David Joseph "Redeye" Talley, a life-long resident of Lee Road, Bush, LA passed 
away on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at the age of 55. 

David leaves behind his loving wife of 35 years, Anong Talley, and their two 
children, James and Nunda Talley. Grandfather of Caitlyn and Justin Talley. Son 
of Mary Helen Talley and Russel Talley Sr. Brother of Russel Talley Jr., Mary 
Talley, Wesley Talley Sr. and Andrew Talley. 

Known to his friends as "Redeye", David was a lifelong trucker and a devoted 
employee of David Huval Trucking. He served his country in the United States Air 
Force during the Vietnam War. David's contagious smile and love of life will 
truly be missed by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation in the Chapel of 
Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, 75212 Lee Road, Covington, LA 70435 on Saturday, 
February 6, 2010 from 2:30 pm until 6:00 pm.

U.S. Veteran Captain Charles Peck, age 74, passed peacefully at Pontchartrain 
Health Care Center under Hospice Care on February 1, 2010 at 12:10 a.m.

Beloved husband of Judi Peck for 23 years, loving step-father of Erin Halverson 
Oest-Larsen, husband Carl, and step grandfather of Lene and Kate Oest- Larsen of 
Seattle, Washington. Also survived by brother William Peck and wife Laura, step 
uncle to Adair and Eric Oesterle of California. Son-in-law of Josephine and 
Anthony Romano of Wood River Illinois. Brother- in-law of Mary Jo Buesteton and 
husband Joel, and uncle to Kyle and Sarah Buesteton of Alton, Illinois. Preceded 
in death by his parents Lloyd and Dorothy Bush Peck and brother Robert Peck.

Captain Peck was born in Joliet, Illinois in 1935, raised in Mason City Iowa and 
attended State University of Iowa, Iowa City before enlisting in the Navy. He 
earned his wings in Pensacola, Florida and was assigned to the Navy Air Station, 
North Island San Diego, California and flew with the Navy Air Force Pacific West 
off aircraft carriers. He was hired by Delta Airlines in 1963 and retired in 
1994. He proudly served his country in both the Air Force and Navy Reserve 
before his hire with Delta and until 1972.

He lived life to the fullest, was compassionate and supportive to many and loved 
by his friends. He enjoyed duck and deer hunting, but his favorite sport was 
fishing. He enjoyed spending time between his two camps in Delacroix and Port 
Eads on his boat the Sea Pecker. He was passionate about football and engaged in 
many friendly wagers during the season. Like "Buddy D" he would have loved to be 
a part of the WHO DAT NATION this season. He was a member of Airline Pilots 
Association, Gulf Coast Conservation Association, and the Delta Pioneers.

The family would like to express their most sincere thanks and gratitude to the 
Pontachartrain staff for their exceptional care and respect, untiring kindness 
and attention to Charley and his wife during his five year stay with them. A 
special thanks also, to Community Care Hospice for their care of Charley in his 
final days, and support to his wife.

His service was private but a celebration of life will be scheduled early 
summer.

James K. Chadwick Jr., of Minter City, Miss., and long time residence of 
Slidell, passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010. 

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carolyn G. Chadwick; his sons, Michael 
and Warren Chadwick; daughters, Sharon Chadwick Dominguez and Lynn Chadwick 
Hamback: brothers, Earl, Anthony and Charles Chadwick; sisters, Genell Wilkerson 
and Betty Lloyd; and nine grandchildren, Cori, Shelby, Luke, Ashley, Angel', 
Jimmy, D.J., Jeremy and Taylor. 

He was preceded in death by his parents James Sr. and Robbie Chadwick. 

A visitation will be held from 5:30-8:30 p.m. today at D.T. Williams Funeral 
Home, 67525 Louisiana Highway 41, Pearl River. 

In lieu of flowers donations are preferred to Williams Funeral Home to help 
cover funeral expenses.

Helen Mae Meyers Jenkins, a native and resident of Covington, died in the early 
morning hours of Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. She was 
born May 12, 1921, in Covington, and retired from the old AT&T Telephone Co. 
Helen loved and raised beautiful daylilies all her retired life.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Ray Jenkins of Hot Springs Village, Ark., 
Gary Stephen Jenkins of Mandeville and Thomas Eric and Brenda Jenkins of Bush; a 
daughter and son-in-law, Dolores Diane and John Randolph Carter of Madisonville; 
one sister and brother-in-law, Grace Viola (James) Jarrell; one brother and 
sister-in-law, William and Emogene Meyers of Covington; seven grandchildren, 
eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Edward, her parents, William 
and Mary Elizabeth Cox Meyers, a son, Edward William Jenkins, and granddaughter, 
Erica Noel Jenkins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at noon today in 
the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, 75212 Lee Road, Covington. Visitation 
is from 1 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial 
Gardens, Covington.

LACKEY, COMMODORE "SANDMAN" D, JR.
April 17, 1931 - February 3, 2010 	

Commodore D. "Sandman" Lackey, Jr. passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 
the age of 78. 

He was a native of Hiddenite, North Carolina and a resident of Bush, LA. 

Son of the late the late Virginia Captola Waugh Lackey and Commodore D. Lackey, 
Sr. Brother of Shirley Anita Fowler and the late Winifred Raye Harper and Wilma 
Marie Taylor. Also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends. 

Sandman retired from the U.S. Air Force as Staff Sergeant after 33 years of 
service and he was the owner/operator of Sandman Trucking Company.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of

Lovenia "Vonnie" Jenkins Spencer passed away Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010. She was 
born Aug. 20, 1929, to the late John Jackson and Lydia Syrine Jenkins and has 
been a life resident of Covington.

She is survived by one brother and a number of loving nieces and nephews.

An Eastern Star funeral rites with religious services was held Saturday at E.J. 
Fielding Funeral Home in Covington. Interment was in the Maryetta Cemetery.

Donna Webb Knight passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at the age of 63.

Beloved wife of the late James "Jimmy" Knight, Loving mother of Shawn Guy 
Courregˇ, Gregory Alan Knight, Jeffery Bryan, Deborah Ougel and the late Lisa 
Guidry, Daughter of the late Bonnie Lee Faris Webb and Guy Arthur Web. Sister of 
Rosetta Wieser, Rita Blevins and Christine Perry, Also survived by grandchildren 
Gavin, Madison, Austin, Brooke, Scotty, Rebecca, Louis, Raymond, Amber and 
Aaron.

Momma Donna will be sadly missed. Her strength in mind, heart and spirit was an 
inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Margaret Pittman Holifield born Dec. 20, 1918, went to heaven Wednesday, Feb. 3, 
2010.

Greeting her in heaven are her parents, Luther and Ada Fountaine Pittman; her 
husband, Vander Odell Holifield; son, Vander Richard Holifield; grandson, Randy 
Dale Crowe; great-grandson, Daniel Raven Crowe; brothers, Mulford Pittman, 
Harrison Pittman and Claude Pittman; and sisters Dove Welch, Minnie Ellzey, 
Aline Powell, Vallie Yates.

