A long time resident of Covington, he was born October 13, 1945 in New Orleans to the late John Voryce and Harriet Cady Clement. The beloved husband of Elizabeth "Betty" Siren Clement for 24 years, he is survived by the mother of his children, Gwendolyn Cosgrove Clement; three sons: Jeffrey Noel (Ashely), Timothy Andrew (Donna) and Jody Emmanuel Clement (Angela); two daughters, Wendy Love Lathrop and Ginger Clement Foy and one sister, Sandra Clement Nardelle (Warren). He is the grandfather of Hayden, Trinity, Noelle, Cady, Timmy, Toby, Drew, Cory, Elise, Milan and Kaelan. He is also survived by a host of extended family and close friends. He is survived by his four children; son, Steven Hoff and daughter-in-law, Sherri Hoff; daughter, Darlene Landaiche and son-in-law, Ron Landaiche III; daughter, Marlene Hoff and son, Brandon Hoff and daughter-in-law, Eileen Hoff; four grandchildren, Brandon, Ian, Michael and Beaux; brothers, Milbert, Clarence, Alton and Jake. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Marie Pilet Hoff; his parents, Jacob J. Hoff and Lydia Arnold Hoff; brothers Reuben and Erving; and sisters, Ida, Christine, Ann and Hilda. He grew up in Aberdeen, S.D., and was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a longshoreman on the New Orleans waterfront until his retirement, then moved to Slidell and remained there the rest of his life. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Lesniak is a retiree of the St. Bernard Clerk of Courts, a member of the St. Bernard VFW Post 7194 Ladies Auxiliary and a former volunteer in nursing homes and hospitals for many years. She enjoyed dancing, shopping and playing bingo at the Senior Citizens Center in Slidell. She had a wonderful life with Art who took such great care of her even through many surgeries. Art brought her on many trips especially to visit his family, which she loved dearly and we know they loved her as well. Art treated our mother like she was a queen and we will be forever grateful to him. Mom loved sharing her good nature with family and friends and she will be dearly missed. Thanks Mom for being such a special blessing in our lives. He was the beloved husband of Lucille Sheridan Moore for the past 49 years and father of Ricky Marshall (wife, Sharron) of Jacksonville, Fla., Jeffrey Moore (wife, Tammie) of Cary, N.C., Ronald Moore (wife, Andrea) of Fuquay-Varina, N.C., Travis Moore (wife, Leslie) of Cedar Hill, Texas, and Tiffany Moore Fowler (husband, Brant) of Baton Rouge. He was the son of the late Willie Coleman and Disoco Moore and the twin brother of Charles Moore (wife, Dolores) of Mandeville. He was the proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren, Chauncey Marshall, Thadius Jones, Kendra Marshall, Jessica Moore, Kendall Moore, Brant Fowler II and Kyle Moore; and the great-grandfather of two, Jordan and Xavier. Moore was a devoted deacon and superintendent of the Sunday school at Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church. He sung with the Fireside Gospel Singers for more than 50 years and was on the Planning and Zoning Board for the city of Mandeville. Also, he was a retired educator who served the St. Tammany Parish School System for more than 34 years, 25 as the assistant principal at Covington High School. Beloved wife of Louis M.Gavin to whom she was married for 55 years but started dating at age 16. Norma is the loving mother of Andrew B. Gavin, Daniel D. Gavin and Matthew D. Gavin, grandmother of Benjamin Gavin and Madeline Gavin who reside in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was born in Lawrence County Pennsylvania on a 250 acre dairy farm owned by her parents Helen Reid Gleghorn and Willis Gleghorn and she is the sister of Elaine Brooks who lives in New Jersey. She was the valedictorian of her high school graduating class and is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a BA in Journalism. For a short time she worked for a Denver Colorado newspaper, and later worked as the administrative assistant at the Moriah Synaggue in Highland Park, Illinois and she held a similar position at the Sherime Synagogue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. And later after when she and her husband Louis retired to Mandeville, she was the assistant to the Headmaster of the Hebrew Day School in Metairie. Her husband Louis' work with an international financial firm required a number of relocations which included stays in New Castle, Pennsylvania, Youngstown, Ohio, Cleveland, Ohio Detroit, Michigan, Dearborn Michigan, Louisville, Kentucky, Dallas, Texas, Deerfield, Illinois, Chicago, Illinois, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Norma was a community activist. While living in Deerfield, Illinois she was elected for two terms to the Deerfield City Council and was the chief negotiator for the city of Deerfield with the Police Department. She also served as the President of the Illinois State League of Women Voters. She chaired the Deerfield organization called CHILD whose purpose was to help children with learning disabilities. She also led the project to help develop senior housing in Deerfield and was president of the Presbyterian Church Couples Club. She received the Distinguished Service Award for her work on the Illinois Bicentennial Commission. When she and her husband retired to Mandeville, she served on the Board of Directors of the Lakeview Regional Medical Center and on the Board of the Lallie Kemp Medical Center in Independence. She held directorships on the Board of the Youth Service Bureau where she served as an active Court Appointed Special Advocate assisting children living in foster homes, the Mandeville Trail Head, the St. Tammany Parish League of Women as well as a past president. For the League she was an observer at all the St. Tammany Parish Council meetings keeping the Councilpersons on their toes. In addition she was the editor of "The Voter", a League publication. She was known for her quick and outrages sense of humor. She was an accomplished pianist and vocalist. Born in Plankinton, S.D., Oct. 23, 1920, she was the daughter of Florence Belding Auld and Glenn Hoon Auld. She graduated from Grand Island Business College in Nebraska and worked for the Department of the Navy during World War II. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Gerald Edward "Jerry" Gotschall, in 1990. She lovingly supported his career moves as an FBI agent and later as a petroleum landsman for John Mecom Sr., General Crude Oil and International Paper, making homes for their family in Bloomington, Ill., Denver, Falls Church, Va., New Orleans, Covington and Conroe. In addition to her gifts as wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker, Jane was a talented musician, athlete and bridge player. She was a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church in Conroe, where she was an indispensable and gifted Sunday School teacher, piano accompanist, and choir member. She was an instrumental member of the planning committee for the relocation and building program of the church and spent much of her time in church-related volunteer activities. She was recognized as Woman of the Year and awarded an Honorary Lifetime Membership by The Presbyterian Women Of The Church last spring in recognition of her many services to the church. Jane served as an elder, both in the Covington Presbyterian Church and in her current church home. Jane's circle of friends was extensive and included her many tennis, bridge and golf partners and opponents. She played league tennis, golf and bridge for River Plantation groups and taught bridge at Montgomery County Community College. She loved to travel and included friends and family whenever possible. She continued a tradition she and Jerry began 35 years ago to bring their children and grandchildren together for a week each summer to enjoy each others' company. In recent years, the usual venues at Texas or Florida beaches also included memorable family trips to Hawaii, France and a Caribbean cruise. Jane will be missed by her children, Bob and wife Teboota, David and wife Kay, Ann and husband Edward Sharp, and Glenn and wife Ann; grandchildren, Sarah and Summer and their mother Isobel Gotschall, Kristin and husband Tim Gutzke, Kreg and fiancˇe Caroline Worra, Charles Sharp, Kelly and husband Rusty Lannin, Kerry, Ruth, Nona, Emma, and Ioanna; and her great-grandchildren, Austen, Rachael and Victoria. Donald Joseph Thompson, 73, of Slidell, passed away Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at Northshore Regional Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Faye Thompson and by the previous marriage to the late Eileen O. Thompson. He was the brother of Walter Thompson; loving father to five children, three stepchildren and numerous grandchildren. He was a native of Bayside Queens, N.Y. Don graduated from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (Kings Point) in August 1957. He served honorably at sea, achieving the rank of Master and sailing during the Korean War. In the 1970's and 80's, he supported his alma mater by serving as a Kings Point Recruiter in the New Orleans area. He also owned and operated a maritime surveying business, Crescent Surveyor's in New Orleans area for over 30 years. Known affectionately by friends and colleagues as "D.J.," he enjoyed travel, golf, history, supporting numerous charities and serving the Lord. As one friend remembers, "D.J. always had a smile. As a golfer, he stunk, but as a man, he was excellent." Don's extraordinary life was celebrated and a funeral Mass was held yesterday at St. Luke's Catholic Church. He worked as a petroleum engineer on many projects including the Polaris missile systems in California. Ronald was a partner in the firm of Roberts & Boze in New Orleans and for 30 years was the owner and President of L'Eau Claire, International, a water treatment engineering firm. During his career, he developed numerous patents for improving the treatment of petroleum and industrial wastewater, and developed an innovative treatment processes. Ronald also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army in 1956. Following retirement, he served as a CASA volunteer and was awarded the CASA volunteer of the year in 2007. He also became an avid horseman. Ronald was a member of several trade and social organizations, including a lifetime member of the U.S. Equestrian Federation, Patriots Circle of the National WWII Museum, Knights of Columbus, and Plimsoll Club at the World Trade Center of New Orleans. He also extensively traveled the world over, including Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Mr. Boze was a respected mentor and confidant to many and a noble man of true character. He enjoyed all of life's blessings and gained wisdom from the trials and tribulations of life. He generously bestowed his life's lessons to anyone who sought his advice. He loved his country very much and relished in its rich history, especially the sacrifices made by members of the armed forces. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was born June 24, 1925, to the late Gustave and Edna Smith and had been a life resident of Mandeville. He is survived by six children: Gretchen, Craig, Phoebe, Melisa, Marian and Tim and seven grandchildren. His childhood was spent fishing, hunting and trapping on Lake Pontchartrain and the surrounding rivers and marshes. Helping his father build houses, tending to cattle and working at the family's icehouse in Mandeville also kept him busy. At age 14, he found time for schooling and helped the other students in the community by driving the school bus. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, during World War II he served his country in the Pacific Theatre aboard the USS Fremont. He was 56 years old. Son of the late Eugene Perrier, III and Myrtle Weathers, Father Thomas was born Dec. 4 1952, in New Orleans, LA. He made his profession as a Benedictine Monk of Saint Joseph Abbey on July 10, 1975. He was ordained to the priesthood January 5, 1980. He is survived by two sisters, Sister Rochelle Perrier, MSC and Sister Christine Perrier, MSC. Father Thomas served as Director of Camp Abbey, Professor in St. Joseph Seminary College, Novice Master, and Director of the Christian Life Center.
