopal Church, 
New Orleans. He was an avid golfer and very involved with the Louisiana Seniors 
Golf Tour. He loved to travel, and he journeyed over waters near and far. 

Bill is survived by his wife of 10 years, Erin Sullivan Wohlbruck Garity of New 
Orleans. He had been married to Jean Mitchell Garity of North Rose, NY, for 43 
years until her death in 1991. He is also survived by three daughters, one son, 
three stepsons and their spouses: Susan & Francisco Zamora (VA), Nancy & Daniel 
Baker (CT), Cynthia & Joseph Kueck (LA), and William & Chang Garity, Jr. (CO), 
John Wohlbruck (NY), Jim & Nancy Wohlbruck (NJ), and Eric & Cindy Wohlbruck 
(TN). Bill had ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, whom he loved 
dearly. One of nine children originally, he is survived by two sisters, Grace 
Williams (TN) and Lucille Haywood (TN), and his brother Joseph Garity (AL). Also 
surviving are many beloved nieces and nephews and their children, scattered 
across the country.

Despite the geographical distances between his children and his extended family, 
it was always a great joy for Bill to visit and spend time with his family. He 
will be greatly missed by all. A memorial service will be held on April 3rd at 
10:00 am at Christ Episcopal Church in Covington followed by a reception in the 
Garden Room at Christwood. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the 
John Lohman Fund through Christwood, Christ Episcopal Church or Hospice of St. 
Tammany.

Jeanne "Nettie" Tauzy Muller Gisevius passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2008.

She was born August 12, 1920 in New Orleans to the late Pauline Cazebonne and 
Joseph Tauzy and has been a resident of Mandeville since 1995.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Alvin F. Gisevius. She was preceded 
in death by her husband of 36 years, George B. Muller, Jr. She is also survived 
by four sons: George B. Muller, III, Robert J., Dennis J. and James G. Muller; 
10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. 

One brother, John Albert Tauzy; and one sister, Marie T. Daries also preceded 
her in death.

Arthur F. "Possum" Gomez, age 73 years, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 
2008, at Slidell Memorial Hospital of heart failure.

He was the beloved husband of Patti P. Gomez; father of Dawn Mayo; father-in-law 
of Ronald Mayo and grandfather of Christopher and David Mayo. He is survived by 
one brother, Bernard Gomez; two sisters, Polly Halverson and Imelda Livingston; 
and a number of nieces and nephews. 

He was the son of the late Arthur A. and Pauline Gomez and the brother of the 
late Nettie Jean McManus, Ursula Holmes, Christopher Gomez, Malcolm Gomez and 
Martin Gomez.

A native and lifelong resident of Slidell who loved music, he was employed by 
American Standard and the St. Tammany Parish School Board. He retired in 1994 
for health reasons.

HOGUE, CHARLIE 

Mr. "Charlie" Hogue, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, 
went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 4, 2008. He was 83.

Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008, in the Chapel of 
First United Methodist Church of Dothan with Dr. James Sanders and Dr. 
Christopher Feucht officiating. 
Interment will be in Fairfax Cemetery in Valley, Ala., at 2 p.m. Friday, March 
7, 2008, with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Matt Palmer, Mac Hogue, Sean 
Feucht and Corey Hogue.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 
1380 West Main St., Dothan, AL 36301, for a special project in honor of Charlie.

Charlie was born April 30, 1924, in Tallassee, Ala., and was raised in Fairfax, 
Ala. He resided in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Slidell for many years prior to 
relocating to Dothan following Hurricane Katrina.

He was a Navy Veteran of WWII, attended the Citadel and was a University of 
Alabama alumnus. Charlie was a church lay leader and Past President of United 
Methodist Men. Recently he was given a Lifetime Achievement Recognition Award on 
behalf of the United Methodist Men's Club at First United Methodist Church of 
Slidell. He was an Eagle Scout and was involved in scouting activities for over 
20 years. Throughout his career, Charlie enjoyed working as a salesman, soda 
"jerk" and Avon dealer.

His hobbies included gardening, tennis, hiking, bicycling, square dancing, Mardi 
Gras festivities, singing in the choir, writing poetry and songs and 
volunteering at church and the hospital. He was an avid "BAMA" fan and a 
collector of rocks, keys, sticks, buttons, knives and foreign coins. Charlie 
lived life to the fullest and humor was a hallmark of his life.