Missing her are her sons, Allen Holifield (daughter-in-law Mona) and Leonard 
Holifield (daughter-in-law Nikki); daughters, Mary Sawyer (son-in-law Bobbie) 
and Laura Myra Malley (son-in-law Darrell); her brother, Cliff Pittman; sister, 
Ollie Newsome; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-
grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 7-10 p.m. at D.T. Williams Funeral Home, 67525 
Louisiana Highway 41, Pearl River.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m.

Officiating will be Brother Waller and Sister Bessie.

David Joseph Noel, a mortgage broker and Covington resident, passed away on 
Saturday, February 6, 2010.

He was a native of Donaldsonville born to Lawrence J. "Buddy" and Nevil Gonzalas 
Noel on March 19, 1957. David had a love of life and sense of humor that will be 
greatly missed by all his family and numerous friends.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Catherine Timothy Noel and their 
children, Elizabeth "Grace" Noel and Timothy Lawrence Noel. He is also survived 
by his father, Lawrence J. Noel, III of Donaldsonville; sister Janet N. Tuxhorn 
and husband Jack of Lake Conroe, TX; three brothers: Allen T. "Tommy" Noel and 
wife Melissa of Donaldsonville; Lawrence J., IV of Denham Springs, Chris C. Noel 
of Conroe, TX and two nephews, Matthew Thomas and Brandon Michael Noel both of 
Baton Rouge.

The beloved son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Richard C. Timothy, Jr. of Covington, 
David was brother-in-law to Elizabeth M. Timothy of Pensacola, FL, Richard C., 
III of Houston, TX, J. Gregory of Ponchatoula and Patrick N. Timothy of 
Covington.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nevil Gonzalas Noel; paternal 
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence J. Noel, Jr. and maternal grandparents, Mr. 
and Mrs. Allen Thomas Gonzalas.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 8, 2010 at E.J. Fielding 
Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433.

Joseph John Ryan Jr., "Papa Joe" passed away at his home in Goodbee, LA on 
Friday, February 5, 2010. 

Joseph was a long time resident of Metairie, LA before retiring in St. Tammany 
Parish. 

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Harriet Nosti Ryan, 3 sons, Brad Richard 
Ryan, Terence Patrick, Richard Wood and his brother, William Wood Ryan. Also 
survived by 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his mother Emma Wood, his father Joseph John Ryan, 
his son Joseph John Ryan, III. and his sister June Ryan Applegarth.

Joseph was owner of Ryan Cabinet Shop and also drove a Jefferson Parish School 
bus for many years.

U.S. Veteran Leslie L. England, retiree and former president and founder of 
Allied Adjusters, Inc., an independent insurance adjusting firm in Baton Rouge, 
New Orleans and Metairie, Louisiana, and Detroit, Michigan, passed away on 
Saturday, February 6, 2010 at home in Beau Chene, Mandeville, Louisiana. He was 
83 years old.

Les, a United States Army veteran of World War II, 3rd Infantry Division, served 
in France and Germany. Honorably discharged from the Army in 1948, Les attended 
Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts and became affiliated with Traders 
and General Insurance Company, Dallas, Texas and Shreveport, Louisiana. He 
joined the J. Ed Morneau Insurance Claims Service in Shreveport prior to opening 
his own firm. He participated in conferences of insurance associations, was a 
member of Colonial Country Club in Harahan, Louisiana, and contributed to civic 
and cultural organizations in New Orleans. In 2001 he retired to Mandeville.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Eugenie Howes England, formerly of Dennis, 
Cape Cod, three sons, Dr. Leslie (Lee) E. England of Natchez, Mississippi, David 
A. England and his wife Thais of Oregon, John A. England of Mandeville, grandson 
James Howes England and his wife Julia of Madisonville, granddaughter Madeline 
Laura England, Washington, D.C., and great granddaughters Sophia Ann and 
Christina England of Madisonville.

Interment will be on Cape Cod in the Dennis Village Cemetery, Dennis, 
Massachusetts.

January 27, 1983 - February 6, 2010 	

Barret Lehman, age 27, of Mandeville, died peacefully at home on Saturday, 
February 6, 2010, in the presence of his family, after a long and courageous 
struggle with Ewing's Sarcoma. 

Barret is survived by his parents, Anne and Robert Lehman, his brother, Ben, his 
sister and her husband, Lisa and Keith Bertrand, a niece, Jordan Bertrand, his 
grandmothers, Yvonne Lehman and Marie Julie Lawton; his aunts and uncles, Linda 
and Lane Wharton, Richard and Judy Lehman, Roger Lehman, and Mary Pat and Don 
Landry; and his 16 first and second cousins.

Barret was born on January 27, 1983 in New Orleans, Louisiana, and grew up in 
Mandeville. As a young boy, Barret enjoyed Indian Guides with his father and 
brother, Ben. He wrestled for St. Paul's wrestling team and was a member of the 
ROTC Program at Mandeville High. Graduating from Mandeville High in 2001, he 
attended Millsaps College on a Millsaps Award Scholarship which he received 
based on his academic performance and extracurricular achievements. 

Barret's college education was interrupted when he was diagnosed with Ewing's 
Sarcoma in 2003. Despite his illness, Barret participated in his social 
fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, enjoyed summer study programs in Mexico and 
Costa Rica, drove his M3 on a coast to coast car rally while taking a short 
reprieve from his chemotherapy treatment, and in 2008, received his degree from 
Millsaps.

Barret had an encyclopedic knowledge and love of exotic cars. He also had a 
fondness for lobster, beignets, twisty doughnuts, and turtle soup. 

At home, his love was shared with Goiter, his pot bellied pig, and his two dogs, 
Paco and Scooby.

Throughout his ordeal, he always remained witty, grateful, courageous, and 
deeply concerned for all those around him.

Funeral Services are private.

His wish is that in lieu of flowers or other remembrances, ("with the exception 
of a 2010 red Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 Super Voloce"), donations be made

Gladys Louise Schech Delarosa passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2010.

Beloved wife of the late Merlin Herbert "Bill" Delarosa. Mother of Christine 
Hopson, Marlene Williams, Charlene Frosch and Ann Delarosa-Strain. Sister of 
Charles Schech, Ruth Iris Dickens, Dorothy Willems and the late Harvey Schech, 
Henrietta Beneke, Geraldine Schech, Irene Cecile Schech and Frances Gautreaux. 
Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Age 83 years. A native of Waldheim, LA, graduated from Charity School of Nursing 
and resided in New Orleans for 30 years where she was employed as a registered 
nurse at Charity Hospital on the Pediatrics Ward. She retired and returned to 
Waldheim.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service 
from Waldheim Methodist Church, 77067 Hwy 21, Covington, LA 70435 on Thursday, 
February 11, 2010 at 10:00 AM. Visitation, AT THE CHURCH, from 9:00 AM until

Leonard John Dubroc, Sr. of Covington, Louisiana, 72 years of age, passed away 
on Sunday, February 07, 2010 at 2:30 am after a long courageous battle with lung 
cancer. 

Beloved husband of Ann Burns Dubroc for 53 years. Loving father of Terri Dubroc 
Richard, husband Timothy, Leonard Dubroc, Jr., wife Diane, Gregg Dubroc, wife 
Stacy, Edward Dubroc, wife Leslie, and Eric Dubroc, wife Kelly. Grandfather of 
Megan and Justin Richard, Trey, Gabrielle, and Michaela Dubroc, Grant and Brad 
Dubroc, Raquel Dubroc and Wesley Strain, and Mia and Joel Dubroc. Brother of 
Donald Dubroc and Charlene Heikamp. 

