Kent Joel Barrow passed away Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Teresa Barrow; mother, Geraldine 
Barrow; daughter, Kim Frazier; son-in-law, George Frazier; son, Kent Joel 
Barrow II; and sister, Terri Rhodes.

He was preceded in death by his son, Angelo Tunis Jr.; father, Wyvan Barrow; 
and brother, Dale Barrow.

BATEMAN

Howell (Harrell) "Ray" Bateman passed away Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at the age 
of 83. 

He was born Oct. 28, 1926, in Mount Hermon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy 
Seabees and proudly served his country during World War II. He worked for New 
Orleans Public Service for 42 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawson and Eula Bateman; brothers, Joe 
and Steve Bateman; and sister, Athalone Rustin.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Florence Hulin Bateman; his 
children, Ann Musacchia (wife of Roy), Ray Bateman (husband of Cecile), Glenn 
Bateman (husband of Linda) and Micky Bateman (husband of Geralyn). "Big Daddy" 
was also survived by his grandchildren, Mark (Kelly), Melisa (Travis), Stephen 
(Jamie), Tommy, Sarah (Tony), Danny (the late Amber), Michelle (Sid) and Brett. 
He will be fondly remembered by his 15 great-grandchildren. He is also survived 
by his sister, Shirley Alford; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends of the family, along with officers and members of the 
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8290, the Ladies Auxiliary and members of the 
Bayou Lacombe Senior Citizens Club, are invited to attend a memorial service at 
11 a.m. Friday at Honaker Funeral Home,1751 Gause Blvd. W. (in Forest Lawn 
Cemetery), Slidell. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time.

Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi, Miss., at 2:30 
p.m.Donations to The American Cancer Society at www.can cer.org are preferred 
in lieu of flowers.

BEARDEN

Joseph Edward Bearden Jr., 65, passed away Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at Slidell 
Memorial Hospital.

He was the beloved husband of Jo Carol Bearden for the past 44 years; father of 
Wendy Ray and husband Tommy of Walker and Joseph Edward Bearden III and wife 
Shannon of Mandeville; son of Nancy Bearden and the late Joseph Edward Bearden; 
brother of Ronald Bearden and wife Carol of Memphis, Tenn., and Mary Coltrain 
and husband Rick of Williamston, N.C. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren; 
Trevor Wade Ray, Joseph "Josh" Edward Bearden, IV, Nathan Jesse Ray and Ethan 
Christopher Bearden.

Bearden was a native of Maplesville, Ala., and a resident of Slidell for the 
past 38 years.

He graduated from the University of Alabama in 1966 and served his country in 
the U.S. Army during Vietnam. After retiring from Provident Insurance Co., 
Bearden started his own employee benefits consulting company; Bearden Brokerage 
& Consulting, Inc.

A memorial service will be held at noon Wednesday at the First Southern Baptist 
Church of Pearlington, 5437 Hwy. 604, Pearlington, Miss. Visitation will begin 
at 10 a.m.

HAMMONS

James Edward Hammons entered into eternal rest Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009.

He is survived by his parents, Beverly Hammons and Edward "Bubba" Pittman; son, 
Dayne Otis Hammons; and his special love, Stacie Harris. He is also survived by 
his sister, Samantha Jean Pittman; and grandparents, Davey Joe and Nellie Joy 
Hammons.

He was preceded in death by grandmother, Madiline Pittman; and aunt, Cindy 
Evette Hammons.

James loved going on the river with his family and friends. His gentle smile 
will be missed by many uncles, aunts and cousins.

A memorial service was held yesterday at Williams Funeral Home in Pearl River.

Dorothea Alexander Dunlap Montgomery of Folsom, Mandeville and New Orleans, 
La., died November 1, 2009 at age 82 in Norfolk, VA, after having been tenderly 
cared for by her daughter K.C. Dunlap Joachim for many months. 

Widowed twice and preceded in death by husbands Vernon Ray Dunlap and William 
E. Montgomery. 

Beloved mother of Pamela Alexander Blackwood and K.C. Dunlap Joachim; Preceded 
in death by her two sons, Michael Shannon (Elizabeth) Dunlap and Daniel Shawn 
Dunlap. Beloved sister of Rhea (Ernest) Daunis, Nedra Faulkner and the late 
Frieda Frye. Beloved grandmother of Sara and Zachary Joachim, Sheridan (Naoko) 
Sneddon and Carina Sidwell. Great-grandmother of Hana Sneddon and Lauryl, 
Brendan and Aubry Sidwell. She will be deeply missed by her dear friend of over 
30 years, Ethel Istre. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. 
Known for her beautiful smile, kindness and friendliness, Dot was a lover of 
Nature and a gifted floral designer, craftswoman and teacher for over 35 years.

Christian Burial will be held at St John's Catholic Church, 11345 Saint John 
Church Rd, Folsom, LA 70437 on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 12:00 noon.

Jeffery Lee Peterson, 36, of Covington, passed away Monday, Oct. 26, 2009.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Gail Peterson; daughter, Shermaine Richardson 
of Covington; four sons, Quincy Richardson, Jamie Richarson, Sherman Richardson 
and Trevor Duncan, all of Covington. He is also survived by six sisters, Betty 
James of Folsom, Gloria Peterson, Floria Peterson, Cynthia Peterson, Lynette 
Peterson and Likisha Hopkins, all of Covington; three brothers, Billy Peterson 
Lee Curtis Peterson and Jerome Peterson, all of Covington; parents, Deloris 
Peterson and Lee Curtis Davison, both of Covington; and six grandchildren.

The funeral service was yesterday with the Rev. James Winston officiating. 
Richardson Funeral Home of St. Tammany is in charge of arrangements.

U.S. Veteran John Dallas Turner passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2009.

Beloved father of Denise Turner Campagne Varnado and Greg Turner; and loving 
grandfather to Matt Campagne, Danielle Glenn, Jonathan Turner, Leslie Turner, 
Kristine Campagne and Jennifer Campagne.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlette Thomas Turner; his mother, 
Effie Morgan Turner; and his father, James Dallas Turner.

Age 80 years, he was a native of Epps, LA, a resident of Franklinton, LA and a 
former resident of Covington, LA. A United States Army veteran, he served 
during the Korean Conflict.

Clarence "Poppo" Batiste Jr. passed away Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009.

He was the beloved husband of Lydia Collins Batiste; son of Thelma C. Batiste 
and the late Clarence Batiste Sr. of Lacombe.

He was the father of Dwayne Crawford (Shannon), Clarence Batiste III, Wykenie 
Batiste and Blake Casnave; brother of Sandra Magee (Jesse), Burnadine Williams 
(Bruce), Helen Batiste and Gerald Batiste; grandfather of Dwayne Crawford Jr., 
Keenan Batiste, Shane Crawford and Kenleigh Howard. He is also survived by his 
mother-in-law Viola Collins and his sister-in-law Sylvia Caldwell.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Herman "Hipper" Batiste; and 
grandparents Leo Paul and Angelina Batiste, and Joseph and Lillian Casnave.

