AIRHART

Mildred Ahrens Airhart. 83, of Slidell, died Friday, Aug. 29, 2008,
at Northshore Regional Medical Center in Slidell.

She was the beloved wife of the late Jake P. Airhart Sr.; mother of Robert J. 
Airhart, Maryann Airhart Thornhill and the late Jake P. Airhart Jr; mother-in-
law of Rodney Thornhill, Margaret Airhart and Marcie Airhart; daughter of the 
late William O. and Clemence G. Ahrens; and sister of the late William O. Ahrens 
Jr., and Henrietta A. Todd.

She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jacob B. Thornhill, Justin P. 
Airhart, Brett P. Airhart and Amanda Heinerichs; and four great-grandchildren, 
Jacques P. Airhart, Aden J. Airhart, Trey Heinerichs and Brady Heinerichs.

She was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Slidell since 1966.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral at Honaker 
Funeral home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West (in Forest Lawn Cemetery), Slidell, at 11 
a.m. Tuesday. 
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetary.

Visitaiton will be Monday from 6-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until funeral 
time.

Donations to the American Cancer Society or Florida Avenue Elementary School 
Library in Slidell or masses preferred, in lieu of flowers.

Chloe R. Anderson passed away on Monday, September 1, 2008 at St. Tammany Parish 
Hospital.

BADON, LEONARD F. 
(June 15, 1912 - September 1, 2008)

Leonard F. Badon passed away on Monday, September 1, 2008 at the age of 96.

Son of the late Joseph and Marie Angeletti Badon. Brother of Marcus H. Badon and 
the late Lester J. Badon, Malcolm J. Badon, Yvonne Badon Aubry, Numa J. Badon, 
Muriel Badon Williams and Upton J. Badon. Also survived by numerous nieces and 
nephews.

Mr. Badon was a native and lifelong resident of Covington where he was a 
volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and a parishioner of St. Peter Catholic 
Church.

Relatives, friends of the family and members of the Charismatic Prayer Group are 
invited to attend the funeral Mass on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at 10:00 AM 
from E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 
with visitation on Tuesday beginning at 9:00 AM.

Interment will follow in Flot Cemetery.

BAKER

Robert C. "Bob" Baker, 57, of Diamondhead, Miss., died on Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, 
in Bay St. Louis.

Bob was owner/operator of Robert C. Baker and Associates in Warrenton, Va., as a 
land surveyor. He was contracted by the FBI to assist with the land surveying of 
the Ruby Ridge confrontation, the Oklahoma City bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah 
Federal Building and the Olympic Park bombing in Atlanta.

Bob was a member of the Dad's Club with Holy Trinity School, and he was an avid 
soccer coach with several recreational soccer teams. His favorite hobby was 
being a ham operator.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Charles and Dorothy Ann Gaughan 
Baker, and his brother-in-law, Arnold Nederveld.

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Marybeth Nederveld Baker; and his 
daughters, Saiva Baker, Mara Baker and Aija Baker, all of Diamondhead; his 
siblings, Ralph Baker of Spokane, Wash., Cynthia Ackerman of Knoxville, Tenn., 
Neil Baker of Kennewick, Wash., and Lawrence Baker of Carriere, Miss.; his 
father and mother-in-law, Leonard and Celine Nederveld Sr., of Diamondhead, and 
his brother-in-law, Leonard Nederveld Sr. and his wife, Jody of Lafayette.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. today at Our Lady of the Gulf 
Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to 
Our Lady Academy, Scholarship Fund, 222 S. Beach Blvd., Bay St. Louis, Miss., 
39520.

Robert Gerard Ball passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at the age of 53.

Beloved husband of Lydia Bedo Ball. Father of Michael Joseph Ball. Step-father 
of Gerald, Jr., Steven, Nicholas and Emily Barron. Grandfather of Brice Barron. 
Son of the late Peggy Cotton and Maurice Ball, Jr. Brother of Susan B. Miller, 
and the late Sandra Ann Ball. Uncle of Jeffrey Miller, Julie Berggren, and 
Hudson Miller, III. Also survived by his faithful friend Ju-Ju.

Mr. Ball was in law enforcement on the northshore for over 25 years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on 
Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 1:00 PM from E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc.,

BEACHNER

On Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, Keith Wesley Beachner, of Mandeville, joined God 
among the stars at the young age of 36.

Husband of Kellie Beachner. beloved father of Kaleb Leo Beachner and Chloe 
Juanita Beachner, he was the son of Charles Beachner and Juanita Burnham and the 
stepson of the late Eva Bailey Beachner. He was the brother of Russell Beachner 
of Lacombe, Marci Green, Traci Bouterie, Wade Beachner of Mandeville, and Kurt 
Beachner of New Market, Md. He is the grandson of the late Norbert Beachner Sr.; 
and the late Josephine Tye Beachner and the late Paul Burnham Sr. and the late 
Helen Ellis Burnham.

His nieces and nephews will sadly miss him. Brandi Green Cannon, Jennifer Green, 
Bryce Green, Kristi McDonald, Wade Beachner Jr., Kirsten Beachner, Kelsey 
Beachner, Kaylee Beachner and his great-nephew Jordan Cannon. A host of aunts, 
uncles and cousins also survive him. 

He was born on July 15, 1972, in Harrisonville, Mo. He was a native of Garden 
City, Mo,, and a resident of Mandeville for 27 years.

Keith was a resident of Pensacola, Fla. for the past five years, he was a 
granite fabricator for eight years and he owned and operated Liquid Designs in 
Mandeville.

For those that knew him they were mesmerized by his passion for his art and for 
the love, he had for others. Even though he is gone in body, his ever loving 
spirit wll remain in our hearts. Relatives and friends of the family are invited 
to attend the funeral. Religious services will be held in the Chapel of Bagnell 
& Son Funeral Home, 75212 Lee Road, Covington on Monday at 11 a.m. Interment in 
Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation after 10 a.m.