Preceded in death by his parents, Essel Guillory Dubroc and Kirby Dubroc. 

Mr. Dubroc was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Covington, La for 
the past 16 years.

Leonard was a member of the Sheet metal Workers Union #11 for 50 years, a 
parishioner of St. Joseph Abbey, Covington, La., as well as a volunteer with the 
SJA's Pennies for Bread program. 

The family would like to express a sincere gratitude to the many friends and 
relatives for their thoughts and prayers, special friend Denise Gutnisky as well 
as Memorial Hospice for their caring support.

Beloved husband of 11 years to Pamela Wright Ducote; loving brother to Debby

Lance Ducote and Joni Likens; and nephew of Alita B. Faucheaux, who raised Glen 
after the passing of his mother. He is also survived by numerous aunt, uncles, 
cousins, friends and spiritual family from Father's House Church in Ponchatoula, 
LA. He was preceded in death by his mother, June Bradley Knight; and his step-
father, James Larue Knight.

Age 54 years, he was a native of Belize City, British Honduras, he was a 
resident of Ponchatoula, LA and former resident of Slidell, LA. He was the 
manager of Slidell Glass, Inc.

Dr. Louis J. Gallo passed away on February 7, 2010. He was born September 20, 
1924 in New Orleans to the late Joseph and Marie Passafume Gallo and has been a 
resident of Covington since 1952.

The beloved husband of the late Norma Jean Huss Gallo, he is survived by five 
children: Cynthia G. Price (Donald), Deborah G. Berris (Craig), Barry C. Gallo, 
Karen F. Gallo, Diane G. Frosch (Gerard); one brother, Joseph Gallo, Jr. (Iris) 
and nine grandchildren: Alison P. Clark, Christopher L. and William G. Price, M. 
Reid and P. Conner Berris, J. Leigh and Thomas C. Gallo, Lane K. David and G. 
Austin Frosch. He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, 
Merrill and Katherine "Kitty" Simoneaux and two grandsons, Brock L. David and 
Louis Blake Price. He is also survived by his dear friend, Jamie Rapp.

A US Naval veteran of WW II, Dr. Gallo operated a private dental practice in 
Covington for 48 years. A past president of the Louisiana Dental Association, he 
was admitted into the American and the International Colleges of Dentistry. 
Through the Knights of Columbus, The Lion's Club and his catholic faith he 
proved his love and dedication to his community. He also served the Board of 
Directors of the St. Tammany Homestead and was a member of several carnival 
krewes.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass at 
3:00 PM on Friday, February 12, 2010 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st 
Ave., Covington, LA 70433.

Visiting hours will begin Friday at 1:00 PM.

Benton "B.B." Bernard Lemoine, 78, of Slidell, passed away Wednesday Feb. 3, 
2010, at his residence.

He was the beloved husband of Ezora Mayberry Lemoine; father of Linda L. Holmes, 
Frankie D. Thibodeaux, Donna L. Vosbein (Richard) and Rachel L. Nash (James); 
brother of George Lemoine, Doug Lemoine, Marjorie Bambler, Rose Dragon and Peggy 
Bordelon; grandfather of 12 grandchildren and great-grandfather of 12 great-
grandchildren.

He was a native of Moreauville and a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. He 
retired from Kaiser Aluminum and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Violet 
where he was a former Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus.

Roland Polk, 63, of Pearl River, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010. He loved 
music and was a singer with many bands in the Pearl River and Slidell area.

He is survived by his son Roland Polk Jr.; daughters, Tonya Talley and Lisa 
Polk; three brothers Neil, Lucien and Brett Polk, 10 grandchildren, and four 
great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Griffin and Verna 
Polk; stepdaughter Jennifer Schmidt and sister Betty Ann Bunn.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the chapel of D.T. Williams 
Funeral Home, 67525 Hwy 41 Pearl River. Visitation will be Tuesday from 7-10 
p.m., and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until service time.

Interment will be in Parker Cemetery, Pearl River.

Dorothy Byrne Casper, 85, died peacefully at home Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, after a 
lengthy illness.

She was the beloved wife of Leo Casper, who was blessed to be married to her for 
57 years of unconditional love; the beloved and devoted mother of Suzanne Casper 
and Glen Casper; and sister of Ann Franzen, Gladys Spencer, Gloria Brown and 
Joyce Gauthier.

She was proud of her Irish heritage. She was a native of New Orleans and a 
resident of Pearl River. God created a perfect wife and mother who was 
beautiful, compassionate, understanding, virtuous, patient, devoted, honest, 
unselfish and would sacrifice her needs and plans for her husband and children. 
God now welcomes her back from her journey through life, her loving and giving 
nature will be remembered by family and friends. Her family's love for her is 
eternal. "Life is real, life is ernest and the grave is not its goal, dust thou 
art to dust returneth was not Spoken of the soul."

Norma Iris Boyle Donnell, 88, passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010.

Francis (Dutch) Louis Duchmann passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 9, 
2010 with his Beloved wife by his side at their home in Covington, LA. 

At the age of 74, Dutch lost his long courageous battle with Lung Cancer. 

He is survived by his wife Dee Thibodeaux-Duchmann, 2 sisters Doris Mae 
Saulsberry and Margaret Ann Wyrick, 1 brother Kenneth Duchmann, 2 daughters, 1 
son, and his much loved grandsons Matthew and Joshua Duchmann. Paw-Paw Dutch 
will be sadly missed by Nicole and Angelle Tymon and Taylor Cressionnie. Nieces, 
Nephews, Friends, and a host of Loved Ones from his extended family will also 
miss him. 

Preceded in death by his Mother Mary Mable Guttierrez and his Father Emile Louis

Edward James Gay III, 70, husband of Julie Bartlett Gay, passed away Saturday 
Feb. 6, 2010. 

He was born on March 24, 1939, and was the son of Edward J. Gay Jr. and Marie 
Louise Tobin Moore.

He is survived by son, Edward James Gay IV of Berlin; and a daughter, Virginia 
Tobin Gay Lubkowitz, of Richmond, Vt.; two stepsons, L. Harriss Morrison III of 
Paris and Julian C. Morrison; and a brother, Fenner E. Gay (Nancy) of Covington. 
He is also survived by four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a graduate of Isidore Newman School, Washington & Lee University and 
Tulane Law School. He received a master's degree in tax law from George 
Washington University. At Tulane he was a managing editor of the Tulane Law 
Review, a member of the Order of the Coif, a recipient of the American 
Jurisprudence Award for Constitutional Law, and the Ray Forrester Award. He was 
a partner in the law firms of Phelps, Dunbar, Marks, Claverie & Simms and Liskow 
& Lewis. He was a vice president and general counsel of Hibernia National Bank.

He served on active duty as an officer in the U.S. Army and achieved the rank of 
captain. He was a member of the Louisiana Bar Association, New Orleans Bar 
Association, Federal Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the 
Louisiana Bankers' Association.