Poppo attended Mandeville High School and became a master carpenter by trade.

She was well known for her services of notary public and title transfer.

Annette Jane Wilson Guillot passed away on November 4, 2009. She was born March 
4, 1958 to Carolyn Duckworth Wilson and the late Sidney Myers Wilson. Annette 
lived and worked as an x-ray technician in both Metairie and on the West Bank 
for many years. She moved to Madisonville, LA just three years ago.

The beloved wife of Roy Anthony Guillot, she is survived by one son, Anthony 
Grady Guillot; her sister, Mary W. Sandifer and one brother, S. Marc Wilson.

Henry Thomas Haro Jr., 78, of Slidell, peacefully passed away Sunday, Nov. 1, 
2009, at his home with his family by his side.

He was survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Anna Mae "Grace" Arnone Haro.

He was a loving father to Henry T. Haro III (Sandra), Eric A. Haro, Julie H. 
Pichon (Michael) and Tammy H. Harrison (Bobby). He was the son of the late 
Henry T. and Vivian Wiltz Haro Sr.; brother of Betty Labasse, the late Arthur 
Haro and Joyce Burley. He is also survived by severn grandchildren, Nicholas, 
Blayne, Brennan, Brianna, Ashlyn, Shelbi and Madison.

He was a native of New Orleans and a long time resident of Slidell. He served 
in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In 1954, he founded Haro Glass & Mirror 
Works in New Orleans, which is still in operation.

He was a devoted family man and will be deeply missed by his family and 
friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services 
at 11 a.m. Thursday at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. W. (in Forest 
Lawn Cemetery), Slidell. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until funeral time.

He was a native of New Orleans, a long time resident of Lacombe, and a resident 
of Griffin for the past 10 years.

Pamela Spell Ory passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009. 

She was born Oct. 9, 1955, to the late Mathew "Butz" and Gloria "Billie" Lemons 
Spell. A lifelong resident of Mandeville, she worked as bookkeeper and office 
manager for 20 years at Mandeville Middle and most recently for Lake Harbor 
Middle School.

The beloved wife of Lawrence T. Ory Jr., she is survived by two sons, Lawrence 
"Trey" Ory III, his wife Trece Brown Ory. and Mathew Michael Ory, his finacˇ 
Sloane R. Goux; and one granddaughter, Chloe Lynn Ory. She is also survived by 
her sister, Dondra Spell Sharp; and brother, Kirk M. Spell.

Till was a lifelong resident of Barker's Corner, Lee Road area of Bush, LA.

Swindler of Jacksonville, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Frank Bauer 
and Philipine Schmidt Bauer; sister of Rose Mae Paretti of New Orleans, the 
late Edward Bauer, Genevieve Hoffman, Elvira Green and Mercades Banner; 
grandmother of the late Richard A. Liuzza Jr., Edward J. Swindler III, Allison 
A. Swindler, Samantha Lea Swindler and Gary C. Swindler Jr. and great-
grandmother of Nina Lee Welch, Edward J. Swindler IV and Ava Lynn Swindler.

The funeral Mass was held Tuesday. Interment was in St. Patrick Cemetery No. 1.

William Edward Boesch, Jr. passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the age 
of 65.

Beloved husband of Patricia Baribeau Boesch. Loving father of Kim, Darrin, 
Donna and Kelly. Son of the late Frances Michelet Boesch and William Edward 
Boesch, Sr. Brother of Anna Mae Boesch Dunne, Marilyn Boesch Boye and the late 
Edith Boesch McCarthy. Grandfather of Hayley, April, Aaron, Katey, Abby, 
Christian, Brady and Jaden. Great-grandfather of Marleigh. Also survived by a 
host of other relatives and friends.

Thomas was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Picayune, MS.

his sons, William T. Wedig, Darryl J. Wedig, Jeffery S. Wedig, and his 
daughter-in-law, Jennie Wedig. 

Thomas is survived by his beloved wife Mary Lou Anderson Wedig, his sons, 
Thomas A. Wedig, III. Brian D. Wedig and his wife Linda, Mark A. Wedig and his 
wife Penny, his grandchildren Sarina Lar—na and husband Matthew, Stacy L. 
Wedig, Candi Liccardi, Mark A. Wedig, Jr., Shawn M. Wedig, Joshua Haar and 
Megan Haar, and his great granddaughter Abigale Draughdril. Also survived by 
many nieces and nephews. 

Thomas was a graduate of Jesuit Catholic High School, he attended Loyola 
University and he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

MCLAY

Ruth Eaton McLay, 85, passed away at home Monday, Nov. 2, 2009.

She was the beloved wife of John McLay to whom she dedicated herself during 
their 64 years of marriage. She was the mother of Grace Marietta Lannert 
(Dietrich) and Bruce Bussell McLay (Joyce); grandmother of Lesley Lynn 
Gastwirth (Jason) and Scott Rusch McLay (Sarah); and her recently born first 
great-grandchild, Ashlyn Janette McLay.

Throughout her life Ruth always cherished the memories of her youth and was 
diligent in preserving the family's history. She was dedicated to communicating 
with family, lifelong friends and many people she met during extensive time in 
world travels. Ruth had a fond love of nature and family. She put others first 
until the end.

She was born in Ithaca, N.Y., and lived most of her married life in 
Albuquerque, N.M., and Holmdel, N.J. Ruth was a 1945 graduate of Cornell 
University where she studied theatre and dance. She participated in community 
theatre throughout her life and did extensive volunteer work at the Monmouth 
Museum and various nature societies in New Jersey. She relocated to Slidell, in 
May 2008.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation from 10-
11 a.m. Monday at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. W. (in Forest Lawn 
Cemetery), Slidell. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. In lieu of

home in Slidell. She was the beloved wife of James D. Ryan for the past 28

passed away Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at the age of 95. He was a native and

He was a retired federal civil service employee, a former real estate broker 
for Latter & Blum, and a former member of the American Federation of Musicians, 
New Orleans Local 174-496.

He was the beloved husband of the late Frances Flake Manale and is survived by 
his two daughters, Rosalyn Manale Stein and Jean Manale Knight; four 
grandchildren, Terri Malone Bordelon, Michael Malone, Christopher Malone, and 
Danielle Knight; and three great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his 
parents, William Manale and Anna Billar Manale; two sisters, Anna Manale and 
Eleanor Manale Kuntz; daughter, Debra Jo Manale; and a grandson, Salvadore 
Malone, Jr.

