Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2010/st1006.htm and click on the name of interest. ========== Gwendolyn Bertrand Chambers of Picayune, Miss., passed away on the evening of June 10, 2010, from breast cancer complications. She was born in Eunice and lived in Louisiana, North Carolina, Georgia and Mississippi over her lifetime. Gwen was a dedicated first grade teacher for over 40 years, mainly in Slidell and Hapeville, Ga. She enjoyed life to the fullest, and her life revolved around her family and many friends. She was a devout Catholic and is now at peace with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents Aswell and Anna Belle Bertrand. She is survived by her husband, Thomas J. Chambers; three daughters; Monica Chambers Arms (Stephen), Karla Chambers Abney (Charlie), and Dara Chambers Guiterrez (Felipe), and five grandchildren; Wesley and Emily Abney and Madeline, Bradley and Julianna Arms. She is also survived by five brothers; Frank Bertrand, John Bertrand, Newton Bertrand, Willis Bertrand, and Richard Bertrand, along with many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and 14 nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Snyder officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Slidell. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Susan G. Komen for the Cure for Breast Cancer. Arrangements are under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home. ===================