After his retirement, he was active in Alternative Dispute Resolution through 
the American Arbitration Association and the New Orleans Bar Association. In 
1994, he was awarded the President's Award of the Louisiana Bar Association for 
his work. He was president of the Edward J. Gay Planting and Manufacturing Co. 
in Plaquemine. He was a managing partner of the Labarre Plantation Partnership, 
in New Roads. He was a member of the Boston Club, the Louisiana Club, the 
Stratford Club and various carnival organizations.

A man of many interests and talents, he was an accomplished musician, 
photographer, watercolorist and wood turner. He was an enthusiastic naturalist 
and a student of philosophy and world religions.

A private memorial service will be held Saturday at St. Louis Plantation in 
Plaquemine.

Edward Kratzer, 91, passed away Saturday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Live Oak Village in 
Slidell.

He was the beloved husband of the late Arlene Kratzer; father of Casilla Riegle, 
Eddine Csulik, Edward Kratzer and Elizabeth Miller; and son of the late Edward 
and Rachel Kratzer. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 11 great-
grandchildren.

He was a native of Allentown, Pa., and a resident of Slidell for the past 17 
years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

A graveside service will be held in Trexlertown, Pa., at a later date.

He shared a cabinet making company with his father, which he later inherited and

Katherine Wyatt Stine, 87, passed away Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at Wilson N. Jones 
Medical Center in Sherman, Texas. 

She was born July 11, 1922, in West Fork, Ark., to William and Mary Elizabeth 
(Tustison) Wyatt. Katherine graduated from the University of Arkansas with a 
degree in economics. She married Edward V. Stine Jan. 27, 1947, and was a 
homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, the Rev. Stephen B. Stine and wife, Laurie of Tyler, 
Texas, and Stuart Stine and wife, Sue of Slidell; a daughter, Stephanie Dickson 
and husband, Jerry of Whitesboro, Texas; two sisters, Jodi Tollefson of Turlock, 
Calif., and Mary Frances Carter of Fayetteville, Ark.; a granddaughter, Jody 
Dickson of Krugerville, Texas; and five grandsons, John Dickson and wife, Mary 
of Allen, Texas, Samuel Stine and Trevor Stine of Baton Rouge, Zachery Stine of 
Slidell, and Danny Stine of Austin, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Graveside services were yesterday at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas with the 
Rev. Stephen B. Stine, son of the deceased, officiating. 

Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. 

Her grandsons were the pallbearers.

William Carl Schroeder Jr., 52, passed away Friday, Feb. 5, 2010.

He was the son of William and Patricia C. Schroeder Sr. of Bella Vista Ark., and

Hathaway, Tina Robertson, Terri Stewart, John Schroeder and Angela Snodgrass;

He as a native of Macon Ga., and a resident of Slidell for the past 41 years. He 
was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Slidell No. 2038.

Frances Yanosky, 91, passed away peacefully at The Oaks of Carolina, Sunday, 
Feb. 7, 2010. 

Frances was born in Arona, Pa., to Ignatz and Mary Zalloker March 6, 1918, and 
was a longtime resident of Lacombe until relocating to Pittsboro, N.C., in 2005.

Frances "Granny" shared her love through her many talents but most of all 
through her sewing and quilting. This was her passion and special gift.

Frances is survived by her grandchildren, Joe Yanosky (wife, Tina) of Salem, 
Va., Jim Yanosky (wife Stacey) of Mandeville, John Yanosky of New Orleans, 
Joanne Y. Travis (husband Jimmy) of Pittsboro, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Robin 
Yanosky, Joey Yanosky, Jayme Yanosky, Sutton Yanosky, Jensen Yanosky, Steele 
Yanosky, Jace Yanosky and Justin Travis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Yanosky Sr. in 1980; and her 
son, Joseph Yanosky Jr. "Pops" in 2006.

Arleen Sartin Price passed away peacefully and gracefully from this world on 
Thursday, February 11, 2010, at 2:00 pm, at the age of 83. 

Loving mother of Dianne P. Barber (Richard) and Beverly P. Bonvillain (Eddie). 
Daughter of the late Rev. Felix L. and Roxie Clarady Sartin. Sister of Elevee 
Holmes, Janette Breithaupt, Gerald Sartin, and the late Rev. Levon Sartin. 
Grandmother of Renee D. Barber, Martial Bonvillain (Lacey), and Krystal 
Szalajeski (Kenneth). Arleen was a native of Jayess, Mississippi and a resident 
of Covington, LA.

Arleen was a loving and compassionate individual who always put the wishes and 
desires of others above her own and was much respected by those who knew and 
loved her. She will be greatly missed.

The family would like to especially thank the many friends and family for 
brightening Arleen's day with numerous cards, calls, and visits. Also, special 
thanks to the Forest Manor staff and to Rev. Wayne Grant for his prayers and 
visits helping Arleen through especially tough days.

Norma Lee Moffitt Callihan, 79, of Lake Charles, passed away Monday, Feb. 8, 
2010, in a local hospital. She was born in Crowley, where she was raised before 
moving to Sulphur and Lake Charles.  She was a graduate of LaGrange Senior High 
School. She worked her younger years as a secretary for a local laundry.  

Callihan also worked as an accounts receivable clerk for more than years before 
retiring with the City of Lake Charles Water Division. She enjoyed being a 
housewife, taking care of her family and her home.  She enjoyed reading, 
cooking, cookbooks, watching cooking shows and experimental cooking.  She 
especially loved animals, always having a pet to pamper, neighborhood animals to 
feed, and she was a supporter of the National Humane Society.  

She was a member of University United Methodist Church where she was a 
Primetimer.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 55 years, C.L. Callihan of Lake 
Charles; one son, Mark L. Callihan and wife Esther of Fort Worth, Texas; one 
daughter, Teddy Jean Newman of Maurice; one sister, Cynthia Loar and husband 
Gene of Lake Charles; one brother-in- law, Douglas E. Callihan of Richardson, 
Texas; two sisters-in-law, Mary Louise West and husband Harold of Hammond and 
Betty Ruth Esquinance and Paul of Mandeville; plus many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edna Moffitt Smith and Harry Moffitt; 
and one sister, Patricia Gail O'Kelley.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St., 
Lake Charles.  The Rev. Charlie Langford will officiate. Visitation is from 8 
a.m. to 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens.

Joseph John Falgoust, age 58, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2010.

Mr. Falgoust was born on May 14, 1951 in Carbondale, PA and was a lifelong 
resident of New Orleans. He was the son of the late John P. Falgoust and 
Elizabeth Manarchick Falgoust Aucoin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife, Patricia Murphy 
Falgoust. Survivors include one daughter, Morgan E. Falgoust; one son, Nicholas 
Mauer and wife, Ashleigh; three sisters, Rosalie F. Joyce, Bette F. Riccardo and 
Florence F. Beavers (husband Jerry); and one brother, William M. Falgoust (wife 
Donna). Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at Saint Stephens 
Catholic Church, 1025 Napoleon Ave., New Orleans, LA on Friday, February 19,

Muriel Jones Whittlesey, 72, of Covington, passed away with her family by her 
side Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, after a battle with cancer.