A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Aloysius Church, 2025

she was a member of the New Orleans Geological Auxiliary. She will be 
remembered for her zest for fashion and travel. She belonged to several 
volunteer organizations in Baton Rouge, LA. Mary loved to take daily power 
walks, prepare the altar for Mass and sing to fellow residents at Wynwood of 
Mandeville.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held in Baton Rouge, LA at a

Joseph Troxler Caire (J.T.) (Joe), age 78, a resident of Covington for 16 
years, formerly of Metairie, and a native of New Orleans, died Tuesday, 
November 10, 2009. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of 
Electrical Workers Local 130 for 55 years and a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He is survived by daughter Sheree Caire Westerhaus, son-in-law Mark Westerhaus, 
granddaughter Kaitlyn Adele Westerhaus, grandsons Grant Joseph Westerhaus and 
Lane Jordan Westerhaus, all of Baton Rouge, a brother, Edward Joseph Caire of 
Metairie, niece Carol Gipson Geiger of Michigan, nephews and cousins.

His life was made happier by friend Judy Shannon and her family who he thought 
of as his own.

U.S. Veteran William Sidney Simmons, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 
2009 at the age of 61.

Beloved husband of Amy Lynn Bennett Simmons. Loving father of Jennifer Ann 
Simmons. Son of the late Daisy Stewart Jewell and William Sidney Simmons, Sr. 
Brother of Ray Merle Simmons, Robert Van Smith and Buddy Clark. Brother-in-law 
of Amos Kent Bennett III and Leslie Ann Bennett Mills. Also survived by nieces, 
nephews and cousins.

Mr. Simmons taught at Covington High School for 33 years. He received his BS in 
Education from University of Southern Mississippi and his Masters of 
Administration from the University of Southeastern Louisiana. He was a U.S. 
Navy veteran during Viet Nam and a member of The American Legion. He was also 
an employee of Tugy's for 20 years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation at E.J.

Ernest Perry Rowe Jr., 82, of Slidell, passed away Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009.

He was the beloved husband of the late Norma Lou Rowe; father of Barbara R. 
Williams (Raymond), Patricia R. Ganer (Bruce), Kathryn R. Overkamp, Marjorie R. 
Ader (Robert), Carol A. Rachal, Rebecca R. Darby (Jerry), and Richard P. Rowe 
(Melissa). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was a native of Owensboro, Ky., and a longtime resident of Slidell. He was a 
member of the Sons of the American Revolution, First United Methodist Church of 
Slidell and active in many Slidell civic organizations.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Roberta Spitzley and Shannon 
Kyle for the loving card they provided him over the last year.

Funeral Services were held Tuesday. Interment was in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Tommy Clifton Smith, 68, of Slidell, passed away Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at Tulane 
Medical Center in New Orleans.

Tommy was born in Lincoln County, Miss., and lived in Slidell for the past six 
years moving from Brookhaven, Miss. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in 
Vietnam and a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by three sons, Brian Minto of LaCombe, Keith Chavers of Slidell 
and Jonathan Chavers of Picayune, Miss.; two brothers, Donald Smith of Natchez, 
Miss., and Harold Smith of Ellisville, Miss.; one sister, Flora M. Walker of 
Picayune; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Annie Lou Smith; his wife, 
Dot Smith; six brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel 
with the Rev. Donnie Boutwell officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial 
Gardens Cemetery.

Eugenie "Jean" Stielow, of Slidell, born Sept. 12, 1919, passed away Saturday, 
Nov. 7, 2009.

She was the widow of Frederick B. Stielow of Michigan City, Ind. She was one of 
10 children born on Grand Isle to Innocent and Innocess Terrebonne. She is 
survived by her children Denise Callahan and Dr. Fred Stielow; grandchildren 
Thane Stielow, Tara McManus, Tigger Dubuisson and Trenton Knight; great-
grandchildren Tate McManus, Kayla Viavant, and Nicole Poche.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. tomorrow at St. Margaret Mary 
Catholic Church in Slidell. Friends may visit at the church on Friday beginning 
at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Slidell.

Donations to St Jude's Childrens' Hospital are preferred in lieu of flowers.

Sorrells and Sarah Force and stepfather Jim Force of the Bahamas.

Larry Anthony Seals, "Grotty", age 66 of Mandeville, Louisiana met his Lord and 
Saviour, Jesus Christ on Friday, November 13, 2009.

He is survived by his high school sweet heart and wife of 46 yrs Karen G. 
Seals; daughter and son- in-law Kelly and Eric Dubroc of Mandeville, La; son 
and daughter-in-law Robert and Natalya Seals of Cincinnati, Oh; daughter and 
son-in-law Stacey and Shayne Stinson of Houston, Tx; brother and sister-in-law 
Sid and Katie Seals of Oneida, Tn; grandchildren Mia and Joel Dubroc; Aleena 
and Marshall Seals and a wonderful extend family and much loved friends.

Larry was a graduate of the University of Tennessee where he ran track for his 
beloved Vols. After his retirement from Scott Chotin, Inc, were he held the 
position of President/Owner, he attended the New Orleans Baptist Theological 
Seminary.

Larry was a member of the First Baptist Church of Covington, La. He was blessed 
with the opportunity to retire early which allowed him to give back to many 
organizations including AARP tax aide volunteer, member of Beau Chene HOA, 
volunteer to minister at Forest Manor nursing home and a member of the World 
Seniors Golf Federation

During his retirement he was able to travel, hike and fly fish with his wife, 
participate in many golf tournaments with his buddies, attend UT football games 
with his brother, hunt with friends and watch his grandchildren participate in 
sporting events.

Larry was a godly man that led by example in his personal and professional 
life. He was a man that accomplished great things but he also knew that his 
great God was behind it all. He loved right and hated wrong, he loved truth and 
hated error. Larry touched the lives and hearts of many and will be greatly 
missed by the ones he loved.

We are thankful for the tender care of the Doctors, the ICU/CCU nurses and 
therapists at St. Tammany Parish Hospital.

A memorial will be held Tuesday, November 17th at First Baptist church of 
Covington and will receive friends from 12 to 2pm and service to begin at 2pm.

Flowers should be sent to First Baptist Church of Covington. Donations should 
be made to the Mary Bird Perkins in memory of Larry A Seals. A foundation is 
currently being established.

CRIDER

Claude Duval Crider Jr., 87, longtime resident of Slidell and Diamondhead, 
Miss., died Monday Nov. 2, 2009, in Munster, Ind. Claude was born in New 
Orleans on Aug. 27, 1922, to the late Claude Duval Crider Sr., and Annie Morse 
Crider. He was married to Betty Jo McMahon on Sept. 2, 1949 in Beaumont, Texas. 
He graduated from the University of Texas, receiving a bachelor of science 
degree in applied mathematics.