Ruby Johnson Bernard, 92, a long-time resident of the Covington area, died on 
September 10, 2008, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Visitation will be from 12 noon until 2:00p.m. on Sunday, September 14, at the 
Landmark Church of God off of Lee Road north of Covington, 20188 Landmark Lane, 
Covington, LA 70433. The service honoring her life will be held at 2:00p.m. at 
the same location.

She was married for fifty years to the late Rev. John M. Johnson. Later in life 
Ruby was married to the late Samuel Bernard. She was preceded in death by one 
infant son, David Johnson, and one granddaughter, Chanda Ladner. She is survived 
by two sons, Myron Johnson and Anthony Johnson, and one daughter, Emily Ladner, 
and one foster daughter, Sylvia Boatner. Ruby is also survived by twelve 
grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Interment in Barker-McManus Cemetery.

BOUTERIE

Edward Daniel "Danny" Bouterie III passed away Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, at St. 
Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington.

He was 45.

Danny was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Mandeville for the past 37 
years.

He was the beloved father of Ian Hano; brother of Constance Beaujeaux, Larry 
Bouterie, Wayne Bouterie and the late Sydney Wacksman; son of the late Sylvia 
Oramous Bouterie and Edward Daniel Bouterie Jr.; and grandson of Elvira Bachemin 
Bouterie and the late Edward Daniel Bouterie Sr. and the late Edna Wilde Oramous 
and Emanuel Oramous.

He was uncle of Heather Beaujeaux, Brian Beaujeaux, Angela Bouterie, Jonathan 
Bouterie and Amanda Poissant.

Danny was a builder in the construction business.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend religious services in the chapel of 
Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, 75212 Lee Road, Covington, on Saturday Sept. 13, 
2008, at 1 p.m. 
Interment will be in Mandeville City Cemetery.

BROOM

Etiennette Andrieu Broom, "Maw Maw," a resident of Slidell, passed to her 
eternal home and to the perfect care of our Lord, on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at 
the age of 77. 

She was born on Feb. 27, 1931, in Lacombe.

Etiennette was the beloved wife of Leroy P. Broom for 59 amazing years. She is 
survived by her children, Jules Broom and his wife Jan of Fredericksburg, Va., 
Camille B. Martin and her husband John, of Thibodaux, and Celeste B. Treille and 
her husband Hugh, of Slidell. "Maw Maw" is the grandmother of Mindy M. Wood and 
her husband Greg, of Prairieville, Jeanne M. Thomas and her husband Tim of Bayou 
Blue, and Etiennette "Ruthie" M. Potter and her husband Shawn, of Covington. 
"Maw Maw" loved her great grandchildren dearly, Gracie and Gannon Wood and 
Gauge, Remington and Alexis Thomas. 

She was preceded in death by her sister, Rosary Andrieu, son Leroy P. Broom II 
and granddaughter, Shannon Broom. Etiennette was the oldest daughter of the late 
Jules and Louise Andrieu and sister of Nora Villairrubia. 

She was a past president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 5735 and a longtime 
member of the Slidell Women's Civic Club, Slidell Ozone Camellia Club, Louisiana 
Nursing Association, Slidell Art League, Guardians of Slidell History and 
Slidell High Fifty Year Club. Etiennette was an office nurse, lab and X-ray 
technician for Dr. H.T. Cook for 40 years. She returned to college after 
retirement to major in fine arts at the University of New Orleans.

She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes. She gave the gift of sight through 
donation of her corneas through the Louisiana Eye Bank. She enjoyed spending 
time with family and friends, gardening, art, the beach and traveling.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services 
with Mass at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 W. Gause Blvd. West, Slidell, at 7:30 
p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008. The Rev. Kyle Dave, celebrant.

A private family inurnment in Forest Lawn Cemetery will be at a later date.

Visitation on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until funeral time.

Contributions to American Cancer Society or March of Dimes in lieu of flowers.

BRUMFIELD

Evelyn S. Brumfield, 78, of Live Oak, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 24, 
2008, after a short illness.

The Clearwater, Fla. native moved to Live Oak in 2001. Brumfield was a homemaker 
and a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

She is survived by four daughters, Doretha and Larry Musgrove of Live Oak, Deby 
and the Rev. Mike Prince of Judsonia, Ark., Diedre and Fred McFarlane of 
Marianna, Fla. and Duana and Todd Baggett of Covington; one son, Dwane and 
Glenda Brumfield of Gulf Breeze, Fla; one sister, Priscilla Boyette of Live Oak; 
13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband the Rev. Robert A. Brumfield.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. 
Mike Prince and the Rev. John Watkins officiating. Interment followed in the 
church cemetery.

BRYAN

Joseph Regnald Bryan, 77, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008.

He was the beloved husband of Dorothy Jean Bryan; father of Darren Bryan and 
Stephen Woodham; grandfather of Rebecca, Rachel, Taylor and Jack Woodham; great-
grandfather of Courtnee Woodham; and brother of Ray Bryan, Marie Boisvert and 
Faye Finedore.

Bryan was born in Opp, Ala., was an Air Force veteran and was a mechanical 
engineering graduate of Auburn University.

He moved to Slidell in 1963 as an engineer for Boeing. 
A local homebuilder and owner operator of The Long Stay Motel. 

Mr. Bryan was a member of Slidell Church of Christ. 
He will be laid to rest in Opp.

Trudy Joyce Carter passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2008 at the age of 
41.

Beloved wife of Raymond Carter. Step-mother of Wyatt Austin Carter. Daughter of 
Brenda Gauthier Howard and Fredric Alan Howard. She is also survived by two 
brothers and their wives, Tommy and Erin Howard and Derek and Leslie Howard; two 
nephews, Justin and Mason Howard; two nieces, Hailey and Presley Howard; and her 
uncle, Warren Gauthier.

