She was the beloved wife the late Joseph Louis Heim Sr. by first marriage and the late Harry Anderson by second marriage; mother of Joseph Louis Heim Jr., Georgie A. Sill and the late Catherine East, Josephine Wagner, Frank Heim Sr. and Benny Heim; and daughter of the late Benedetto DiMacco and Josephine Culotta DiMacco. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 35 great- grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. A native of New Orleans and a resident of Slidell since 1980, Anderson was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Slidell. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pearl River, 32nd degree mason, past master of Pearl Lodge 456 and a member of Shriners. He is survived by his wife, Louise Moran Hudson; two sons, Johnny and Ronny Hudson; and daughter, Sylvia LaCoste. He is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Bessie Hudson; brother, Robert Hudson; and two sisters, Inez Marshall and Helen Dean. He is survived by his three children, Mark S. McAdams Sr., Melanie Bailey and Michelle Martufi; grandchildren, Mark McAdams Jr., Elizabeth Kaplan, Jeffrey McAdams, Brandon McAdams, Taylor Bailey, Sarah McAdams and Madeleine Martufi; and one great-grandchild, Luke McAdams. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Robinson. He was the son of the late Irwin McAdams Sr. and Bernice Myers McAdams. Irwin was a lay minister and a great student of the Word of God. He helped so many with God's gifts of wisdom and faith. He will be so sadly missed by his family and those who sat under his teaching ministry. He was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School and LSU. He graduated from Syracuse University as a Russian language specialist with honors. He was deployed by the U.S. Air Force, to Darmstadt, Germany, during the Korean War. He was an international courier later in his life and circled the world over 50 times. Born in Hutchinson, Kan., he was raised in Gulfport. He was a 1975 graduate of Biloxi High School and attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. He was a member of Fernwood Baptist Church and served in the US Air Force. He was also an avid fisherman. He also served as First Vice-Chairman of the Southwest Louisiana Chapter of the American Petroleum Institute from 1953-1954; President of South Louisiana Geological Society, Lake Charles, Louisiana in 1954; President of LSU School of Geology Alumni Association from 1956-1957; Member of Board of Directors of New Orleans Geological Association from 1971-1974; Member of Houston Geological Society; Member of American Association of Petroleum Geologist Society of Independent Professional Earth Scientist from 1948-1993; Member IPAA; Member of Board of Directors of Tchefuncta Club Estates and Tchefuncta Country Club. He retired in 1993. He was a lifelong avid hunter, golfer and LSU fan. He showed his passion for the outdoors and LSU with his many friends and family. Professionally, Ben was an owner of Concrete Controls, which produced chemical admixtures for industrial construction, and he worked with T.L. James & Co. on building the second span of the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway. The company had plants in New Orleans, La. and Ponce, Puerto Rico. Later, Ben became a banker with First NBC, and then was a partner in the municipal bond firm of Ladd Dinkins & Co. for many years until his retirement. Ben was a devoted Rotarian, and a Paul Harris Fellow; he was also a member of the Louisiana Club, Sons of the American Revolution, Serra Club, Pontchartrain Yacht Club, Southern Yacht Club, Lakeshore Club, and several carnival organizations. Always optimistic, Kay was a strong fighter that never let her personal trials be a burden to any of her family or friends. Kay is survived by her husband of four years, Jeff Watson, Lacombe; parents, June and Robert Fisher of Plymouth, Wis.; her son, Charles Edward Koserog Jr. of Monroe; previous husband of 20 years E.K. Koserog of Monroe; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many dear and true friends from her childhood and throughout her teaching career. As a child, Kay and her parents traveled the south central United States for 12 years as members of the carnival amusement circuit. Throughout this time she attended several different schools in Arkansas, Alabama, Florida and Wisconsin. She obtained her high school diploma from Montgomery High School in Alabama. As an adult she proudly served her country for four years as an active duty flight line and jet mechanic in the U.S. Air Force. She obtained her college degree in education from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 1988. Kay began her teaching career in Monroe and remained a devoted science teacher the rest of her life. She was a long time standing member of the Epsilon State of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Louisiana chapter society for educators. Kay enjoyed reading, travel, concerts, taking road trips to the beach with her girlfriends, along with teaching, listening and helping her many students over the years. She will always be remembered as a caring, concerned, involved and supportive mother, a devoted daughter and wife and a true and trustworthy friend. She was ardent about living life to the fullest and truly had a heart of gold. Kay never took her blessings for granted. We thank God for sharing her with us for the time we had her. Though she will be missed deeply, she will always be with in the hearts of her family until they are