Claude actively served in the military as a U.S. Army staff sergeant during 
both engineer in the air and space industries. He was an active member of the 
Methodist Church for over 53 years.

Claude is survived by his wife, Betty McMahon Crider; daughter Claudia Crider 
Huson; son Matthew McMahon Crider; son-in-law James Huson; daughter-in-law 
Cynthia Crider; two nephews, three nieces and two nephews, and two nieces by 
marriage. Claude was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Crider Elmore and 
Perry Ann Crider McDuff, and one nephew.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday Nov. 21, 2009 at the 
Diamondhead Methodist Church in Diamondhead, Miss. Visitation will begin at 2 
p.m. until service time. 

Memorial donations may be made in Claude's memory to the Diamondhead United 
Methodist Church or to the charity of one's choice.

Ellen Agnes Ruetz Even passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus 
Christ, on Saturday, November 14, 2009, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in 
Covington, LA at the age of 85. 

Ellen was a native of Racine, Wisconsin. 

After graduating from Mount St. Mary's College she moved to New Orleans, LA to 
pursue a career as a Lab Technician at Charity Hospital. While there, she met 
Charles Even and they were married soon after. 

In 1951, they relocated to Folsom, LA where they farmed until retiring and 
eventually moving to Mandeville, LA in 2005. 

Beloved wife of the late Charles Even, Jr. Mother of Joan Goff, James 
Even, Michael Even, Matthew Even, Mary Legere and Rebecca Leek. Daughter of the 
late Ione Kurten and Clarence Ruetz. Sister of Russell Ruetz, Gerald Ruetz, and 
the late James Ruetz, Philip Ruetz, and Roland Ruetz. Also survived by 22 
Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren.

Lee Dowden, Clyde Manasco, Dorothy Allen and Audrey Westbrook. He was preceded 
in death by his wife, Marjorie Dell Rhodes Manasco; a daughter, Carolyn Manasco 
Meadows; mother, Ruby Bickman Manasco; and father, Charles Elbert Manasco.

Age 88 years, he was a native of Sabine Parish, LA and a resident of Covington, 
LA for the past 16 years. Dr. Manasco served his country in the United States 
Navy during World War II as a Lieutenant in the Pacific. An educator most of 
his career, Dr. Manasco was a member of the original team sent from LSU to 
start LSU at Eunice back in 1966. Dr. Manasco and his wife Marjorie embraced 
the community where they gained many friends. "Doc" enjoyed serving in many 
civic activities such as past president of both the Eunice Lion's Club and 
Eunice Kiwanis' Club. Prior to his retirement from LSUE, Dr. Manasco served as 
Director of Financial Aid. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

U.S. Veteran A.L. "Red" McMurray, Jr. passed away on Saturday, November 14, 
2009.

Beloved father of Amy M. Huerta and her husband Alfredo; loving grandfather to 
Adela Huerta; brother of Mildred M. Sherburne and her husband Richard and Ann 
M. Murphy and her husband John; special friends, Nina Barnett, Frank Hanna and 
Thekla Hanna; and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in 
death by his mother, Lottie Mae Trudell McMurray; and his father, Aldridge L. 
McMurray, Sr.

Age 75 years, he was a native of Baton Rouge, LA and a resident of Folsom, LA 
for the past 29 years. An honorably discharged United States Army veteran, he 
served during World War II. He was an accomplished Thoroughbred owner and 
breeder.

Sandra R. Pratt passed away on November 14, 2009. She was born in Shawnee, OK 
on April 8, 1935 to Reva Bass Reding and the late Jay P. Reding and was a 
resident of New Orleans until retiring to Covington in 1995.

She was beloved wife of George Lockwood Pratt, Sr. for 55 years. She is 
survived by her mother; three sons: George L., Jr., John Jay (Jack), Sr. and 
David Paul Pratt and four grandchildren: Amy E., Katherine E., John Jay, Jr. 
and Courtney A. Pratt. She is also survived by two daughters-in-law, Jean 
Church Pratt and Mary LaRocca Pratt; and John David Noel, a close family 
relative.

Sandra spent most of her career working at Village Lady in Lakeside and Macy's 
New Orleans. She graduated from Fairview High School in Fairview Oklahoma and 
met her husband while attending nursing school in Enid Oklahoma while he was 
stationed at Vance Air Force Base. Gardening, her family and her dogs, Matilda 
and Sparky, were her Joys in Life.

Joe was a lifelong resident of Covington, LA. 

Beloved husband of 54 years to Maureen Woodings Fontan. Father of Elaine Lemons 
(Paul), Glen Fontan, Scott Fontan and the late Bruce Fontan. Son of the late 
Marguerite Becker Fontan and Joseph B. Fontan, Sr. Brother of Donald G. Fontan 
and Betty Gayle Huval. He is also survived and lovingly remembered by 
grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Joe served in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years prior to returning to Covington 
to join the family business, Fontan Becker Building Specialties. Joe was a 
volunteer at St. Tammany Parish Hospital.

Hospital, at the age of 36. 

Cheyne was a die-hard Saints fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and auto

He was a talented craftsman and worked in the construction industry. 

Devoted husband of 11 years to Dawn Roberts. Cherished father of Taylar Roberts 
(9) and Haylee Roberts (3). Son of the late Danny Roberts and Dona Kelly. 
Brother of Danny Roberts, Jammie Roberts Migliore, and Shanna Roberts. Grandson

Zlokas. Also survived by numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. 

Cheyne and Dawn had a strong love that endured through many hard times, 
but they always prevailed together. He was adored by many and will be greatly

Betty Ann Ireland Madore, 75, of Slidell, passed away Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at 
her home in Slidell. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald F. Madore; 
mother of Rhonda M. Scott and daughter of the late Orin Ireland and Mable 
Turner Ireland. She is also survived by her grandson, Chris D. Merz and wife 
Paula of Slidell and two great-grandchildren, Christopher R. Merz and Julia E. 
Merz.

She was a native of Dixmont, Maine, and a resident of Slidell since 1965. Betty 
was a longtime former hairstylist and cosmetologist in the Slidell area.

A graveside service and interment were held Friday at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 
Slidell.

BRANDT

Walthon W. "Walt" Brandt, 88, passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Guest 
House of Slidell.