He is preceded in death by an infant son, Charles Sansom III.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Catherine; two sons and daughters-in-
law, Alan and Ginger Hogue, Mark and Stephanie Hogue; three daughters, Nancy, 
Pamela, Janis; two sons-in-law, Chris Feucht, Bob McCoy; twelve grandchildren; 
and two great-grandchildren.

Charlie leaves behind a legacy of love and faithfulness.

There will be a Memorial Celebration for Charlie Hogue on Sunday, March 16, 
2008, from noon to 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Slidell in the 
Fellowship Hall.

Warren Benedict Kempff, at the age of 89, went to be with our Lord on Friday, 
March 21, 2008.

Born in New Orleans, LA on September 15, 1918, to the late Otto V. Kempff and 
the late Leona Senac Kempff, he was a graduate of Jesuit High School. He was a 
Sergeant in the Army Air Force from 1942 until 1945 and then a member of the 
IBEW, Local 130, for 67 years.

He was the beloved husband of Wilma "Billie" Dawsey Kempff; the father of Diane 
Kempff Blaylock, Michelle Kempff Lutenbacher and the late Ronald Warren Kempff; 
father-in-law of Russell L. Blaylock, MD; grandfather of Ron L. Blaylock, Damien 
R. Blaylock, Kori C. Lutenbacher and Abbie M. Lutenbacher; grandfather-in-law to 
Lindsay Nusloch Blaylock; and the great-grandfather of Gabriel W. Blaylock, 
Declan D. Blaylock and Susanna A. Blaylock. He was the brother of the late Otto

Jean D. Lewis, 61, was cherished by her four daughters and loved very much by

She was a Paralegal with Ernest Barrow Law Firm in Covington.

Surviving Jean are four daughters, Sherrie D. Michael and her husband, Peter; 
Terri Sauls and her husband, John; Carrie Bell Holmes and Jennifer E. Lewis. Her 
ex-husband, Glenn Bell survives her along with his spouse, Carolyn. 

She leaves behind her mother, Elcie M. Dees, father and stepmother, James and 
Mildred Dees, and her only sibling, Jane D. Odom. She will be missed greatly by 
her eight grandchildren, Zachary, Isaac, Griffin, Katie, Levi, Mason, Hannah and 
Daniel. Carol and Gary McInnis, Trevor Gould and Kathy Adams are only a few of 
the many special friends who became a part of Jean'??s life.

Jean had a beloved dog named Themis, and she will miss her as much as any family 
member.

Jack Clark of Hartford, Ala., and sisters, Virginia C. Pugh, Evelyn C. Hayes and 
brother Jack A. Clark. 

She is survived by a loving sister, Naomi C. Zuker of Knoxville, Tenn.; a 
devoted sister-in-law, Jayce C. Clark of Mandeville; brother-in-law, Glover Pugh 
of Helena, Ala., and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Eliza was 
born in Hartford, Ala., attended the University of Montevallo and graduated from 
Auburn University. 

Mrs. Macatee was a home economist in Alabama and Louisiana until her retirement 
in 1967. 

She was a leader in many garden and civic organizations in the New Orleans area. 
She enjoyed interior decorating, gardening, painting and visiting with family 
and friends. Mrs. Macatee enjoyed her life on the Northshore in Beau Chene and 
Christwood. 

Services were held Saturday, Feb. 23, in Hartford in the Bottoms Garden Chapel. 
Interment was in the Hartford Cemetery.

Jean Jennings McEntee passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2008.

Grandmother of Kevin, Brian and Eddie Smith, Jeane, Katherine, Megan, Michael, 
Matthew and James Nardone. Beloved mother of Barabara McEntee and Michael 
Nardone.

Aged 74 years, a native of New York City, NY and a resident of Mandeville, LA 
for the past 30 years.

Jean McEntee was the founder of the Northshore Womens Golf Association and she 
won the Beau Chene Golf Championship in 1980,81. She was also a proud member of 
the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was active in the community 
donating to many Charities.

Doris Belle Rudy McIntosh passed from this life into her eternal life on 
Tuesday, March 4th in Abita Springs, Louisiana. She was 84 years of age and was 
completely surrounded by the love of her family.

A service will be held at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Chapel in Covington, LA on 
Friday, March 7th at 3:00 PM in the afternoon. Viewing will be on Thursday 
evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Friday afternoon from 1:00 PM until 
service time.

She is survived by her son, Lawrence Clyde McIntosh, daughters Pamela Ann 
McIntosh and Linda Diane McIntosh Shepherd and nine wonderful, much loved 
grandchildren. 