Muriel was born in Sioux City, Iowa, July 26, 1937. She grew up in Whiting, 
Iowa, attended college at Iowa State University and attended graduate school at 
Kansas State University. She will always be remembered as a person who gave more 
of herself than she expected of others. She was devoted to the United Church of 
Christ in Onawa, Iowa, and to the PEO Sisterhood Chapters of Onawa, and 
Covington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Vivien Jones; and her 
second husband, Jerry Whittlesey.

She is survived by her daughter, Andrea Morgan of Seattle; and her son, Barry 
Morgan, his wife Marcia; and grandson, Caden of Edina, Minn. Muriel is also 
survived by her extended family, stepdaughter Cara (Whittlesey) Barras and her 
family of Covington, and stepdaughter Kristen (Whittlesey) Turner of Cordova, 
Tenn.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. today at Edina Morningside Community 
Church, 4201 Morningside Road, Edina, Minn. She will be laid to rest in Onawa at 
a date yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to PEO 
Chapter BE Local Scholar Memorial Fund (c/o Delitha Lane, 16 Country Club Park,

Theresa Ducote Elliott passed away on Saturday February 13, 2010 at the age of 
93. 

Born in Bayou Jacque, LA. and a resident of Mandeville, LA for the past 10 
years. 

Daughter of the late Aline Rabalais & Cleveland Ducote. Theresa is the loving 
mother of the late Gene Travasos and Patricia Potter and grandmother of the late 
Eva Travasos. 

Survivors include a loving son Michael Potter, grandchildren, Gordon, Eric, 
Cynthia, Michael and Kerry. Theresa is also the great grandmother of 13 and 
great-great grandmother of 5. 

Theresa will be remembered by many for her strength, generosity, and giving 
nature. Well known for making quilts for family, friends, and the elderly.

April 18, 1927 - February 13, 2010 	

FRADELLA Frank C. Fradella, life long resident of Gretna, passed away on 
Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the age of 82. Mr. 

Fradella was born in Houma, son of the late Leo and Darlene Fradella. 

He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years Sally Ann Thomas; 5 children, 
Lisa, L. Casey (Valerie), Sand A., Frank T. and Rory E. (Cassie) Fradella; 6 
grandchildren; Celeste, Amanda, Frank and Christopher Relle and Garrett and 
Gabriel Fradella, also survived by his sister Josephine F. Haulk, one niece and 
two nephews. 

Mr. Fradella served honorably in the United States Marine Corps and was a 
veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a Real Estate Broker, 
Appraiser and served for 26 years as a founding board member of the Parish of 
Jefferson Home Mortgage Authority. He was a faithful parishioner and proud 
patron in the development of the new St. Anthony Catholic Church and alumnus of 
Gretna High School Class of 1944. 

Mr. Fradella will be fondly remembered for his integrity, principals and love of 
family. His handshake was his word and he was an admirable and true friend to 
all those who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass at St. Anthony 
Church, Gretna, (corner of Franklin and Burmaster St.) on Wednesday, February 
24, at Noon. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at All

Blanche Taylor McGrath, a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, a 
native of Slidell and a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away at 2:30 a.m. 
Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at Sherwood Manor Nursing Home in Baton Rouge at the 
age of 87.

She was with the Louisiana Department of Tourism during the 1984 World's Fair, 
and in the late 1960's, she was the head seamstress at Gus Mayers in Beaumont, 
Texas, and was a member of the Apple Pie Ridge Homemakers and a pokeno club.

She is survived by daughters, Amanda Susan McGrath and Muriel Elizabeth Elliott; 
sons, Robert Louis McGrath and Michael Edward McGrath; brother, Henry Robert 
Taylor Jr.; grandchildren, Dawn Moran, Jacqueline McGrath, Heather McGrath, 
James R. McGrath, James Ian McGrath, Shannon Mejia-Flores, Brandy Rhorer, Molly 
McGrath and Michael McGrath; great-grandchildren, Eric Moran, Katelin Moran, 
Armani Kittiraj, Sierra Phillips, Gabriella Mejia-Flores, Weston James McGrath, 
Tabitha Neumyr and Samantha Neumyr.

She was preceded in death by husband, Herbert James McGrath Sr.; parents, Henry 
Robert and Zelma Taylor Sr.; son, Herbert James McGrath Jr.; and sister, Bessie

U.S. Veteran Charles Julius "Butch" Strain, Jr. passed away on Monday, February 
15, 2010.

Beloved husband of Carolyn Cleland Strain for the past 53 years; father of Chuck 
Strain and his wife Regina, La. Commissioner of Agriculture Mike Strain and his 
wife Susan, and Ann Strain; grandfather to Michael, Melissa, Jessica, Amanda, 
Tommy and Jonathan; and great-grandfather to Allison and Emmerie. He is also 
survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, 
Hilda Marange Strain; his father, Charles Julius "Charlie" Strain, Sr.; and his 
brother Rodney Jack Strain, Sr.

Age 72 years, Butch was a 5th generation native and lifelong resident of Abita 
Springs, LA. A 3rd generation cattleman, he owned and operated with his brother 
Jack, Strain Cattle Company in St. Tammany and Plaquemine Parishes. He was also 
a retired member of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Department. He was a member 
of the National Cattleman's Association and the Louisiana Cattleman's 
Association.

Burial on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 12:00 Noon at St. Jane de Chantal

Gertrude F. Aldridge, 89, of Slidell, died at home Feb. 8, 2010.

She is survived by daughters, Theresa Aldridge Landreth (Mark) and Lisa 
Aldridge; son Philip Aldridge (Stephanie); grandchildren Katie and Kirby, and 
sisters, Theresa Fertitta, Frances Groseclose and Mary Marshall.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Burch Aldridge; sister 
Pauline Allen and brother Joseph Fertitta.  

She was born on Aug. 18, 1920 in Hattiesburg, Miss., to Sam and Gertrude 
Fertitta. She graduated from Hattiesburg High School and then entered the work 
force. While working at Camp Shelby in Hattiesburg during the war, she met and 
married Burch Aldridge. She later worked for the Pure Oil Company for ten years 
before devoting her full time to her family. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and 
being at home with her family.

Mrs. Aldridge was a resourceful and determined woman who loved to laugh, and 
will be greatly missed.

Robert Donald Brown, 47, was called to join our Lord Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010.

He was the beloved son of Mamie Brown and the late Aubrey Donald Brown. Robert 
is survived by his sisters, Audrey Garrity (Michael Garrity), Pat Martin (Ronald 
Martin) Carol Theall (David Theall) and the late Becky Daniels (Bruce Daniels). 
He is also survived by his life partner of 23 years, Joseph Cotton, plus 
numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert was born in Chalmette and lived in Slidell for the past 38 years. He was 
a graduate of Slidell High School. He was a hairdresser by trade and loved 
everyone he came into contact with. He lived for his family and friends, making 
sure they were happy and taken care of. He always made the room happy and funny. 
Robert had a fondness for the casinos. He also loved to be spoiled. 

Robert's wishes were not to have a service or memorial but for all his loving 
friends and family to remember him for how he touched our lives. In lieu of 
flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph Hospice, 19405 Helenbury Road No.