She was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Covington for the past 10 
years.

On Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, Scott Allen Cartwright, 43, of Slidell passed away.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Cartwright; son, Evan Cartwright; and 
daughter, Amber Cartwright. He is also survived by his sister, Jacquelyn White; 
brother-in-law, John White; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He will be cremated, and private services will be held at a later date.

CLAUDE

Jarrod Michael Claude was born March 7, 1985, in New Orleans. He was the first-
born son of the two to Gerald Eugene Claude of Slidell and the second born of 
four to Priscilla Delaine (Robert) of Atlanta.

Jarrod was a member of Hartzell Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in
Slidell. He attended Northshore High School and graduated from Youth Challenge 
Program. He also attended Delgado Community College for two years majoring in 
computer science.

Jarrod was employed with AT&T as a sales representative. He had a passion for 
electronics and computers of all kinds.

Jarrod just recently attended his first Claude/ Davillier family reunion in 
August of 2008.

Jarrod was called home unexpectedly on Aug. 15. He was preceded in death by 
paternal grandfather Norvell Claude and maternal grandparents Mary Magee and 
Otta Graves.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his father; Gerald E. Claude of Slidell, LA, 
his mother; Priscilla (Robert) Delaine of Atlanta, GA, four brothers; Damian Rew 
of New Orleans, LA, Jason Claude of Danville, KY, Kreig Delaine (Crystal) and 
Christopher Delaine of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Kiara Delaine of Atlanta, GA; 
paternal grandmother Ella Rose Claude; two nephews, Desmond and Brandon; one 
neice Kamari; godparents Darren Claude and Emma Jean Gordon; one god child, 
Mariya Williams; devoted girlfriend Kayla Vaughn; and a host of aunts, uncles, 
cousins, friends and coworkers. 

During his short time on this earth, Jarrod touched many lives. He will be 
sorely missed, but not forgotten.

Lloyd Vance Collins passed away on Friday, September 12, 2008 at the age of 80.

He was a native of Ashley County, Arkansas, a former resident of Wichita, 
Kansas, Pine Bluff, Arkansas and a resident of Abita Springs for the past 15 
years.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Collins of Abita Springs; his 
daughter and son-in-law, Melody and Roland Huie of Mandeville; two grandsons, 
Roland Huie III of Baton Rouge and Patrick Huie of Mandeville; one brother, 
Billy Collins of Little Rock, Arkansas and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Lillie Collins; two sisters, 
Alice White and Lois Farrar; two brothers, Claude Collins and David L. Collins.

Mr. Collins was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served from 1945-
1952. He retired from International Paper Company in Pine Bluff, Arkansas in 
1990. He was a member of Post 8720 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Abita 
Springs Senior Citizens.

Andrew Jackson Creel, 85, passed away Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008.

A native of Jayess, Miss., he was a resident of Slidell and was a retired rod 
mill operator with Kaiser.

Creel is survived by his wife, Doris Knight Creel; stepchildren, Charles Rester, 
Debbie Rester and Brenda Miller; a sister, Bertha Rush; four grandchildren, 
Michael Wayne Creel, Mark Andrew Creel, Susan Hall and Elizabeth Brandon; five 
great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 
and two step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Malcolm Andrew Creel.

Funeral services will be held today at 1 p.m. in the chapel of D.T. Williams 
Funeral Home, 67525 Louisiana Highway 41, Pearl River. Visitation is from 9 a.m. 
until service time.

Interment will follow at Charter Oak Cemetery, Pearl River.

DUNIGAN

Karen Sue Dunigan, born Dec. 24,1950, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at 
Northshore Regional Medical Center in Slidell.

She was the beloved wife of Jerry Dunigan for the past 38 years and the daughter 
of Millie Barnes Daniel and the late Roy Barnes Sr. She was the sister of Sherri 
Delaughter, Dianne Dunham (Jake), Penny Berlanti and Roy Barnes Jr. She is also 
survived by a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Dunigan was a native of New Orleans, a longtime former resident of Slidell and a 
resident of Sulphur since 1974.

Private services will be held at a later date in Colorado.

Donations in her memory are to made to the Salvation Army, her favorite charity

Eva C. Duplantis, 91, of Slidell, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, at Northshore 
Living Center.

She was the wife of the late Emile J. Duplantis; beloved mother of Sandra D. 
Bradley, Slidell; daughter of the late Huel and Leah Songe Colwort; sister of 
James Colwort and O'Neil Colwort and the late Andrew Colwort, John Colwort and 
Eula Mae Colwort Parr.

She is also survived by three grandchildren, Elizabeth Bradley Simpson,
Kathleen Bradley and Mark Bradley; four great-grandchildren, Michael Dann, 
Alicia Joncyk, Samantha Simpson and Stephanie Simpson; and two great-great-
grandchildren, Abbey Dann and Evan Joncyk.

A native of Houma and resident of Slidell since 1990, she was a parishioner of 
St. Luke the Evangelist Church. She was owner of Ideal Grocery of Houma and an 
avid gardener.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services 
with Mass at St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 910 Cross Gates Blvd., Slidell, at 
11 a.m. today. The Rev. Mark Lomax will be celebrant. 
A private family inurnment will be in St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery, St. Benedict.

Visitation will be at the church after 10 a.m. until funeral time. Donations to 
St. Luke Church Good Samaritan Ministry are preferred in lieu of flowers.

Aline Kinchen FitzSimons passed away on Monday, September 29, 2008.

Beloved wife of the late Francis J. FitzSimons, Jr. Mother of Sheron Conklin of 
Covington, LA, Francis Dale FitzSimons of Baton Rouge, LA, Barbara Moore of 
Baton Rouge, LA and Philip M. FitzSimons of Atlanta, GA. She was the last of 
eleven children of the late Matthew H. and Barbara Welch Kinchen. Also survived 
by 8 grandchildren.