Mrs. McIntosh, who was born in Shreveport, Louisiana to Lily Mutelle and 
Lawrence Milton Rudy, was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years, 
Clyde Singleton McIntosh.

She was the first baby born into Kings Highway Christian Church in Shreveport, 
LA and was the Louisiana State Doubles Tennis Champion during her high school 
days at Byrd High School. Her adult life was spent as a devoted Christian, wife 
and Mother. She was a Sunday School teacher, award-winning floral arranger, 
Heart Fund Volunteer, Scout Leader and PTA member. Her life was truly spent in 
service to others. After moving to Abita Springs, LA in 1993 and the death of 
her husband in 1994, she continued her volunteerism by working for Meals on 
Wheels with her daughter Pamela.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff of Concerned Care Hospice for 
their nurturing care of both Mrs. McIntosh and her entire family. Without their 
devotion, it would not have been possible for her to remain at home during her 
final months.

The family also requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the 
Alzheimer's Foundation of America - "A Quilt to Remember" Fund. A quilt 
commemorating Mrs. McIntosh's life is currently on tour in the United States 
with hundreds of other quilts that have been made by family members and friends 
in Memory and in Honor of other Alzheimer's victims. The purpose of the AFA 
Quilt is to be an educational tool and to bring the issue of "care....in addition 
to cure" to the national stage.

MEYER, LOIS L. 

Lois L. Meyer, 87, Slidell, formerly of Lake Mills, Wis., died Wednesday, March 
12, 2008, at Northshore Regional Medical Center in Slidell.

She was born on Dec. 2, 1920, in Lake Mills, the daughter of the late Charles 
and Elsie (Schrank) Gottschalk.

Lois married George E. Meyer of Lake Mills on Nov. 16, 1940, at Dubuque Iowa. He 
died on Nov. 19, 1998.

She was a graduate of the Lake Mills High School, class of 1937. She then 
graduated from the Spencerian Business College in Milwaukee in 1938.
Lois was employed as a secretary for the State of Wisconsin Department of 
Agriculture until her retirement.

She was a longtime member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lake Mills.

Lois was a past president of the Clarence Bean-Warren George Post No. 67 of the 
Lake Mills American Legion Auxiliary. She also had served as president of the 
State Child Welfare Committee.

Survivors include one son, Donald (Maureen) Meyer of Medway, Mass.; three 
daughters, Evelyn (Michael) Drake of Yorktown, Va., Jean (Richard) Lamrouex of 
Bowie, Md., and Lorraine (Charles) Nahmens of Lacombe; and 10 grandchildren, 
John (Crystal), James and Jeffrey Lamrouex, Jeannette (Timothy) Jumbelick, 
Deborah (Ronald) Crain, Douglas (Ellen) McBride, Michelle ( Douglas) Richardson, 
Kimberly (Michael) Martinez and Lynn and Mary Nahmens; eight great-
grandchildren.

Also, two step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Elaine 
(Russell) Bailey of Bloomfield, Ind.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and 
friends.

Also preceding in death was one son, George C. Meyer, and two brothers, Charles 
and Kenneth.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at 11 a.m. at St. 
Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lake Mills with the Revs. James E. Rath and 
Bruce A. McKenney officiating.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the church until the time of 
service.
Burial will be in the Kroghville Cemetery.

Ellen Champagne Minton of Slidell died Monday, March 10, 2008.

She was the beloved wife of the late Rev. Dr. Donald W. Minton and mother of 
James Lockhart Minton of Fairhope, Ala., and Donell Minton Williams of Slidell.

She is also survived by six grandchildren, James Donald Minton, Christopher 
Ashton Williams, Geoffrey Lockhart Williams, Jenny Minton Johnson, Jodi Minton 
Willenborg and Gregory Joshua Williams; and six great-grandchildren, Madison Rae 
Minton, Chandler James-Lockhart Minton, Jordan Minton Johnson, Emma Lorena Joyce 
Johnson, Carson James David Johnson and Sophie Isabella Williams.

She was born on Oct. 29, 1924, in New Orleans and a resident of Slidell for over 
75 years. She was a 1945 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of LSU with a degree in 
Business.

She owned and operated Champagne's Department Store in Old Towne Slidell, which 
was established in 1937 by her parents. It remained open for more than 50 years.

She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Bayou Liberty Garden Club and 
the 50 Year Club of Slidell High School.