Allen G. Clements, 86, of Pearl River, passed away Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at the 
Louisiana Heart Hospital in Lacombe. 

He was the beloved husband of Gloria Lowrie Clements for the past 59 1/2 years; 
loving father of Karen Clements Roberts, John W. Clements and wife Julie, and 
Thomas A. Clements and wife Shari; son of the late William W. Clements and Alice 
Sharp Clements; brother of Juanita Chanove and late husband Tommy, Sr. and 
Rossie McGehee and husband Jim.

He is also survived by four grandchildren, Taylor, Patricia, Mollie and Laura 
Clements. He was a native of Houltonville, and a resident of Pearl River for the 
past 41 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II under 
Gen. George S. Patton and was involved in the Normandy invasion.

He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.

As a graduate of Southeastern University, Mr. Clements was a history teacher at 
University Military School in Mobile, Ala., and history and English Teacher at 
the 6th Ward School in Pearl River, and the 5th Ward School in Bush. He retired 
as a rural postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Christ 
Episcopal Church in Slidell since 1947.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services at 10 
a.m. Friday at Christ Episcopal Church, 1534 7th St., Slidell. Visitation is 
from 5-9 p.m. tomorrow at the church, and again from 9 a.m. until service time

Age 86 years, he was a native and lifelong resident of Covington, LA. He was a 
World War II veteran having served in the United States Army.

Mary Lou Knecht Hahn passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2010.

Beloved mother of Mayvon Porter, Herbeth Howell, Herbert Hahn, Jr. and Maybeth 
Hahn; mother-in-law to Wesley Howell; grandmother to Wesley, Jr., Matthew, Beth, 
Stacey, Trey and Jeffrey; and great-grandmother to Emma, Marybeth, Bryce, 
Danielle, Trevor, Tabetha, Wesley, III, Jocelin, Thomas, Akin Kaya, Hailey, 
Trent and Jeffrey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Hahn, Sr.; 
her mother, Gertrude Bonewitz Knecht; her father, William Edward Knecht; a 
grandson, William Howell; a son-in-law, James Arthur Porter; and her sisters, 
Thesel Camel, Rosemary McKenna, Gertrude McCann Prevost and Arelia Owen.

Family, friends and strangers all knew Mary Lou as a caregiver, Age 96 years, 
she was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Mandeville, LA for the 
past 44 years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to Celebrate the Mass of 
Christian Burial on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the 
Lake Catholic Church, 312 Lafitte St., Mandeville, LA 70448.

Visitation AT THE CHURCH on Saturday will begin at 10:00 AM.

Interment will follow in the Mandeville Cemetery.

Jewel W. Lambert passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at the age of 92. She 
was preceded in death by her husband Valentine A. Lambert; her youngest son 
Melvin Cauble; and parents, Susan Louise Conerly Wheat and Joseph B. Wheat.

She is survived by her oldest son Alfred L. Lambert of VA; twelve grandchildren; 
fifteen great-grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Ring Malasovich, 81, of Slidell, passed away Friday, Feb. 12, 2010. 

She was the beloved wife of the late Charles J. Malasovich; mother of Rickie C. 
Malasovich, Sr. and the late Val C. Malasovich Sr.; mother-in-law of Haralyn 
Malasovich, Darleen Malasovich and Darlene Porche and grandmother of seven 
grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was native and longtime resident of New Orleans, and resident of Slidell for 
the past 11 years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial services 
at 8 p.m. today at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. W. (in Forest Lawn

Bernard Francis Smith passed away on February 16, 2010. He was born August 11, 
1943 in New Orleans to the late James Garfield Smith and Helen Vielee Harrison 
and has been a resident of Covington since 1975.

The beloved husband of Patsy Gaspard Smith, he is survived by three children: 
Tonia S. Crockett (Robert), Bernard F. Smith, Jr. (Rita) and Michelle S. 
Langford (Kenny); his brother, Joseph Dixon; five grandchildren: Erick Sharp 
(Tracey), Robbie Crockett, Shelby and Cameron Langford, Keegan Smith; two great-
grandchildren, Kaylee and Brennan Sharp. He was preceded in death by his sister, 
Helen "Bobbie" Jones. He is Godfather to Crystal Bratchie, Arita Bohannan and 
Ariel Sellers.

Maribess Temple Stokes passed away on Feb. 17, 2010. 

She was born in Minden, LA on June 7, 1922. Parents were Felix and Becky Temple. 

She was a graduate of Hallsville, TX High School and attended Centenary College 
in Shreveport and Texas State College for Women in Denton, TX. During World War 
II she married Everette L. Stokes on Feb 7, 1943, at University Baptist Church 
in Baltimore, MD. While he was overseas in the Navy she worked as a secretary 
for the Office of Naval Intelligence and also at MGM Film Studios. After the war 
they resided in San Francisco until he concluded naval service, when they 
returned to Louisiana. In Shreveport while Everette worked for United Gas (later 
Pennzoil) she provided a loving home for him and their two daughters, Beverly 
and Susan. They also resided in Jackson, MS, Pensacola, FL, and Houston, TX. In 
1986 she and Everette moved to Mandeville to be near Susan and her husband, Dr. 
B. Steele Rolston and 5 grandchildren: Carrie Kathleen Rolston, Laney Brice 
Rolston, Lauren Rolston Jacob, Brice Steele Rolston, and Blake Stokes Rolston. 
Beverly Dawson lives in College Station, TX with her husband Professor Joseph G. 
Dawson and grandchildren Ashley Dawson Oliphant and Joseph Everette Dawson. 
Maribess enjoyed visiting with friends and family, reading novels, and was a 
devoted member of Covington's First Baptist Church. By her example she 
confirmed: "the most important thing is to be grounded in your Christian faith."

Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Covington,

Edward W. Desroche passed away peacefully on February 19, 2010. He was born 
August 11, 1938 to Josephine Graham Desroche and the late Eddie J. Desroche. A 
native of New Orleans, Eddie has been a resident of Covington since 1989.

The beloved husband of Laure Pechon Desroche, he is survived by his precious 
daughters: Caitlin G. Desroche and Melissa G. Desroche; his step-daughter, 
Michelle Morales and two brothers, Donald and Richard Desroche. He is also 
survived by two children, Lisa D. Tarride and Christopher Desroche.

The Desroche family extends their sincere appreciation to the staff at Forest 
Manor for their efforts to care for Mr. Desroche with such patience and 
kindness.

2010, at 11 a.m.

He was the beloved father of Janelle Medina of Sanford, Fla., Robert A. Marange 
Jr. of Readington, N. J., and Randy Marange, also of Readington; grandfather of 
Jacob Randy Jr., Akasha, Victor and Olivia; brother of Herbert, Russell, Andrew 
"Lester," William Wayne, Iris Motichek, Joseph, Linda Howell and Gervais 
Marange. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyril and Edna Anderson Marange; sister 
Connie Allen and brothers, Kenny and C.J.

Services were held yesterday at Serenity Funeral Home, Covington. 

Interment is at 10 a.m. today in the Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi, Miss.

Arthur J. "Buddy" Montgomery, III passed away on February 19, 2010. He was born 
November 7, 1947 in New Orleans to the late Arthur J., Jr. and Mildred Simoneaux 
Montgomery and has been a resident of Covington since 1959.