Brother Marian Charles Flowers, O.S.B., monk of Saint Joseph Abbey in Saint 
Benedict, Louisiana, died at Tulane Medical Center on Tuesday, September 16, 
2008, following a lengthy illness. He was 82 years old.

Son of the late Joseph J. Flowers, Sr., and Charlie Purcell Flowers, Brother 
Marian was born August 25, 1926, in Shreveport, LA. He made his profession as 
Benedictine Monk of Saint Joseph Abbey on January 6, 1958. He celebrated his 
Golden Jubilee of Monastic Profession in May of this year. He is survived by his 
sister, Mrs. Ann Lowe of Shreveport, LA, and a brother, Richard L. Flowers of 
Houston, TX. His brothers, Joseph J. Flowers and Louis S. Flowers, and a sister, 
Fannie Abramson, preceded him in death.

Br. Marian's body will be received at 5:30 P.M. on Thursday, September 18, 2008, 
at Saint Joseph Abbey followed by the singing of Vespers. The Funeral Vigil will 
be held at 7:20 P.M. in the Abbey Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 
celebrated on Friday, September 19, 2008, at 11:15 A.M., at St. Joseph Abbey 
followed by burial in the Abbey Cemetery. Arrangements were made by E.J.

John Joseph Ganley passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at the age of 67 
at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA.

Survived by beloved wife, Trudy Wenisch Ganley of 43 years; son John Joseph 
Ganley, Jr and his wife Roseanne of The Woodlands, TX; son Paul William Ganley 
and his wife Kathy of Baton Rouge, LA; and daughter Bridey Ganley Meinecke and 
her husband Gerald of Tomball, TX; brother Tom Ganley and his wife Mary of 
Hilton, NY; sister Alice Schultz and husband Robert of The Villages, FL; 
grandchildren: Madison and Ellie Ganley, Tucker and Corinne Ganley, Megan, 
Abigail and Erin Meinecke. Preceded in death by parents Thomas and Eileen Ryan 
Ganley.

Graduate of United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY in 1962; 
served in active duty in Vietnam until 1964. A Mechanical Engineer who was 
President/Owner of Industrial Parts Specialties, LLC in Port Allen, LA.

Beloved husband of the late Edna Mae Geisinger. Father of Charles J. Geisinger

He was a native of New Orleans and a resident of the northshore for the past 22 
years and was a devoted parishioner of St. Jane de Chantal Catholic Church. Mr. 
Geisinger was a WW II Navy veteran in the Atlantic and Pacific theatres on the 
USS Bulmer DD222 and the USS Albert T. Harris DE 447 from 1942 through 1945.

and Delgado Community College.

HALL

Brian Patrick Hall was born Feb. 24, 1966, in New Orleans to Willie
Stallworth and Laura Elaine Hall Claude. Brian was a member of Beulah Baptist 
Church in Atlanta. He attended Northshore High School in Slidell. Brian was 
employed with American Red Cross for eight years as a warehouse supervisor. He 
had a passion for helping everyone and anyone who needed a helping hand. He also 
worked for General Electric in South Windsor, Conn. for nine years. 

He decided he was needed most at home in Slidell to help his family to recover 
from Hurricane Katrina in August of 2005.

Brian was called home unexpectedly on Sept. 1, 2008. He was loved by so many 
people who will sadly miss him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Laura Elaine Hall Claude and brother 
Barry Curtis Hall.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife; Sandra Y. Hall of Atlanta daughter; 
Sandrina Boyd of Atlanta; father: Willie (Drag) Stallworth Sr. of Slidell; 
maternal grandmother; Laura Edrina Hall of Slidell; four sisters, Wanda M. 
Wright (Travis Jr.) of Atlanta, Bernadine Hall Henderson (Seymour Jr.) of East

Gary L. Hammett, 54, went home to be with the LORD on September 29, 2008 at his 
home in Sun, Louisiana.

Covington, LA on Thursday, October 2, 2008 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A visitation 
at Kingston Road Baptist Church, 8900 Kingston Road, Shreveport, LA will begin

Stephen Teal of Austin, Texas, will be officiating.

Internment will follow at Forest Park West, Cemetery, Shreveport, LA.

Col Hammett was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on September 17, 1954 to H.E. and 
Virginia Hammett. He graduated Woodlawn High School in 1972 and later graduated 
from Louisiana Tech University. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in 
Bogalusa, La. He was a member of the Louisiana National Guard for over 30 years 
of service to his nation, state and community. After retiring from Louisiana 
National Guard, he worked the Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve as the 
Executive Director for nearly five years. Gary was a Life Member of the Veterans 
of Foreign Wars of the United States.

Col Hammett is survived by his wife of 33 years, Robbi Jean Mercer Hammett of 
Sun, La; his mother Ms. Virginia Lucas Hammett of Shreveport, La; his two sons, 
Deputy Jeremy Robert Hammett of Metairie and his wife Rachel; SSG Mark R. 
Hammett, of Covington and his wife Jennifer; Granddaughter Isabella Grace 
Hammett of Covington and two bothers, Colonel Terry G. Hammett of Sibley, La and 
his wife Vallie; Alan Scott Hammett and his wife Paula of Bivens, Texas and

to Tracy Scott and Camay. She was also survived by seven grandchildren and five 
great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Arseneaux Harris; her father, 
William Henry Harris, III; and a brother William Henry Harris.

Age 81 years, a native of New Orleans, LA, she had been a resident of Covington 
for the past 14 years.

She lived her life in the villages of Punjab, India, at the turn of the last 
century, in the East African Jungles in the late twenties, thirties, forties, 
fifties, and sixties, in the towns of India in the mid-sixties and seventies and 
finally in the USA ....until her last days.

This is the kind of life one reads about in books or sees in make-believe 
movies. But, this was reality. Mrs. Hardial Kaur, born on 14 January, 1914 in 
India, she was the youngest of four children. Her father was Sardar Bahadur 
Captain Dr. Kartar Singh who practiced medicine in Kisumu, Kenya. She was just a 
toddler when her mother, Partap Kaur, died.