united with her again. Her face will be the brightest one shining, when it is their turn to return to our Father. She is survived by her parents, Gary and Jane Halley; sisters, Amy Willis (Gary) and Chris Rider (Ken); her maternal grandmother Vertis Zaaayer; and several nieces and nephews. Halley's family moved from Ohio to Slidell in 1969, and she attended Slidell schools, graduating from Slidell High in 1979. She continued her education studying for a music degree at the University of New Orleans. After college, she worked at North American Insurance Company in New Orleans. Later, she began her illustrious career in merchandising starting as an employee of Perlis, Inc. and later in her family's clothing business, Halley & Co. in Slidell. She was well loved and respected for her personal care and service to her customers. Most recently she was employed at Dillard's. During her life, she pursued many interests including expressions of her considerable musical talents and her need to help disadvantaged children. She was a CASA volunteer and requests donations be made to the CASA program in lieu of flowers. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Slidell and was very active in their youth and music programs as a teenager. She was recently a member of the handbell choir there. He is also survived by his brother, Jack Cedarleaf. His values and principles will live through his children Kay McKnight and husband, Cleve, Carol Chapman and husband, Thomas, Jan Kellett, Calvin Cedarleaf and wife, Mary Pat, and Russell Cedarleaf and wife, Angel. He is also survived by ten grandchildren: Ryan and Ashley McKnight, Jeffrey and Bryan Chapman, Kacie and Kyle Kellett, Jennifer Cedarleaf, Keith and Jourdan Fincher, and Taylor Cedarleaf. He was a WWII veteran serving in France and Germany with the United States Army and was awarded the Purple Heart with two clusters. He received a Masters in Geology from the Univ. of Minnesota. He was employed by Chevron for 34 years and retired as Chief Geologist. His long career there lead him to reside in Albuquerque, NM, Oklahoma City, OK, Bakersfield, CA, San Francisco, CA, and Slidell, LA. His great love of the lake place in Minnesota is a dear gift that he shared with his entire family. His kind-heartedness and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all. She again worked as a legal secretary for several local attorneys, including Gus Fritchie Jr. which led her to being appointed Clerk of Slidell City Court. She remained Slidell City Clerk of Court for 20 years under City Court Judges Gus Fritchie and James Strain. She was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and a member of Guardians of Slidell History. She was also a lifetime notary who served for 20 years on the St. Tammany Parish Notarial Examination Committee. "Bub" Pratt, II died suddenly but peacefully at home Wednesday, July 22, 2009. The son of the late Ruby Reynolds and Walter Sr., he was born June 4, 1928, in Chesapeake City, Md., and spent his boyhood in Washington, D.C. Bub was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, sailing the Pacific Theatre during the Korean Conflict. Upon discharge from the Navy, he continued his career as an electronics engineer in the private sector in Norfolk, VA., for 20 years until his relocation to Slidell in 1974. He concluded his career from New Orleans as a merchant marine by going back to sea as a ship's communication officer. Bub made many friends in the area and will be greatly missed by them, including those he considered to have been privileged to serve with at Slidell American Legion Post 185; he was especially proud to have been a member of their Color Guard for many years and to help honor fellow veterans. Surviving him are daughters, Mary Hope, Angelia and Kay; sons, Tommy and Rusty and caring son-in-law Dan. He also leaves 10 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren, who loved him dearly. Darwin Clyde Cedarleaf passed away at peace in Slidell He was born, raised and married in St. Paul, Minn., and was the loving husband of 57 years and is survived by Inez. He is also survived by his brother, Jack Cedarleaf. His values and principles will live through his children Kay McKnight and husband, Cleve, Carol Chapman and husband, Thomas, Jan Kellett, Calvin Cedarleaf and wife, Mary Pat, and Russell Cedarleaf and wife, Angel. He is also survived by ten grandchildren: Ryan and Ashley McKnight, Jeffrey and Bryan Chapman, Kacie and Kyle Kellett, Jennifer Cedarleaf, Keith and Jourdan Fincher and Taylor Cedarleaf. He was a WWII veteran serving in France and Germany with the United States Army and was awarded the Purple Heart with two clusters. He received a Masters in Geology from the University of Minnesota. He was employed by Chevron for 34 years and retired as Chief Geologist. His long career there lead him to reside in Albuquerque, N.M., Oklahoma City, Okla., Bakersfield, Calif., San Francisco and Slidell. His great love of the lake place in Minnesota is a dear gift that he shared with his entire family. His kind-heartedness and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all. Placek was born in New Orleans and was stranded in Czechoslavakia as a child during World War II. She returned to the U.S. after the war. She graduated Newcomb College in 1953 with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. She worked as a chemist for the Department of Agriculture and was co-founder with Alex Keller of the Institute for the Realization of Personal Potential.
