A native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Covington, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward C Hymel and Miriam Melancon Hymel; grandparents, Walter Hymel and Emma Clement Hymel and Moise Melancon and Marie Goubert Melancon, nephew, Whitney Reese Hymel. Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Don Goodworth, of Covington; son, Trevor Goodworth and wife Beth, of Orlando; daughter, Robyn Goodworth, of Covington; grandson, Austin Goodworth, of Houston; sisters, Susan Hymel Smith and spouse Ronnie, of Baton Rouge; Dawn Hymel Fontz and spouse Jeff; of Metairie brothers, Wade Hymel and spouse Dinah, of Mandeville; David Hymel and spouse Cindy, of Memphis; nephews, Dr. Jason E Smith, of Baton Rouge, and Wade D Hymel, of Hammond; and her many close and dear friends and family. Donna attended St. Leo the Great elementary school and was a member of the first graduating class of John Curtis High School. Donna's zest for life was matched only by her generous spirit. Whenever she entered the room the party started as she enjoyed making us all laugh with her many stories and cheering for her beloved New Orleans Saints. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service, Friday July 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 312 Lafitte St, Mandeville. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St Tammany Parish Humane Society. The family wishes to thank the staff, doctors and nurses in the ICU at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington for their unwavering assistance and compassion in our time of need.