Mrs. Hardial Kaur married Sardar Jagir Singh. Together, they had six children: 
two sons, Harjit Singh Mangat MD and Balminder Singh Mangat MD; four daughters, 
Ranjit K Sandhu MD, Davinder K Bains MA, Tejinder K Brar MA, and Charanjot K 
Sandhu MSc. D. Pharm.

She never had a formal education beyond primary school, yet her authority left 
little doubt of her scholarship. Always an avid, multi-lingual student, she, 
never-the-less, regretted not having learned English. That lack was no deterrent 
when she undertook a world tour, at the age of 85, with her daughter-in-law, 
Mrs. May Singh, who is Scottish and speaks only English.

Living in New Orleans for the last two decades with her youngest son, Dr. 
Balminder Singh Mangat MD, and his wife Raghubir Kaur Mangat MD and their two 
children, Simrin Singh Mangat and Chathan Singh Mangat, she accepted her losses 
with equal grace and courage including the loss of her husband, Sardar Jagir 
Singh, her son, Dr. Harjit Singh, and her son-in-law, Mr. Balwinderjeet Singh 
Brar.

She is survived by a son, four daughters , two daughters-in-law, 12 grand 
children and 8 great-grand children living all over the globe. From Australia, 
India, England, Germany and the United States, they join together to mourn their 
collective and essential loss which occurred on September 22, 2008.

The last rites will be performed at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st 
Ave., Covington, Louisiana, on September 24, 2008, from 11 am to 2 pm. Following 
the cremation, the recitation of Sikh scriptures will start at their residence 
in Covington.

The beloved husband of Susan Enloe Keen, he is survived by one son; Mark Keen;

In his 40 plus years of service with Bergeron Motors, Mac was a friend to many 
and was the #1 fan of his son's basketball team, the Crown Royals.

He was the husband of the late Karen Ann Larkin; beloved father of Joseph P. 
Larkin, New Orleans, Christina M. Larkin, Chanhaussen, Minn., and Linda K.Larkin 
and Katie L. Chabreck, both of Slidell; father-In-Law of: Christopher S. 
Chabreck; son of Florence N. Larkin, St. Paul, Minn., and the late Robert E. 
Larkin; and brother of Martin Larkin, Michael Larkin and the late Sandra L. 
Schulze.

He is also survived by his best friends for 45 years, Al and Lana Jerabek,and 
their children Lorelei Rauch and Jesse Jerabek of Pewaukee, Wis., and his close 
friend and confidant, Jesse Rosas of Slidell.

A native of Minneapolis and resident of Slidell, he was a U.S. Army veteran 
serving in Germany, former president and member of Ozone Camellia Club; member 
of Krewe of Dionysus and former Indian Guides member with his son. He was owner

Judy Marie Laurendine passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2008. 

She was born April 29, 1952 in New Orleans to the late William Waller and Rose 
Claire Travis Laurendine and has been a resident of Hammond since 2002. 

She lived in Covington for 10 years where she developed a private practice as a 
Clinical Social Worker servicing abused and neglected children. She ended her 
career as a professor of Social Work at Southeastern University from 1998-2005.

Judy is survived by her devoted family: Celeste Skinner, Rowland and Charles 
Skinner and Jessica Flick; one brother, Thomas T. Laurendine; three sisters: 
Joan L. Scanlan, Ginger L. Knower, Cindy Rose Arceneaux; her granddaughter, 
Madeline E. Harper; Billy Laurendine and a multitude of nieces, nephews and 
loving friends.

Jack Willard Lemons passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2008.

Beloved son of the late John D. Lemons and the late Marguerite Lamousin Lemons, 
he is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was 
preceded in death by a sister, Marie L. Stanga; and four brothers, George, John, 
Robert and James Lemons.

Age 89 years, he was a native and lifelong resident of Abita Springs, LA, where 
he was Postmaster for 32 years. He attended school in Abita Springs, graduating 
from Lyon High School and further attending Louisiana State University where he 
was a member of the ROTC. 

A United States Army Air Force veteran, he served during World War II, as a Crew 
Chief on the B17 Bomber. 

A lifetime member of St. Jane de Chantal Catholic Church, he served on the Abita 
Springs Town Council and was a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America. He 
was a 60 year member of the Abita Springs Fire Department, where he served as 
Fire Chief and Training Director. He also served on the Fire Board as its 
chairman. He was a Charter Member of the St. Tammany Fireman's Association, and 
a Lifetime Member of the Louisiana State Fireman's Association. He was a member 
of the American Legion for 51 years, Genealogy Society, Retired Postmasters 
Association, and was Citizen of the Century in Abita Springs.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a funeral mass on 
Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at 12:00 Noon at St. Jane de Chantal Catholic 
Church, 72040 Maple St., Abita Springs, LA 70420.

Visitation at the Church will begin at 9:00 AM on Wednesday.

Doris Taylor Lipscy, 75, of Slidell, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, at 
Northshore Regional Medical Center.

She was the beloved wife of the late Elroy Lipscy for 58 years. She was the 
mother of Deborah Woods (Ferman Woods), Gus Lipscy, Lynn Rice (Wayne Rice), Mark 
Burge and Paul Lipscy (Sabrina Lipscy); daughter of the late Charles A. Taylor 
Sr. and Helen Stein Taylor; and sister of Maxine Danner (Robert Danner) and the 
late Charles A. Taylor Jr.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and was 
preceded in death by one grandson.

A native of New Orleans and a resident of Slidell for the past 35 years, Mrs. 
Doris was the retired cafeteria manager at Carolyn Park Elementary School in 
Slidell.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. 
West (in Forest Lawn Cemetery). 
Interment followed in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Donations to the St. Jude Children's Hospital are preferred in lieu of flowers.