He was the beloved husband of Beverly Vernon Brandt for the past 65 years; 
father of Kathleen Brandt Chagnard (Raymond) of Pensacola, Fla., Robert C. 
"Bob" Brandt (Barbara) of Slidell, Kenneth W. "Kenny" Brandt (Kim) of River 
Ridge, Leslie A. Brandt Minton (Randall) of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Marilyn A. 
Brandt Ryan (Kerry) of Milford, Ohio. He was the son of the late William I. 
Brandt and Alma Whalen Brandt. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 14 
great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Slidell for the past 11 years. 
Walt served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a retired 
sheet metal mechanic with the Sheetmetal Worker's Local Union 11. He was an 
avid lifetime baseball player and coach and was an umpire with NORD Umpire's 
Association. He also worked for 21 years as a pari-mutuel clerk at the New 
Orleans Fairgrounds. Walt was a devout Catholic and a former member and Past 
Grand Knight of the I.H.M. Council 4547. He was a wonderful husband and father 
who will be sorely missed by all his family and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial Mass at 2 
p.m. today at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1050 Robert Blvd., Slidell. 
Visitation will be at church from noon to 2 p.m. Interment will be held at a 
later date in St. Louis Cemetery No. 3 in New Orleans.

Donations should be sent to Habitat for Humanity in honor of Walt, in lieu of 
flowers.

BROWNE

Kenneth Harrison Browne Sr., 84, of Slidell, passed away in his sleep Monday, 
Nov. 16, 2009.

He was the beloved husband of the late Audrey Manix Browne; father of Robin L. 
Browne, and Kenneth H. Browne Jr. He is also survived by four grandchildren, 
Drew L. Browne, Forrest H. Browne, Devin Browne Hammon and Nathan K. Browne.

A native of New Orleans, and a resident of Slidell since 1964, he was a retired 
insurance underwriter with Northwestern Mutual. Browne was a U.S. Marine Corps 
veteran of World War II, having fought at the battle of Iwo Jima and in the 
Korean War.

He was a member of the Toastmasters and Young Men's Business Club, and a member 
of the Sports Car Club of New Orleans and the Antique Car Club of Slidell.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral.

Funeral Services at 11 a.m. Friday at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. W. 
(in Forest Lawn Cemetery), Slidell. Friends may visit at the funeral home on

Jeanette "Pie" Treadway Cheron, 75, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009. 

She was the beloved wife of the late Henry E. Cheron; mother of Henry A. Cheron, 
Rickie Cheron, Ernest Cheron and Susan "Sissy" Givens(Jerry); sister of Morris 
Treadway, Jeannie Armstrong, Fannie Pigniolo, the late Emile "Snooks" Treadway 
and Bobby Treadway. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Jennifer 
Cheron, Hannah VanCalsem and Dustin Givens. She was a native of Plaquemines 
Parish and a resident of Slidell for the past 18 years.

Funeral services were held Monday at Honaker Funeral. Interment was in Forest 
Lawn Cemetery.

GERACI

Nicholas Joseph "Nick" Geraci, 92, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at his 
home in Slidell.

He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy Stack Geraci for 45 years; 
father of Lydia G. Kazmierczak and husband Dennis of Port Richey, Fla., Susan 
G. Swiber of Slidell, Robert M. Geraci Sr. and wife Carol of Mandeville and the 
late Alan R. Geraci and brother of Philip Geraci of Metairie. He is also 
survived by six grandchildren, Ashley, Justin, Bryce, Cole, Lucas and Dominick 
and several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Slidell for the past six 
years. Nick served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in Bermuda 
and France. He retired as an employee of the Veterans Administration after many 
years of dedicated service.

A memorial service was held in Nick's honor at Honaker Funeral Home, Slidell. 

Donations to The American Heart Association are preferred in lieu of flowers.

MISTRETTA

Joycelyn Mercier Mistretta, 77, passed away peacefully at her residence with 
her family by her side Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009. She was a former residence of 
New Orleans and formerly a member of the Resurrection Catholic Church in New 
Orleans for 43 years before having to relocate for Hurricane Katrina. Mistretta 
attended St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Slidell for the past two years.

She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Roy Mistretta Sr.; three 
children, Roy Mistretta Jr., Deborah Haney and Gina Mistretta; 10 
grandchildren, Shane, Alicia, Brandy, Carlee, Brett, Christina, Randle, Allan, 
Roy III and Lauren; and 11 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Blake, Rhonda, Devin, 
Jordan, Ashly, Alyssa, Anthony, Aubrey, Ashton and Maddie. She is also survived 
by her brother 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Mercier and Gloria Koenig, 
daughter Rhonda LaBiche and grandson Andrew Perreand.

Services were held Monday at the D.T. Williams Funeral Home, Pearl River.

Barbara Sue Oulliber, 33, passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at her residence 
in Pearl River. She was a member of Pine Grove United Pentecostal Church in 
Pearl River.

She is survived by her parents, Robert and Sandra Martin; three brothers, 
Joseph, Kerwin and Terrance Martin; sister, Jacqlyn Martin; and grandmother, 
Onedra Martin. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Oulliber.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Pine Grove UPC, 67109 
Chris Kennedy Road.

PRATT

Sandra R. Pratt passed away Saturday, Nov, 14, 2009. She was born in Shawnee, 
Okla., April 8, 1935, to Reva Bass Reding and the late Jay P. Reding and was a 
resident of New Orleans until retiring to Covington in 1995.

She was the beloved wife of George Lockwood Pratt Sr. for 55 years. She is 
survived by her mother, three sons: George L. Jr., John Jay (Jack), Sr. and 
David Paul Pratt; four grandchildren Amy E., Katherine E., John Jay, Jr. and 
Courtney A. Pratt and sister, Beverly R. Alsip of Mustang, Okla. She is also 
survived by two daughters-in-law, Jean Church Pratt and Mary LaRocca Pratt and a 
close family relative John David Noel.

Sandra spent most of her career working at Village Lady in Lakeside and Macy's 
in New Orleans. She graduated from Fairview High School in Fairview Okla., and 
met her husband while attending nursing school in Enid, Okla., while he was 
stationed at Vance Air Force Base. Gardening, her family and her dogs, Matilda 
and Sparky, were her joys in life.

The funeral Mass was held Tuesday at the church in St. Joseph Abbey. Interment 
was in the St. Benedict Cemetery.

Roy; brother of Donna Roy Terry (Mike), Judith Elaine Roy Bourgeois (Gerry),

Barbara Ferguson and her son LeGrande Ferguson.

Phillip was born April 15, 1961, and graduated from Holy Redeemer High School 
in Lacombe. He was a resident of Slidell for most of his life. He was a former 
employee of Roy Bingo, Inc.

ALDRIDGE

Burch H. Aldridge, 93, died Nov. 13, 2009, after a short illness.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gertrude Aldridge; daughters, Theresa 
Aldridge Landreth (Mark) and Lisa Aldridge; son, Philip Aldridge (Stephanie); 
and grandchildren, Katie and Kirby; brother James Aldridge and sister Hilda 
Barnett.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Wilfred Aldridge, Milton Aldridge and 
Harold Aldridge; baby, Richard Seale Aldridge; and sister, Ola Johnson.

