J. W. "Dub" Meyers Jr., 70, of Loranger, died Saturday, June 26, 2010, at his 
residence. 

He was born on Aug. 30, 1939, in New Orleans, son of Gertrude Chadwick Meyers 
and the late Wilson Meyers Sr.

A retired contractor who took pride in his profession, he appreciated hard work 
and attention to detail - a testament to a bygone era of old school 
craftsmanship. He proudly served the St. Tammany Parish area for over 40 years.

After retirement he spent most of his time with his faithful companion, Cookie, 
by his side. They enjoyed the company of family and friends, working in the 
gardens and watching wildlife.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Penny and Dane Thomas, and 
Trudy and Chris Williams; mother, Gertrude C. Meyers; five grandchildren, 
Brittany Thomas, Jessica Thomas, Kaitlin Thomas, Megan Williams, Keaton 
Williams; former wife, Barbara Creel, and his loving companion, Cookie.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Tiffany Nicole Thomas.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral 
Home, Hammond. Friends will be received from 6-9 p.m. today and from 8-10 a.m. 
Interment will follow in the Joiner Cemetery in Loranger.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Tiffany Nicole Thomas Fund at 
Capitol One Bank.