He is the beloved husband of Jackie Walker Montgomery and from this marriage two 
daughters were born: Shanna M. Langenbeck (Jonah) and Sayward Montgomery. He is 
also survived by his son from a previous marriage, Jamie Montgomery (Susie); two 
sisters, Kathleen Montgomery and June M. Miller (Carlos); his brother, Donald 
Montgomery (Angela) and four grandchildren: Maison and Marlee Montgomery, 
Grayson Nail and Avery Montgomery, with baby girl Langenbeck due in a few short 
weeks.

offered prayers and support during Buddy's illness.

Joseph Rancatore, 85, of Slidell, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at 
Slidell Memorial Hospital due to lung cancer.

He was the beloved husband of the late Nora Samrow Rancatore; son of the late 
John Rancatore and Rosemarie Macaluso Rancatore; father Of John Rancatore, 
Elenora E. Burckel, and the late Joseph Charles Rancatore; father-in-law of 
Jerry Burckel; grandfather of Jerry and Nicholas Burckel and Jamie, Lisa and 
Courtney Marie Rancatore; great-grandfather Of Parker and Peyton Burckel, 
Kendall and Wyatt Burckel and brother of Paul Rancatore, the late Frank, Mary, 
Rose, Anthony and John Rancatore.

Rancatore was the former owner of The Peanut Butter and Jelly Day Care in New 
Orleans and was a member of Local 11 Sheetmetal Workers Union. He was a former 
member of the H.B.P.A. Horse Breeding and Racing Association, Senior Bowling 
League and a parishoner of St.Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church.

He was gentle and loving to his wife and family and will be sadly missed by all 
whom he touched with his kindness.

is survived by three brothers, Gary (Sylvia) Raymond, Kevin (Rebbie) Raymond, 
and Scott Raymond; one sister, Edna Penton and many nieces and nephews.

Mae Bell Singletary Sones, 90, of Pearl River, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 16, 
2010. 

She was a housewife and owner/operator of Mae's Grocery in Hickory and a member

She is survived by her son, Donald Ray Singletary and wife Dot; daughter-in-law 
Claudia (Tootsie) Singletary; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Singletary; her second 
husband, Elder Johnny Sones; her son Eddie Ronald "Red" Singletary; and her

Edgar.

Kennett B. Whelchel on February 19, 2010. 

Beloved wife of Charles M. Whelchel was born in Gadsden, Alabama and was the 
only daughter of Russell and Jessie McDill Brengelman. She attended Gadsden 
Business College and worked for the law offices of Summersill and Summersill, 
Jacksonville North Carolina and Hanby and Stivender in Gadsden, Alabama. She was 
active in the Parents Association of Clairborne, Capdu, Kennedy and Clifton L. 
Ganus Schools. She lived in Gentilly Woods for thirty-seven years, moving to 
Slidell in 1999. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Slidell, 
LA.

Mrs. Whelchel is survived by her husband of 57 years and her four children, 
Dayna Balga, Summerville, SC, David Whelchel of Lacombe,LA, Debbie Hocevar and 
son-in-law, Alexis Hocevar of Covington,LA, Donna Bissel and son-in-law, Todd 
Bissel of Covington, La. She has seven grandchildren, Mike, Bryan, and Jessica 
Balga of Summerville, SC, Olivia and Benjamin Hocevar and Mandie and Emily 
Bissel all of Covington, La., two great grandchildren, Kylie and Preston Balga, 
and one brother, Russell McDill Brengelman of Morehead, KY.

BOOTS

Margaret Todd Boots, 90, passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at the Louisiana 
Heart Hospital in Lacombe.

She was the beloved wife of John M. Boots for the past 67 years; beloved mother 
of Susan Boots, Kate Hess and the late John E. Boots. She is also survived by 
one grandson, James Hess, and is preceded in death by three sisters.

Mrs. Boots was a native of New Jersey and a resident of Slidell for the past 31 
years. She was an alumna of the Art Students League in New York and was a 
professional sculptor and member of the Slidell Art League.

A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Boots in the near future. Contact

Steven Bozant Sr., 51, passed away Thursday Feb. 11, 2010.

He is survived by a son, Steven Bozant Jr.; his parents, Gabriel F. and Rita 
Bozant; his siblings, Robert K. Bozant, Cheryl B. Hallal, B. Mark Bozant, Bruce 
D. Bozant and Paul B. Bozant and two grandchildren, Hayleigh and Shelby Bozant.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Nicolle A. Bozant.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Saints Peter and Paul 
Church, 66192 St. Mary Drive, Pearl River. Interment will be in St. Louis 
Cemetery No. 3, New Orleans, following the memorial.

Molly Erickson Sellman passed away peacefully on February 22, 2010, following a 
long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Born in Wilmar, Minnesota on December 10th, 1937, she was the beloved wife of 
Ronald G. Sellman, the devoted mother of Ann Harper (Grady) of Covington, 
Louisiana and Eric Sellman of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, sister of Sally Askelson 
of Irvine, California, and grandmother of Hayden and Ellie Harper of Covington. 
Molly was the daughter of the late William Jennings Erickson and Marjorie James 
Erickson of Wilmar, Minnesota.

She was a graduate of the University of Minnesota, and an avid alumnus of her 
Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Residing in Mandeville with her husband of 48 years, 
she also enjoyed fond memories of her family's time spent living in Baton Rouge. 
Molly brought joy and laughter to all who knew her and she will be deeply 
missed.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a memorial service 
scheduled for Saturday, March 20, 2010, 12:00 pm at Mary, Queen of Peace 
Catholic Church, 1501 West Causeway Approach, Mandeville, LA.

U.S. Veteran Edward Patrick Synan, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 
at the age of 80.

Beloved husband of 50 years to Patricia Dunn Synan. Loving father of Edward 
Patrick Synan, Jr., Catherine Synan Piazza and Linda Ann Synan. Son of the late 
Henry G. Synan and Irene Cymer Synan. He is also survived by three siblings and 
eight grandchildren.

He was native of New York, NY and a resident of Mandeville, LA for the past 33 
years.

His great sense of Irish humor will be missed by his loved ones.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on 
Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1501 
W. Causeway Approach, Mandeville, LA 70471.

Interment in St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery will immediately follow the Mass.

Deward "Lee" Arnold, 80, of Bedico, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at North Oaks 
Medical Center.

He was born Tuesday, Feb. 18, 1930, in Bedico, son of the late Samuel and Vivian 
Pritchard Arnold.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anna Lee Daniel Arnold; daughter and 
son-in-law, Susan and Greg Griffin; daughters, Melissa Arnold, Alison Arnold; 
grandson, Lance Traylor; brothers, Travis Arnold, Otis Arnold, Eddie Arnold; 
sisters, Grace Mapes, Jerry Naramore, Carol Martinson; loving granddog, Max; and 
numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Bryan Arnold; grandson, Daniel Phelps; and 
his sister, Althea Perrin.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Harry McKneely & Son 
Funeral Home in Ponchatoula with the Rev. Pete Petry officiating.

Visitation is from 8-11 a.m. Interment will follow in the Arnold Cemetery in 
Bedico.

at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington.

