GILCHRIST

Norman J. Gilchrist Sr., a native of Plaquemine and a resident of Pearl River, 
passed away Monday, July 19, 2010, at the age of 81. 

He was the cherished husband of Laura Cuccia Gilchrist; loving father of Norman 
Gilchrist Jr. (Sharon), Harriet Thomas, Janice Perino, Mark and Colette 
Gilchrist, John Finch (Lauren), Lauren Parker (Jimmy); son of the late J.L. 
Gilchrist and Winnie Labauve and brother of James, William, Elmo, Ronald, Lee, 
Rita, Theresa and Yvonne. He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren and eight 
great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine Joan Gilchrist; brothers, 
J.L. Lloyd; and sister, Brenda.

He will be deeply missed by his family and by all those whose lives he touched. 
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Mass at 1 p.m. today at 
Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 66192 St. Mary Drive, Pearl River. Visitation 
is from 10:30 a.m. until service time. The Rev. Tom McCann officiating. 
Interment will follow in Hickory Memorial Gardens, 67525 Louisiana Highway 41, 
Pearl River.