Gill and Grace Quinlan Gill; and sister of Walter F. Gill, Kenneth I. Gill and 
the late Mabel G. DiZinno.

She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Ashley (John), Brandi (Joseph), Renee, 
Sabrina (Heath), Bria, Jessica, Crystal (James), Carole, Eric, Christopher, 
Elise, Wesley, William, Kaylie; six great-grandchildren, Alexis, Rylee, Devon, 
Gabriel, Ayden and Sara, and a host of nieces, nephews, other extended family 
and friends.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was a native of Queens County, New York, and a resident of Lacombe for over 
40 years.

James A. Morgan Jr., Brent D. Morgan (Candy), Mark W. Morgan (Kim), Linda F. 
Morgan and Diane K. Morgan; son of the late George F. Morgan and Grace Oquin 
Morgan; and brother of Katherine Leach and the late George F. Morgan Jr. and 
Roberta Ann Lemon.

He is also survived by six grandchildren, Lewis Michel, Matthew, Morgan, Jacob 
and Brecan Morgan and Madeline and Hailey Morgan; one step-grandchild, Trudy 
Stewart (Scott); and his sister-in-law, Georgia Sanders.

A native of Baton Rouge and a former longtime resident of Slidell, Mr. Morgan 
was a retired pharmacy manager for K&B Drugs in Slidell. He served his country 
in the U.S. Army during WWII. He received a bachelor's degree in agriculture 
from LSU and his Doctorate of Pharmacy from Loyola University in New Orleans.

He was a Mason and a former member of the Slidell Masonic Lodge. He was also a 
longtime member of First Baptist Church of Slidell. God bless Mom and Dad!

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Reba Marion Weaver Paretti; second

Anthony Paretti.

Age 86 years, a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Mandeville, LA for 
the past 30 years. 

Mr. Paretti was dealer principal of Paretti Pontiac of New Orleans, founded in 
1935; Paretti Jaguar of New Orleans in 1968, located in Metairie, LA; Paretti 
Land Rover of New Orleans in 1997, Paretti Jaguar/Land Rover of Baton Rouge in 
1997; and Paretti Mazda of Metairie in 2004. Mr. Paretti enjoyed music, singing 
and flying.

Funeral Services will be private.

Entombment will be in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.

PERTUIT, GEORGE ARMAND, SR 

George Armand Pertuit, Sr., age 92 years, passed away peacefully and "went home" 
on Wednesday, March 12, 2008.

Mr. Pertuit, born in New Orleans Jan. 2, 1916, was a lifelong resident until his 
move to Slidell 12 years ago.

Mr. Pertuit proudly served his country during World War II from November 1940 
until December 1946. He served in the U.S. Navy as a permanently appointed Chief 
Petty Officer, Aviation Electrician.

He was there at Pearl Harbor on that fateful day. Mr. Pertuit was the sole owner 
and proprietor of Standard Broom and Mop Manufacturing Co. in New Orleans for 
over 50 years. He was also a former member and Past Master of the Fidelity Lodge 
in New Orleans.

Mr. Pertuit is survived by his loving wife of 59 years and his sole "caregiver" 
for the past few years, Frances Smith Pertuit; children Jean Knight (Andy), Jane 
Cormier (Jay), George Pertuit Jr. (Adana) and Jack Pertuit (Sonya); 
grandchildren Jeff Singley (Necole), Chris Singley, Leslee Flowers (Myron), Kyle 
Cormier, Rachael, Michelle and Natalie Pertuit; step grandchild Trenton Knight; 
great grandchildren Avery and Reagan Flowers and Savannah Singley. He is also 
survived by one sister, Ruby Pertuit Sunseri.

Mr. Pertuit is preceded in death by his son, John A. Pertuit, his father and 
mother, Willis and Alice Pertuit, two brothers (Willis Jr. and Paul) and three 
sisters (Alice, Josephine and Louise). Also preceded in death by his father-in-
law and mother-in-law, Alvin and Mercedes Cugin Smith.

Slidell Memorial Hospital (East Wing); and to Drs. Tviet, Newcomb and Kreftt.

He was born May 29, 1940 to the late Ado and Catherine Sharp Rogers, he was an

He is survived by two daughters, Vickie R. Sharp and Robin R. LeBlanc; his 
former wife Maxine Smith Rogers; five grandchildren: Jason and Kelly Galloway,

Seth, Dalton, Collin, Elijah and Ryleigh. He is the brother of Yvonne Owen, Joe

SALASSI, GLADYS EDDINS 

Gladys Eddins Salassi, 91, of Slidell, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2008, at 
Northshore Regional Medical Center.