Mr. Aldridge was born Sept. 16, 1916, in Danville, Ala., to Walter W. Aldridge 
Jr. and Mabel O. Aldridge. He graduated from Danville High School in 1935, 
entered the work force and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1941. After his 
military service, he graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 
1950. He worked for the federal government for 35 years, retiring from NASA in 
1985. During his time at NASA he was awarded a Snoopy, the astronauts' award 
for performance.

He lived in Slidell since 1963 and devoted time to his church, gardening and 
his family. He received the Order of St. Louis from the Archdiocese of New 
Orleans in recognition of his service to the church. He was active in 
retirement and never gave up his lifelong love of learning.

Mr. Aldridge was a loving, kind and generous man and will be greatly missed.

CURTIS

Edmond Dale Curtis, 77, of Slidell, a security guard for Vincent Guard, died 
Nov. 2, 2009, at his home.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean War. He was a 
member of the American Legion, the VFW Post 185 at St. Ann Place and the First 
Baptist Church of Slidell.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Pinkard Curtis of Slidell; son, Eddie Dale 
Curtis and wife Bobbie of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; daughters, Pamela Gaye Curtis of 
Murfreesboro and Patricia Joyce Curtis of Slidell; sister, Hope Jenkins Collett 
of Jackson, Miss.; grandchildren, Jeremy Dale Curtis, James Preston Curtis and 
Daniel Brian Curtis; and great-grandchildren, Preston Davis Curtis, Neely Joy 
Curtis and Weston Dale Curtis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Eli and Velma White Curtis, and 
brother, Percy White Curtis.

Funeral services were held Nov. 6 at Jordan Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph 
Hunt officiating. Interment was in the Smyrna Cemetery. 

Memorials may be made to the Smyrna Cemetery Fund.

Alberta L. Webb passed peacefully away in her home Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at 
the age of 104. Alberta was born and lived her entire life in New Orleans and 
Covington.

She was the BELOVED wife of Green Webb Jr. and the daughter of the late
Virginia and Charlie Lavazant. She is survived by her son, Robert Harper Jr.; 
daughter, Beverly Harper; daughter-in-law, Alicia Harper; grandson, Derrick 
(Dawn) Williams; two great-grandchildren, Dawnece Williams and Damirus 
Williams; sister-in-law Rachel Perkins; brother-in-law LeRoy Smith and hosts of 
godchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Webb retired as a seamstress at Dress Circle. She was a long time member 
of the Doughty Chapel A.M.E. Church where she served on the Stewardship Board.

On the evening of Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, while surrounded by her family at 
Northshore Regional Medical Center, Adele Pustka Henkhaus, 63, was called to 
her heavenly home after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born 
Feb. 
20, 1946, in Shiner, Texas.

She was a member of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Medical Group 
Management Association and Catholic Family Fraternal Of Texas (KJZT).

She is survived by her beloved husband, Gene Henkhaus, for the past 41 years; 
sons, Christopher James Henkhaus of Slidell and Gregory John Henkhaus and wife 
April of Katy, Texas; daughter-in-law Marsha Henkhaus; grandchildren, Landon 
James Henkhaus and Emily Adele Henkhaus; stepgrandson, John Elijah Highberg; 
siblings, Louis Pustka, Jerome Pustka, Irene Kutach, Dennis Pustka, Gene 
Pustka, Mark Pustka, Bernice Kifer, Paul Pustka and Evelyn Siegel.

She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Craig Henkhaus on July 11, 2006; 
her parents, Alois Pustka April 24, 1963, and Adela Furch Pustka March 27, 
2009; and her brother, Johnny Pustka Nov. 5, 1988.

U.S. Veteran Lynwood James LeSaicherre, a native and resident of Ponchatoula,LA 
died Nov. 22, 2009 at his residence. 

He was 68 years old and a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by his fiancee, 
Waltraud Baham and her family; one son, Thomas Baham and daughter-in-law, 
Valerie Baham; two daughters, Eva Braase and son-in-law Mike Braase and 
Gabriela Schaeffer and son-in-law Brian Scheaffer; one grandson, Nicholas 
Harper; and three granddaughters, Taylor Scheaffer, Jessica and Jenna Baham. He 
is also survived by three sisters, Joan Davis and Judy LeSaicherre of Hammond; 
Carol Paul and brother-in-law Bucky Paul of Baton Rouge; niece Darlene Caneva 
and husband Tom Caneva of Champaign, Ill.; 2 nephews, Jimmy Paul of McKinney 
Texas, and Michael Davis and wife Stephanie Davis of Hammond;great-nieces Emma 
and Abby Davis, Jennifer and Rachel Paul and great-nephew Chris Paul.

He was preceded in death by his parents James and Louise Hils LeSaicherre. He

Evelyn Meyer passed away Friday, Nov. 20, 2009.

She is survived by daughter Linda Murphy and son Lynn Meyer. She is also

Matthew and Christopher Meyer and eight great-grandchildren, Jordan Vicknair,

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Jerome Meyers; brothers

U.S. Veteran James Edmund Burke, Jr. passed away on November 23, 2009. A 
resident of Covington since 1972, he was born in Birmingham, AL on March 20, 
1921 to the late James E., Sr. and Hattie Isabel Burke.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 38 years, Georgyee Johnson Burke; two 
daughters, Elizabeth B. Chifani and Anne B. Watson; one son, James E. Burke, 
III; two step-sons, Harold K. and J. Stuart Watson; eight grandchildren and 
three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wife, Pearl Burke and 
his sister, Catherine B. Mudge.

Jim was a veteran of WW II having served the Marine Corps in the pacific 
theatre and was a dedicated parishioner at Christ Episcopal Church in 
Covington.

George retired from Chrysler Financial after 37 years of loyal employment. He

Lancelot Francis "Lance" Cazaux, Sr., passed away Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at 
the age of 92. 

He was the son of the late Paul Cazaux and Alma Laine. He was preceded in death 
by his beloved wife, Emelda Alexander Cazaux and sister, Elaine Tramontana. He 
will be sadly missed by four sons and daughters-in-law, Lancelot (Lanny) and 
Sandra Cazaux, Larry and Sherry Cazaux, Lloyd and Phillis Cazaux and Lester and 
Judy Cazaux. His 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-
grandchild will sadly miss Gramps. He is also survived by two sisters, Marie-
Jeanne Trauth and Laura Ann Pease. 

Lance served honorably in the U. S. Navy during World War II and was a member of 
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 130 for over 50 years.

DUBUISSON

Alfred W. Dubuisson passed away after a long illness at age 94 in Carmichael, 
Calif. on Nov. 14, 2009. 

