Joan Faye Holden Spell passed away on Friday, June 11, 2010. She was born 
October 29, 1955 in Bogalusa, LA and has been a life resident of Covington.

The beloved wife of Robert E. Spell, she is survived by one son, Michael E. 
Spell; two daughters, Shannon Spell Rider and Dawn Spell King; nine 
grandchildren: Emily Spell, Joseph Rider, Meagan Spell, Travis King, Michael 
Weston Spell, Kaitlynn Spell, Bradney Brown, Jr., Brianna Brown and Dakota 
Spell. She is also survived by her mother, Doris Martin Jenkins Holden; two 
step-sisters, Elois Jenkins, Marie Jenkins Cuny and two half-brothers, Dave and 
Joe Cedatol; one step-brother, Butch Jenkins and her birth mother, Marie Smith. 
She was preceded in death by her father, H.C. "Red" Holden.

Joan was at the top of her class at Delta College training to be an LPN and 
after graduation worked in pediatrics for 4 years at St. Tammany Parish 
Hospital. She began working as a Para-professional 6 years ago, dedicating 
herself to the children in pre-k at Lyon Elementary School. She was so loved and 
will be deeply missed.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services at 
12:00 Noon on Monday, June 14, 2010 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st 
Ave., Covington, LA 70433.

Visiting hours will begin Monday at 10:00 AM.

Interment at Sharp Cemetery on House Creek Rd. will immediately follow services.
