She was the beloved wife of William Timothy Luers for the past 20 years; dearest daughter of Marian L. Eggerton and the late Robert E. Eggerton and precious sister of Robert E. "Chip" Eggerton Jr. and his life partner Eric Brauner. April was also the daughter-in-law of the late Jerri Roberts and granddaughter of the late Lt. Col. and Mrs. Earnest Luttrell and the late Mr. and Mrs. Bryan L. Eggerton. April is survived by a host of loving relatives and friends. April was born in Midland, Texas, entered school in Durango, Colo., and finished her schooling in New Orleans after her father's business transferred him back to Louisiana. She attended Benjamin Franklin High, graduated from Kennedy High and received her B. A. from the University of New Orleans. April entered the oil and gas industry in New Orleans, transferred to Houston and subsequently joined Seismic Exchange Inc., where she achieved success in a senior marketing position. Although April loved her home and collected art and furniture for it, her true lovers were the various pets that she and Tim acquired over the years. Since childhood, there was a soft spot in April's heart for lost or abandoned furry creatures. She supported organizations that assisted in their rescue and care. This friendly, loving, caring spirit truly made our world a better place and we will miss her greatly. A memorial service for April Eggerton will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, 433 Erlanger St., Slidell. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity or your own church. ===================