She was the beloved wife of the late Col. Edmond A. Salassi; loving mother of 
Susie George and the late Gladys Lee; stepmother of Edmond C. Salassi; mother-
in-law of Dr. G. Avery Lee; former mother-in-law of Ken George and former 
stepmother-in-law of Margaret Ann Pou.

She was the daughter of the late Theodore and Gladys Martin Eddins and sister of 
the late William T. "Bill" Eddins and Jane Street(Richard).

She is also survived by two grandchildren, Kelly George and Kenneth George; six 
step-grandchildren, Ann Bird, Kathryn Abney, Edmond Salassi, Jr, Jeni LaCoste, 
George Lee and Gregg Lee; eight step-great grandchildren; two nephews, McIntosh 
Street (Nanette) and Ted Street (Urmgard) and a niece; Jane Gorden (Steve).

She was a native of Slidell, a former resident of Baton Rouge for 47 years and a 
resident of Slidell since 1989.

Mrs. Salassi graduated from Slidell High School and received her music education 
from Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans. Along with being a homemaker, Mrs. 
Salassi taught music education out of her home in Baton Rouge. Her cheerful 
disposition, strong faith in God and sense of humor will keep us moving forward.

A graveside service will be held in Greenwood Cemetery, between Second and Bryan 
streets in Old Town Slidell, today at 3 p.m. The Rev. Jessie Butler will 
officiate.

A reception in honor of Mrs. Salassi will be held at the family home following 
the graveside services.

Iris Josephine Brulet Scioneaux, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2008.

Beloved mother of Mary Ann S. Lahners and Alfred A. Scioneaux, Jr.; eight 
grandchildren, Daniel, Thomas and John Scioneaux, Leslie Cobb, William Lahners, 
Rebecca Wilson and Tracy Callihan; and sister of June B. Mattix. She was also 
survived by seventeen great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred A. Scioneaux, Sr.; her mother, 
Lillian Bergeron Brulet; her father, Preston Brulet; a granddaughter, Susette 
Scioneaux; and two brothers, Robert P. Brulet and James Brulet.

Age 97 years, a native of Garyville, LA, a resident of Covington, LA and a 
former resident of New Orleans, LA.

Raye Elaine Nuernberg Siverio, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2008.

Beloved mother of Ann S. Carter and her husband Steve, Ralph M. Siverio, Jr., 
Gary O. Siverio and Alan Rey Siverio; and sister to Donald Nuernberg and his 
wife Victoria and Charles Nuernberg. She was also survived by six grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph M. Siverio, Sr.; her mother, 
Elaine Marguerite McNabb Nuernberg; and her father, Milton Nuernberg.

Age 69 years, a native of Baton Rouge, LA and a resident of Slidell, LA for the 
past 30 years. She attended Louisiana State University, and graduated from the 
University of Southern Mississippi in Library Science. She retired from Tulane 
University as an Administrative Assistant in the History department.

THOMAS, ORA GILDA FAUNTLEROY 

Ora Gilda Fauntleroy Thomas, a lifelong resident of Bush, died Friday, Feb. 29, 
2008, at the age of 80. 

She attended Covington High School and devoted 20 years as a Licensed Practical 
Nurse to patients at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. She was a member of Hebron 
Baptist Church in Bush and beloved by family and friends. 

She is survived by her daughters, Charlotte Thomas Harwood and Cheryl Lee 
Thomas; her son, Ronnie Edwin Thomas; two grandchildren, Vanessa Ann Thomas and 
Stephanie Elaine Thomas; four great-grandchildren, Madison Leigh, Ethan Joseph, 
Alyssa Marie and MacKenzie Lynn; a sister, Mary Loyd; and a brother, David 
Fauntleroy. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Pete Edward Thomas; and 
her parents, John and Clara Fauntleroy. 

Visitation was held Monday, March 3, at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home,continuing. 
The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. 

Interment followed in the Thomas Cemetery, located off Highway 41 on Thomas 
Cemetery Road in Bush.

Dorothy R. "Dottie" Villar, 54, of Slidell, died Saturday, March 15, 2008, at 
Lakeview Regional Medical Center.

She was the beloved wife of Michael "Mickey" Villar; mother of Jerry Raymond 
Carroll Jr. and Brad Michael Carroll; mother-in-law of SanciaRay L. Carroll; and 
daughter of the late Joseph W. Reysack

She is survived by two brothers and two sisters and was preceded in death by two 
sisters.