He was born on Jan. 7, 1915, in Pass Christian, Miss., and at five years of age 
moved to Covington, where he resided until 1991, when he moved to Carmichael.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Alix, of almost 50 years, by his 
sisters Lela Fitzgerald and Carrie Fitzgerald, and his brother Vernon Dubuisson. 
He is survived by his son, Lloyd Dubuisson of Baton Rouge, his daughter Mary 
Alice Marino of Carmichael, four grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.

After graduating from Covington High School in 1931, and Southeastern in 1933. 
Mr. Dubuisson began his long teaching career at age 18 in a two-room school in 
Savannah Branch, north of Folsom. In 1939, he received a Bachelor of Arts from 
Southeastern, and in 1956, a master's in education from L.S.U. During his forty 
years with St. Tammany Parish Public Schools, he taught or was principal at 
eight schools. In 1963, he was selected as the most outstanding 4-H leader in 
the state of Louisiana. In 1973, he retired as principal of Covington 
Elementary, which was approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and 
Schools during his leadership.

Mr. Dubuisson loved flowers and plants and was an avid gardener. After 
retirement, he and Mrs. Dubuisson spent most of their free time landscaping and 
beautifying the yard of their home on 8th Avenue in Covington, which frequently 
won the Garden of the Month Award.

During retirement, Mr. Dubuisson served on the St. Peter's School Board and was 
active in the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association, a National Day Lily 
Organization, and numerous civic endeavors. In addition, he administered the GED 
tests for the St. Tammany Parish School Board until 1990. He remained committed 
to the importance of education throughout his life.

Mr. Dubuisson was a generous and compassionate person who was devoted to his 
family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The angels brought our mother, Janet M. Tedesco to Heaven Saturday Nov. 21, 
2009, to be reunited with her loving husband, John A. Tedesco, Sr., whom she 
missed every day of her life for the last seven years. 

Born to Beverly S. MacKay and Margaret Terese Mackay in New Orleans, she lived 
the last 18 years in Kenner. She was the beloved mother of Rosalie T. Hebert 
(Ken), Christine T. Schellang (Larry), Gina T. Mmahat (Kevin), and Michael A. 
Tedesco (Rhonda); beloved stepmother of Judy T. Fogarty (Mike-former), and John 
A. Tedesco, Jr. (Beverly). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, three 
great-grandchildren (one on-the-way), who loved their "maw-maw" and she adored 
them. Her happiest times were our large family gatherings especially at 
Christmas. 

She is also survived by loving siblings Beverly M. Guillot, Bruce W. MacKay and 
Walter M. MacKay. She will be missed by her family and friends and always 
remembered as loving and generous.

The funeral Mass was held yesterday at Greenwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5200 Canal 
Blvd., New Orleans. Interment was in in Greenwood Cemetery.

Carol LeGros Murphy passed away on November 27, 2009. She was born January 12, 
1943 to the late Percy Lee and Gloria Ann Dunn LeGros, was a long time resident 
of Lake Charles, LA before moving to St. Tammany parish in 1992.

She is the beloved mother of three children: Roger LeGros (Gail) of Los 
Angeles, Michelle L. Gueldner (David) of Ponchatoula, LA and Dreux LeGros 
(Vickie) of Dallas, TX; two grandchildren, Zachary Schuler and Emma LeGros and 
three sisters: Gloria Cannon, Linda Anderson and Janice LeGros. She was 
preceded in death by two brothers, Don and Steve LeGros.

A private gathering of family and close friends will be held at a later date.

U.S. Veteran Nathan Hale Pulling, Jr. passed away on November 27, 2009. A 
native and life resident of Covington, he was born May 21, 1957.

The beloved son of Nathan Hale, Sr. and Helen Benefield Pulling, he is survived 
by two sisters, Janice P. Adams and Becky P. Gaconnet and two brothers, Jon 
"Buster" and David L. Pulling. He is also survived by one son, A.J. Fritscher.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services from 
the chapel of E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 
70433 at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, December 1, 2009.

Shirley Warren Harris Quinn, 77, passed away Nov. 21, 2009, at the Good 
Samaritan Nursing Home. 

A resident of Slidell, she is survived by her husband Willie Quinn of Slidell; 
son James Earl of Ponchatoula; two sisters, Earline Lundie of Bogalusa and 
Nancy Vera Carter of McComb, Miss.; seven brothers, Bufus Warren of 
Franklinton, Rufus and Kermon Warren, both of Bogalusa, Harry, Larry and Hermon 
Warren, all of Lacombe. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 12 
great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Minnie Warren Brown.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the El-Bethel Apostolic 
Ministry, 2515 Carey St., Slidell, with the Rev. Eugene R. Wellington Sr. 
officiating. 

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. today at Crain & Sons Funeral Home, 2000 
Washington St., Franklinton. Family hour will be from 6-7 p.m. 

Interment will be in the St. James Cemetery.

Imaleta "Ms. Weedy" Spencer, 81, of Lacombe, passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, 
at the Lacombe Nursing Home in Lacombe. 

She was the beloved mother of Marsha Smith of Lacombe, and James Paul Spencer, 
Jr. of Oklahoma City, Okla., and the late Karen Moran. She was the daughter of 
the late Jack and Alaska McCarty and sister of Letrice Keirsey, Evalue Shepard, 
Patricia Keyser and the late Billy Jack McCarty.

She is also survived by six grandchildren, Scott Marion Glover, James Monroe 
Perrette III, Nason Perrette, Candice Perrette and the late Brent Paul Glover 
and Jamie Spencer; 2 great-grandchildren Amber and Scotty Glover, Jr. and 2 
great-great-grandchildren, Zoe and Riley Lott.

She is also survived by other great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. She 
was a native of Purnell, Okla., and a resident of Slidell since 1978, and a 
resident of Lacombe since 1995.

 "Ms. Weedy" was the former owner and operator of the Bitter End Lounge in 
Slidell, and most recently a cashier at Wa-Mart in Waveland, Miss.

All services are being held privately. Arrangements by Honaker Funeral Home, 
Inc., Slidell.

The Lord called his beloved son, Louis Patrick Torregano home to his eternal 
rest Monday Nov. 23, 2009. 

Louis was born and raised in Slidell to the late Patrick and Olivia Torregano

He worked as a master carpenter for 25 years in the Slidell and New Orleans 
area. After suffering a long terminal illness, his battle came to an end.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday Dec. 5 at St. Margaret Mary 
Catholic Church, 1050 Robert Blvd., Slidell. Visitation will being at 9 a.m. 
The 
eulogy will be by the Rev. Jose Roel Lungay.

Jesus (Jessi) Alberto Barreiro passed away on November 29, 2009 at the age of 
45. 

Beloved husband of 17 years to Shannon LeBlanc Barreiro. Loving father of 
Jessi, Alec, Brandon, Reed, and Cami. Son of Darwin and Clara Barrios. Brother 
of Evelyn Aucoin, uncle of many nephews and nieces. Beloved son-in-law of 
Vincent LeBlanc and Jeanette Guthrie. 

