A native of the Westbank, she was born April 5, 1913 to the late James and Lidia Hingle Lytell and has been a resident of Mandeville since 1970. She was married to Joseph Milton Johnson and from this union, one son, Joseph M. Johnson was born. After Mr. Johnson's death, she married Charles Preston Brooks and from this union, one son, Robert C. Brooks was born. She is survived by her two sons; daughter-in-law, Dolores Johnson; one brother, Manuel Lytell; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; two brothers, Paul and Joseph Lytell and her sister, Sadie L. Rogers. Serving as a parishioner and with the Altar Society at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Margie was passionate in her faith. She was also a dedicated volunteer to her community through the Mandeville Ladies Club and served as an officer and member of numerous other local clubs and organizations. Until recently she put countless miles on her car delivering "meals on wheels" to the shut-ins with VANN. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass at 12:00 Noon on Friday, July 2, 2010 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433. Visiting hours will begin Friday at 10:00 AM. Interment at Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna, LA will immediately follow mass. In lieu of flowers, masses preferred. ===================