Thomas Louis Logan, Jr. (Tommy), passed away in Dillon, Colorado on Thursday, 
September 11, 2008. Tommy was born on November 21, 1965 in Metairie, LA.

He is survived by his parents, Tom and Melba Logan of Abita Springs, LA; sister, 
Kama Fischer and her husband Steve and their children Cassidy and Ashley of 
Abita Springs, LA; brother, Patrick Logan his wife Kelly and their children 
Emily and Nathan of Spring, TX; and maternal grandmother Nell Harrell of 
Covington, LA. Tommy is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins in the 
Binghamton, N.Y. and Virginia Beach, VA area, as well as numerous friends in 
Conroe, TX.

Tommy loved outdoor activities, skiing in Colorado or fishing in Texas, South 
Louisiana and Arkansas. Nothing excited him more than catching a big fish from 
his childhood to the final year of his life. He especially enjoyed fishing with 
his father.

St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington.

He was the beloved husband of Leslie McLaughlin Mackenroth for the past seven 
years; father of Michelle Spiers, Gail Mackenroth and the late Robert Michael 
Mackenroth; stepfather of Amanda Spinks and Sarah Francingues; son of the late 
George H. and Ethel J. Mackenroth; and brother of Robert L. Mackenroth, Kathy 
Parker, Debbie Botts, Sissy Seal and Roy Donaldson.

He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A native of Slidell and a resident of Folsom for the past 16 years, he was a 
graduate of Slidell High School and Southeastern Louisiana University.

Mackenroth was a retired certified public accountant and member of the AICPA and 
the LSCPA.

MADISON

Robert J. "Buddy" Madison was a native and longtime resident of Slidell. Born on 
March 24, 1920, he passed away on Aug. 29 at 88 years of age.

Buddy graduated from Slidell High School, where he received the "Best Athlete 
Award." Buddy graduated from Pearl River Community College on a football and 
baseball scholarship and later was inducted into the PRCC Sports Hall of Fame. 
Buddy graduated from Southeastern Louisiana College with a B.S. in Science 
Education and received his M.S. in Mathematics from the University of Southern 
Mississippi.

He played with the Andalusia Rams, the minor league team for the St. Louis 
Cardinals, until a knee injury caused his early retirement from baseball.

A U.S. Army Air Corps veteran serving during WWII, Buddy taught chemistry and 
physics in Morgan City and at Slidell High School and mathematics at William 
Carey College and was an assistant professor of computer science at Southeastern 
Louisiana University. Buddy was one of the founding members of Aldersgate 
Methodist Church. He was an avid golfer and ballroom dancer and was active in 
the Slidell GOSH, SHS Alumni Association and PRCC Alumni Association.

Recently he fulfilled a lifelong dream by writing his first book titled "A 
Calculus Primer."

Buddy is survived by his wife, Betty Broaddus Madison; three daughters, Leah 
Cheshire and husband Vince of Slidell, Kathy Wilson and husband John of West 
Monroe, and Carol Ludden and husband Brendan of Brandon, Fla., as well as his 
stepdaughter Lynn Kesselring of Slidell and stepson James Kesselring and wife 
Sylvia of Oregon.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and five 
step-great-grandchildren along with one brother, Francis Madison and wife 
Maisie; two sisters, Ellen Goodman and husband Vince and Noelle Embree.

Buddy was preceded in death by his first wife, Karla Neuhauser Madison; his 
mother and father, Marie Antoinette Lagman Madison and A.B. Carl Madison; two 
brothers, Carl Jr. and Ralph Madison; and two sisters, Georgia and Mary Madison.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral
services at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 360 Robert Blvd., Slidell, at 
noon Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008. The Rev. Chris Andrews and the Rev. John Williams 
will officiate.

Interment will be in Dubuisson Lawn Cemetery at a later date.

All visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until noon.

On Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, Dennis Mann Sr., 63, of Pearl River, passed away.

son, Ronald B. Faye; and two daughters, Darla Mann and Donna Ross Mann.

He is also survived by one brother, Joe Mann; eight grandchildren, Ryan Faye, 
Randy Faye, Savannah Faye, Yoga Mann, Joshua Ross, Matthew Ross, Tyler Ramil and 
Jaylynn Fayard; and three great-grandchildren, Kevin Kelly, Devin Kelly and 
Taylor Metz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Helen Mann, and one son,

Lemoine and the late Marvin Chatelain, Donald Chatelain and Ralph Chatelain.

She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Antony, Kenneth, Jr., Amanda, Austin, 
Ashley, Christopher, Michelle, Matthew, Sara and Stephanie and 9 great 
grandchildren; Kelsey, Patrick, Antony Jr., Melania, Hunter, Brett, Alexandria, 
Macy and Emmeline.

A native of Moreauville, a longtime former resident of New Orleans and a 
resident of the Northshore for the past 15 years, she was a retired employee for 
the Federal Reserve Bank in New Orleans and a devoted parishioner of St. Luke 
the Evangelist Catholic Church in Slidell.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Emily H. Bouey; one son, James C.

Nellie Haddad Parker, 80, of Slidell, passed away on Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, at 
Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg, Miss. after a long illness.

Parker was the beloved mother of Randy Philip Parker of Nashville, Tenn.
She was the daughter of the late Philip Nasrhalla Haddad and Marie Gazel Haddad, 
and the sister of Adele Haddad Owens of Dallas, Nebeha Haddad Broom of Slidell, 
Elizabeth Haddad Fogg of Slidell and the late Philip N. Haddad Jr., Violet 
Haddad Moore and Jeanette Haddad McDaniel.

She is also survived by two grandsons, Jared and Jordan Parker, and many nieces 
and nephews.

Parker was a native and lifelong resident of Slidell. She was a dedicated 
employee of the City of Slidell working in the finance department and retiring 
after 31 years. 

A devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, also attending St. Margaret 
Mary Church due to Hurricane Katrina where she resided at Azalea Estates.

John H. Pott, III was born September 24, 1924 in Kansas City, MO and passed away 
September 2, 2008.

He served in the United States Navy as a pilot and joined Chicago & Southern 
Airlines as a pilot in 1950. He married Alice Gossman on May 31, 1947. He 
retired from Delta Air Lines in 1984.

He is survived by his wife Alice G. Pott; his children, Julianne P. Derbes, 
Christine P. Caldwell, John H. Pott, IV and Andrew Pott; 9 grandchildren, to 
whom he was known as "Pockie" and 5 great-grandchildren.

Beloved wife of the late Harold Leon Robbins, Jr.; loving mother of Heather

She was preceded in death by her mother, Eldoras Mae Rough Bucher and her

Age 71 years, she was a native of Berwick, PA and a resident of Folsom, LA for 
the past 3 years, she was a former resident of Metarie, LA for 34 years. She was 
a retired Telephone Operator with South Central Bell now known as AT&T.

of Slidell and the late Joe, Holmes, Placide, Ralph, Forrest and Luther Moran, 
Anna Moran Moore, Frankie Cora Moran Broussard, Iola Moran and Ruby Dee Moran.

She is also survived by three grandchildren, Clark B. Moore and wife Stephanie, 
Clayton R. Moore and wife Margaret and Abigail Moore; and four great-
grandchildren, Katie, Kayla, Kyle and Karlee.

A native of Covington and a longtime resident of Slidell, she was a member of 
First Baptist Church of Slidell, Faith Sunday School Class, founding member of 
Ozone Camellia Club, LeCotillion Club, Slidell Lioness Club and Past President 
of Bayou Liberty Garden Club.

Religious services were held Monday at First Baptist Church, Slidell.

retired from Tulane Medical Center.

The beloved mother of Harold Hunt, Mary Ferguson and Sophie Rutherford, she is 
survived by eight grandchildren: Hilda Hinson, Harold and Carrie Lynn Hunt, 
Shelby and Emily Ferguson, Elliotte, Jeremiah, Elijah Rutherford and four great-
grandchildren: Allison and Scott Hinson, Tapanga Hunt and Emily Graffanini. She 
is also survived by one brother, James Lavigne and seven sisters: Catherine 
Hulin, Janet Taylor, Helen Marange, Teresa and June Lavigne, Trudy Heck and 
Hazel Keating.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sophie Louise Raiford and Lula Admile 
McIntyre.

Shelby Eugene "Gene" Russ passed away on Friday, September 19, 2008. 

He was born February 25, 1932 in Wilmington, NC to the late Shelby and Thelma 
Rogers Russ, was a resident of New Orleans for 23 years and both Mandeville and 
Orange Beach, AL for the past 15 years.

The beloved husband of Lucile Barden Russ, he is survived by one daughter, 
Lugene Russ Naparalla; his son, Shelby E. Russ, Jr.; son-in-law, Chuck 
Naparalla; daughter-in-law, Susan Chaytor Russ and five grandchildren: Caroline 
E., Shelby E., III and Zachary W. Russ, Grace C. and Claire E. Naparalla.

Upon graduation from East Carolina University in 1954, he was commissioned as an 
officer in the United States Air Force serving as a pilot. He began his 
professional career in Wilmington, NC with the Remington Rand Company. This 
career took him to corporate executive positions in New York, NY and Marietta, 
OH. He moved to New Orleans in 1970 serving as Regional Manager for Remington 
Rand. In 1976, he started aos/Associated Office Systems which is still based in 
New Orleans.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services 
on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 11:00 AM from New Covenant Presbyterian

SANDER, FR. FRANCIS JOHN 
(March 20, 1923 - September 28, 2008)

Father Francis John Sander, O.S.B., monk of Saint Joseph Abbey in Saint 
Benedict, Louisiana, died at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond on Sunday 
morning, September 28, 2008. He was 85 years old.

Son of the late Edward M. Sander and Mary F. Tabony, Father Francis was born in 
New Orleans, Louisiana on March 27, 1923. He made his profession as a 
Benedictine monk of Saint Joseph Abbey on August 25, 1944 and was ordained as a 
priest on June 7, 1949.

Fr. Francis in survived by his nephew Oceola Probst, his niece Elaine Castelen, 
and great nephews Rusty Probst and Randy Probst. Preceded in death by his 
brother, Edward Sander and his sisters, Elaine Sander and Adelaide Probst both 
of New Orleans.

He served as Pastor at Saint Peter Catholic Church in Covington (1969-1972) and 
at Saint Jane de Chantal in Abita Springs (1972-1994). Upon his retirement to 
the abbey, he ministered to those who came to him for counseling and the 
Sacrament of Reconciliation. He was assigned Chaplain to Mary Queen Monastery in 
Tickfaw in May 2003, serving the Benedictine sisters there until his death.

Father Francis's body will be received on Thursday, October 2, 2008 at 5:30 P.M. 
at Saint Joseph Abbey followed by the singing of Vespers. Later that evening at 
7:15 P.M. a Funeral Vigil will be held in the Abbey Church. The Mass of 
Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 3, 2008, at 11:15 A.M., 
at Saint Joseph Abbey followed by burial in the Abbey Cemetery.

Jeanette Mullet Schenck passed away on Monday, September 8, 2008. 

She was born August 5, 1937 in New Orleans to Lucille Dugas Mullet and the late 
Wilbert Mullet and has been a resident of Big Branch/Mandeville for over 40 
years.

The beloved wife of the late William E. Schenck, she is survived by three sons; 
William, Jr., Michael and Craig Schenck; three daughters: Pamela S. Laviolette, 
Patricia S. Hoffman and Susan S. Nelson; one brother, Wilbert Mullet, Jr.; three 
sisters: Gloria M. Woll, Beverly M. Goodwin, Carolyn M. Fremin; 25 grandchildren 
and five great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Schenck.