Jessi was a dedicated coach and mentor for young athletes participating in 
basketball and baseball at Pelican Park and PARD Playground. 

He will be sadly missed by friends and family, and was a friend to all he met.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 5, 2009 at St. 
Rosalie Catholic Church located at 600 Second Avenue, Harvey, Louisiana 70058 

A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following the mass at the Church 
Hall.

Elaine Melancon Steimle passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at the age of 
90.

Beloved wife of the late Bernard E. Steimle. Loving mother of Ronald E. 
Steimle. She is also survived by four grandsons and one great-grandson.

She was a native of New Orleans, a resident of the Northshore since 1968 and 
was a retired Federal employee.

Louis Robert Dendinger, current resident of Hammond, passed away in the early 
morning hours of November 30, 2009 in his home at the age of 62. Louis was a 
lifelong resident of the New Orleans area. He was born in New Orleans on May 2, 
1947 and grew up in the 9th Ward until marrying and raising his family in the 
Covington area. He is survived by his wife, Kay Fallon, two children, Jerry 
Dendinger and Jennifer Patterson, and eight grandchildren. The grandchildren 
are Joshua, Christopher, Alex, Jonathan, Rebecca, Emily, Adam and Evan. Jerry 
and Mallory Dendinger currently reside in Lebanon, Ohio while Jennifer and Trey 
Patterson reside in Cumming, Georgia. Louis is also survived by his wife's 
family - daughter Caitlin, son Cassady and his wife Heather and their son 
Sebastian. He also leaves behind innumerable friends and family.

Louis is the son of the late Louis and Octavia Dendinger also of New Orleans. 
Louis is a graduate of Nicholls High School and the University of New Orleans. 
He served as an accountant and CPA for forty years serving clients all over the 
Northshore.

His life was full and active. Louis was athletic all his life from baseball as 
a youth and then a competitive weight lifter (Olympic Lifts) through the 70's. 
In the 80's Louis became an avid runner competing in races all over the New 
Orleans area until the mid 90's when he had to limit his activity due to a knee 
replacement. Louis and friends annually ran in the Azalea Trail, Crescent City 
Classic and Turkey Day Run.

The last 10 years of his life, consisted of frequent travel to visit 
grandchildren. He also traveled internationally on mission trips with son Jerry 
to Spain and Kenya. Louis and Kay started a new life within the world of Jazz 
music and dancing. Louis became an outstanding dancer that was admired by all 
who saw him.

The funeral service will be held on December 4th at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home 
on 21st Ave. in Covington. The viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the 
service at 12:00.

ENGLAND, ELOISE WOOTEN 
(June 1, 1922 - November 30, 2009)

Eloise Wooten England went to Heaven peacefully on November 30th 2009 with 
family and friends at her bedside at the age of 87.

Butch (as she was commonly known) was a resident of Hattiesburg, Ms for most of 
her life. She worked as a legal secretary for Tomas Law Office until her 
retirement. The past three years she resided at Wynnwood Assisted Living in 
Mandeville, La., where she was lovingly cared for by all especially Ella, Kim, 
Beverly, and Mike. She touched the hearts of everyone who knew her and lived 
life to the fullest.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband. C. W. England, Jr., her 
mother Ouida Griffin Wooten, her father Sam Wooten, her sister Sammie Dillard 
and brother Jack Wade Wooten. She is the loving mother of Belinda England Cline 
and Marta England Bragg and their spouses. She is the proud grandmother of 
Nichole, Elizabeth, Brian, Nathan, Rose, Ruthie and Christie. She is the great-
grandmother of 10 and great great-grandmother of 1.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation from 
10:00 am to 11:00am and the memorial service at 11on Friday the 4th day, 
December, 2009 at University Baptist Church, 3200 Arlington Loop, Hattiesburg, 
MS.

Our Mother, Kathleen Joyce Picou Flynn went to Heaven peacefully on November 
30th 2009 at 8:55 am in her home with her children at her bedside.

She began her life's Journey August 27th, 1930 in Bayou Blue, LA. Joyce (as she 
is commonly known) graduated from Charity School of Nursing in New Orleans, LA 
in 1949 at the young age of 18. She worked as a Registered Nurse for many years 
at Charity Hospital, in New Orleans, in the Diebert Clinic-TB ward and later 
became the Director of Nursing at St. Ann's Convalescent Home on Mehle Ave. in 
Arabi, LA. She went on to earn her Nursing Home Administrators license and 
managed Maison Hospitliere in the French Quarter for 17 years. Joyce was the 
most organized, efficient and caring RN/Administrator and was sorely missed 
when she retired. She also loved to travel with Jack, her husband, especially 
to Ireland.

She was preceded in death by: her husband of 52 wonderful years-John (Jack) 
Michael Flynn, Jr. (she was his heart), her mother-Adele J. Buchanan Picou 
Basford White, her father-Oliver Joseph Picou, Sr. and her little brother-
Oliver J. Picou, Jr.

She is survived by her seven children and their spouses; Diana F. Breen, Kathy 
F. Fresko (& Emmanuel), Kevin Flynn (& Pam), Mary F. Campo (& Nick), Patricia 
F. Parr (& Nicky), Brian Flynn (& Logan) and Michael Flynn (& Cathy). Sixteen 
grandchildren and their spouses; Bonnie, Bill (& Chantal), Anthony (& Shannon), 
Kelly, Nicky, Adam, Bridget (& Jeff), Patrick, Sean, Ryan, Devin, Mallory, 
Brendan, Brady, Bailey and Evan. Six great-grandchildren; Gabriele, Sasha, 
Therese, Mary Francis, Benjamin and Avery. Also-Moxie- her beloved Chihuahua.

Mama Joycie may God hold you in the palm of His hand until we meet again-love 
you always.

Services will be on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at St. Benedict's Catholic 
Church, 20370 Smith Rd., Covington, LA. Visitation starts at 10 am, Mass at 11 
am, followed by her burial next to her husband in the Mary Queen of Peace 
Cemetery near Terra Mariae. All are invited to celebrate Joyce's life at a 
reception in the main hall of the church.

Grandmother of Stephanie Crane, Seth (Chelsea) Crane, Brittany Punch and 
Lindsey (Josh) Mizell. Great-grandmother of Chase Crane. Sister of Clarence 
(Beatrice) Stevens, Carol Stevens, Berl (Cathy) Stevens and Glen (Judy) 
Stevens. Survived by Morris Lacroix. Step-mother of Eddie Lacroix, Timmy 
Lacroix and the late Mike Lacroix.

She was a faithful lifetime member and choir director at Savannah Branch Church 
of God.

Age 70 years. A native and a lifelong resident of Folsom, LA.