She is also survived by two grandchildren, Alyssa R. Carroll and Jonathan R. 
Carroll

A native of New Orleans and a resident of Slidell for the past 25 years, she was 
a homemaker, enjoyed the arts and crafts and gardening and was an aerobic 
fitness trainer at Crossgates Athletic Club, being well known for Bodies by 
Dottie.

She is survived by her husband, Carl Wayne Waldron, two sons, Stanley and 
Stephen Waldron of Slidell; and daughters, Patricia Turner and son-in-law David 
Turner of Folsom and Dorothy Gilbert and son-in-law Joe Gilbert of Slidell. She 
is also survived by 10 grandsons, Jonathan, Michael, David, Jeffrey, Daniel, 
Chris, David, Stevie, Ryan and Harry; one granddaughter, Alisha; one great-
grandchild; three sisters, Marie Dennis, Copeland, Texas, Louise Tatum, Ft. 
Worth and Pat Wallace, Humble, Texas; and two brothers, Son Edens and Bob Edens, 
both of Big Springs, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mabel Edens; three brothers,

Michael P. Wigginton passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2008.

Beloved husband of 62 years of Shirley Hymel Wigginton; father to Michael 
Wigginton, Jr and his wife Lisa and Raymond Wigginton; grandfather to Rebecca 
and Cristine Wigginton; and great-grandfather to Zachary Jolet. Also survived by 
several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Pfaadt Wigginton Vivian; his 
father, George H. Wigginton; three brothers, George, Joseph and James Wigginton.

Age 85 years, a native of New Orleans, LA, he was a resident of Covington, LA 
and a former resident of Mandeville, LA. He was a retired member of 
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local #130 and the Local #130 
Retirees Club. Mr. Wigginton left during World War II to serve with the 
Washington Artillery as a Sergeant in the European Theater. He received the 
Purple Heart, the European Theater of Operations Medal, World War II Victory 
Medal, American Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was also a 
member of the Washington Artillery Veterans Association, the Abita Springs VFW 
Post #8720, the American Legion Robert Burns Post #16 of Covington and a Life 
Member of the DAV.

WILLIAMS, FLORETTA CONLEE 

Floretta Conlee Williams, 80, of Picayune, Miss., and formerly of Benoit and 
Leland, Miss., died March 28, 2008, at the Slidell Memorial Hospital in Slidell.

She was a native of Missouri and a longtime resident of Leland, where she was a 
longtime employee of the Bank of Leland as a bank teller. After her retirement 
she made her home in Benoit. She was a former member of Leland United Methodist 
Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hoyt C. and Dorothy Dearman Johnson; 
her two husbands, Carl William Conlee and Charles E. Williams; a brother, Hoyt 
C. Johnson Jr. and a sister, Betty J. Gideon. 

She is survived by, a daughter, Connie C. (Bob) Austin of Rockwall, Texas; three 
sons, C.W. "Trey" (Kathy) Conlee of Kansas City, Mo., Douglas (Kimberlee) Conlee 
of Lehi, Utah, and Dr. Don (Gwen) Conlee of Picayune; a brother, Leslie (Kay) 
Johnson of Jackson, Miss.; two sisters-in-law, Libba Johnson of Columbus and 
Charlotte Conlee of Monroe; 12 grandchildren, Hally Cobb, Stevens Austin, Kathy 
Conlee Harris, Amy Austin Wirtzberger, Danica Conlee Love, Justin Conlee, Josh 
Austin, Shane Conlee, Zachary Austin, Jesse Conlee, Tyler Conlee and Bryan 
Conlee; and 11 great-grandchildren, Nathan Cobb, Taylor Austin, Jacob Cobb, 
Parker Austin, Audrey Wirtzberger, Hunter Wirtzberger, Berlynn Wirtzberger, Lexi 
Austin, Carleigh Wirtzberger, Evan Harris and Mallory Love.

Graveside services were held March 29 at Leland-Stoneville Cemetery.

donations to one of her many "home" churches, The Chapel of Pines in Picayune; 
Benoit Union Church in Benoit; Leland United Methodist Church in Leland; and 
Branson United Methodist Church in Branson. The family would also recommend a

Memorial Hospital and Camellia Home Health for their outstanding care and 
kindness.

Dr. Young was a practicing Optometrist in Laplace, LA and was a member of the