Henry Z. Sour Jr., 75, of Slidell, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at 
11:56 p.m. at his home in Slidell.

He was the beloved husband of JoAnn Arcoleo Sour; father of Lisa Sour Billings 
and husband Lane Charles Billings and Henry Gerard Sour; son of the late Henry 
Z. Sour Sr. and Sarepta Robert Sour; brother of Joyce S. Laughlin and her late 
husband Patrick Laughlin and Robert Michael Sour and wife Joy Sour; and brother-
in-law of Miriam Arcoleo Culotta and her husband Joseph Culotta.

He is also survived by two grandchildren, Corey Lane Billings and Stephanie 
Marie Billings, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A native of Gretna, a former longtime resident of New Orleans and a resident of 
Slidell for the past 18 years, he served his country in the U.S. Navy. He 
retired as an insurance underwriter in the Greater New Orleans area, and for the 
past 10 years, he worked for the National Finance Center of the U.S. Department 
of Agriculture.

He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Luke the Evangelist 
Parish in Slidell and along with his wife was a longtime parishioner.

The family of Mr. Sour would like to thank the staff of the Slidell Adult 
Daycare Center, Goodwill Hospice and Miriam Pichon and Barbara Davis for all 
their love and support throughout this time.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral Mass at 
St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 910 Cross Gates Blvd., Slidell,

He is also survived by five grandchildren, Mariah Tierney-Smith, Alexis Tierney,

River for the past four years, Mr. Tierney was a U.S. Navy veteran and an

battle with cancer.

also preceded in death by her parents, Lowrey and Audrey Redd.

Parish, LA for the past 5 years. Ms. Turner dedicated her life to serving others 
as a hospice nurse.

VERZWYVELT

Francis "Grip" Joseph Verzwyvelt Jr., born on February 25, 1939, in Alexandria, 
passed away from cancer on Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, at the Hospice Ministries in-
patient hospice facility in Ridgeland, Miss. after evacuating for Hurricane 
Gustav.

A 40 year retiree of Union Pacific Railroad, Golden Glove boxer, U.S. Marine and 
a pillar to the Catholic Community, Verzwyvelt is survived by his four 
daughters, Karen Lynn V. Morehouse, Brenda Marie V. Pomes, Dorothy Jean V. 
Gilbert and Frances Ann Verzwyvelt. He is also survived by 12 of his other 
brothers and sisters and eight grandchildren including: Richard, Joseph and 
Sandi Ann Morehouse, Steven and Renee Pinac, Roy and Lauren Pomes and Daniel 
Gilbert. Stepchildren included are Donnie and Vincent Martino and Linda Martino-
Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Hattie Mae Verzwyvelt, one 
brother, David Verzwyvelt and 2 wives, Betty and then Pauline Verzwyvelt.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass at 11 
a.m. Saturday at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. W. (In Forest Lawn

Edith Josephine Crowe Wehrman passed away on Friday, September 19, 2008. 

She was born September 10, 1922 in Keezletown, VA to the late Marvin Watts and 
Edna Argenbright Crowe and has been a resident of Mandeville since 2003.

The beloved wife of Kenneth E. Wehrman, she is survived by two daughters, Teresa 
Jo Knight and Keni Lynn Dillon; one son, Edward B. Wehrman; her sister, Irene C. 
Dean and she was "Grammy" to eight grandchildren: Sidney "S.E.", Patrick, Jessie 
Jo, Brass, Chance, Phoebe, Samantha and Olivia. She was preceded in death by two 
brothers, Ralph W. and William L. Crowe and her sister, Reba C. Hall.

Josephine served her country in WW II from 1944-1946 as a flight attendant with 
the Woman's Air Corps (WAC). She was also a dedicated member of St. Timothy 
United Methodist Church in Mandeville, LA.

Michael Gene Wright, 65, of Pearl River, passed away Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008. 
He was a manager for Bowling USA in Slidell.

Wright is survived by his wife, Gail Wright; three sons, Tony Wright, Buddy 
Kelch (wife Kera) and Danny Kelch; and six daughters, Michelle Wright, Deann 
Wright, Marcie Stegger, Kelle Cline (husband Jack), Jodi Kelch and Tammy Guyton 
(husband David).

He is also survived by two brothers, Jessie and Dana Wright; a sister, Becky 
Heyes; 17 grandchildren, including Christian Kelch and Cameron Kelch; and one 
great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Neal Wright and sister Tammy 
Wright.

Wright is to be cremated.

WOLCOTT

George A. Wolcott, 86, of The Woodlands, Texas, formerly of Houston and Tomball, 
passed away Sept. 20, 2008 in The Woodlands.

He was born Sept. 27, 1921, in Slidell to Charles "Chauncey" and Augusta 
"Gussie" Wolcott. He was the oldest of four brothers and three sisters.

George was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Dorothy Wolcott.

He is survived by his daughters, Avon Wolcott Taylor and husband Orville and 
Georgann Wolcott; brothers, Behanke Wolcott and Mack Wolcott; sisters, Margaret 
Elander and Launa Smith; grandchildren, Todd Taylor, Danielle Thomas, Sean 
Taylor, George Douglas Clement and Ryan Taylor; nine great-grandchildren; and 
many other family members and friends.

George was a POW during World War II. He was parts manager for McCain Richards 
Ford Dealership and part owner of Mid-South Oil Supply Co., both in Monroe.

George was also the owner of the Ditch Witch dealership in Baton Rouge and then 
in Houston from the early 1970s through 1984.

He was on the Board of Directors at Sunbelt Bank until it was acquired by Wells 
Fargo. He was an avid rancher in east Texas.

Funeral services are set for 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, at Forest Park 
The Woodlands Funeral Chapel with a reception to follow at Forest Park The 
Woodlands Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, in Oakwood 
Cemetery, Ft. Worth.