He was the beloved husband of Catherine DiVincenti Lambert for the past 61 
years; loving father of Clarence Val Lambert Jr. and wife Michelle, Patrick 
Joseph Lambert Sr. and Josephine "JoAnn" Monteleone; son of the late Rudolph C. 
Lambert and Lydia Catherine Rose Lambert and brother of Edwina Lambert Pernicero 
and the late Buddy H. Lambert. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Missy 
Lambert Judice and husband Paul, Terry Val Lambert and wife Theresa, Cathy 
Lambert Canter and husband Bryan, Patrick Joseph Lambert Jr., Meghan Lambert 
Potters and husband Josh, Jordan Michael Lambert and wife Dawn, Elizabeth 
Katherine Monteleone and Vivianna Antoinette-Marie Lambert and 15 great-
grandchildren, Jeffrey Joseph Broussard, Christopher Charles Lambert, Grant 
Nelson Canter, Jack Alexander Judice, John Patrick Lambert, Nicholas Miller

He was a native of New Orleans, and a longtime resident of Slidell and Pearl 
River. Val was the former owner and operator of Val's Super Meat Market in 
Slidell. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

the age of 60.

Beloved husband of 30 years to Deborah Messa Lascari. Loving father of Daniel,

late Margaret Doughaen and John A. Lascari. Brother of Charles, John, Michael 
and Margaret Lascari. Grandfather of Gabriel, Ethan and Leila. Also survived by 
a host of other relatives and friends.

She is survived by four brothers and one sister.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Jocelyn Aleman Bulot, 67, lovingly known by her warm hospitality and nurturing 
heart to many as "Mama Joy," ascended into Heaven to look over her family and 
friends here on Earth, and to join loved ones who await her with Jesus Christ, 
which include her father, Delmayne J. Aleman Sr.; and her mother, Viola Mallu 
Aleman.

Joy was most beloved wife of Richard "Butch" J. Bulot Jr., whom she made her 
life with in New Orleans, St. Bernard and Slidell. Guiding light to many 
including the luckiest children of God, her devoted daughters, Angelle and 
Kristine; faithful son, Boyd; blessed son, Karl "Tank" and loving wife Lisa; 
gifted grandchildren, Nicholas, Nathan and Ashley as well as Joy and Butch's 
eldest son Richie III and his strength and wife, Beth and adoring grandchildren, 
Rick, Johnathan and Lauren.

The Rev. Junis Nathaniel Clark, 87, of Covington, passed away Friday, Feb. 19, 
2010.

He is survived by six daughters, Eva Watson of Folsom, Audrey Berry of Folsom, 
Laurie Brumfield of Hammond, Valerie Jackson of Hammond, Kathy Clark of 
Covington and Joyce Williams of Los Angeles, Calif.; one son, Brad Clark of 
Baton Rouge; two brothers, the Rev. Austin Sr. of Bogalusa and Edgar L. Clark 
Sr. of Abita Springs; plus 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Marian W. Clark; four daughters; 
five brothers; five sisters and one son-in-law.

He was a veteran having served in World War II from Jan. 22, 1943, to Dec. 9, 
1945. He served in the Pacific and earned a Pacific Campaign Medal, the Good 
Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. today at the Rosehill Missionary Baptist 
Church, 20105 Arthur Road, Covington, with a musical being performed at 6 p.m. 
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the church with the Rev. 
Austin Clark officiating. Interment will be in the Hay Hollow Cemetery, Folsom.

Leora "Dolly" Davis, 61, of Lacombe passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at the 
Louisiana Heart hospital.

She is survived by her mother, Bennie Smith; three children, Rodell Davis Jr., 
Rachael Davis and Lahoma Silas; three stepchildren, Rosie Lewis, Michael Davis 
and Rosina Davis; one sister, Francie Washington; 16 grandchildren and nine

Cecil Eugene Neal, 68, of Bay St. Louis, Miss., died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, in 
Biloxi, Miss. 

He was born in Daton, Ky., and was a former resident of Lacombe. He served in 
the U.S. Army during Vietnam and also served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was 
previously a master crane operator at Martin-Marietta.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Colley.

He is survived by four daughters, Tracy Ramsey, Taffy Neal, Sabrina Coe, and 
Victoria Leyland; a son, Harley Neal; two sisters, Peggy and Cynthia; 14 
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Private services will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors.

Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport, is in charge of

Euxenia "Jane" Rathe Gregory, 90, died peacefully at home in Christwood 
Retirement Community, Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010. She was a lifelong resident of New 
Orleans and Covington.

She was the beloved wife of the late Harbert Scott Gregory Sr.; beloved mother 
of Anne G. Gonsoulin (Tommy); Kathleen G. Newcomb (John); Mary Lee G. Levis 
(Lenny); H. Scott Gregory Jr. (Susan); and Margaret Carol Gregory; beloved 
grandmother of Elizabeth Brennan, Paul Gonsoulin, Jane Miller, Mark Gonsoulin, 
John Gonsoulin, Brent Newcomb, Alison Newcomb, Bailey Levis, Jason Levis, Sophia 
Levis, Kathryn Gregory, Colby Gregory, Joshua Dreyfus and Blair Dreyfus. She was 
the joyful great-grandmother of Cal Miller, Emma Gonsoulin and Ellie Brennan. 
She was the sister of Barbara A. Rathe and Norma R. Steele of New Orleans. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Gustave H. and Euxenia B. Rathe; her 
brothers Gustave H. Rathe, Jr. and Robert J. Rathe and her great-grandson 
Matthew G. Brennan. 

Dear to her heart were the religious of the Sacred Heart and the Academy of the 
Sacred Heart.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. tomorrow 
at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Visitation is from 
10 a.m. until service time. Interment is in Metairie Cemetery.

A memorial prayer service will be held Friday from 3-4 p.m. today at St. Anselm 
Catholic Church in Madisonville followed by a gathering at Christwood Retirement 
Community.

Joseph Rotolo Sr., 82, of Covington, passed away Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at St. 
Tammany Parish Hospital.

He was the beloved husband of Ruth Ann Grush Rotolo and by the first marriage to 
the late Patricia Strecker Rotolo; father of Susan Madeline(James), Kerry Rotolo 
(Susan), Joseph Rotolo Jr. (Kris), Janell Reda (Frank), Rod Rotolo (Debbie) and 
Keith Rotolo (Jodi); brother of Felicity Usner, Rosalie Freedman, the late Nancy 
Randazzo, Pascal Rotolo, Dominick Rotolo Jr. and Francis Becnel. He is also 
survived by 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was a native of Harvey and a 1945 graduate of St. Joseph Seminary. He served 
in the U.S. Navy as a meteorologist. He began his career with Falstaff Brewing 
Co., in New Orleans as a machinist and retired in 1985 as Vice President of 
National Operations from Heileman Brewing Co., in Perry, Ga. He was a former 
resident of Diamondhead, Miss., where he was a past president of the DHPOA. He 
was a Eucharistic minister and member of Annunciation Catholic Church, where he 
was a past president of its' Men's Club and Parish Council,

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services 
at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. W. (in Forest Lawn 
Cemetery) Slidell. Interment is in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-9 
p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time tomorrow.
