He was born in New Orleans to the late Lloyd and Pearl Mittelstaedt Lagasse. He is survived by his wife, Alison Flattmann Lagasse; children and their spouses, Wesley and Melissa Lagasse and Leigh Ann and Michael Tassin; stepchildren, Madison and Mason Hentze; sister, Joy Sanders Rigaud; and brother, Lloyd Lagasse Jr. He will also be missed by his dear aunt, Ethel Mae Van Santen, and many other loving family and friends too numerous to list. Barry was a graduate of Ridgewood Preparatory School in Metairie and Nicholls University where he was a member of TKE fraternity. In 1979, he began his career with Aries Marine and Industrial Sales Corporation where he became president and CEO in 1986 and served until his death. In the past decade, Barry had the privilege to be joined at Aries Marine by his son, Wesley Lagasse, who will continue his father's legacy of excellence in business. Barry was known for his love of life and people. He managed to live a lifetime in his 53 years. He and his wife traveled the globe and ran a successful business, but still carved out time each week to spend with family and friends. Barry loved music, the beach, and the laid back lifestyle. To honor Barry, the family would like to invite guests to wear Barry's favorite casual style shirt to the funeral instead of traditional suits. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Coving-ton. Visiting hours will begin at 9 a.m. Interment in the Theodore Dendinger Cemetery in Madisonville will immediately follow services. ===================
