Trosclair, born March 24, 1975, was murdered sometime between Thursday, July 22, and Saturday, July 24, 2010. He is survived by his loving and devoted mother, Nancy Collier; brother, Sonny Trosclair; stepfather, Wayne A. Collier; father, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. His older brother Sonny and he were virtually raised by Nancy, the eldest of five children. She already knew a lot about raising a family. Nancy, Ryan and Sonny were never of means, but Nancy never failed to provide all that she could. The material things were modest but the love and affection were abundant and oft times overbearing. Nancy ruled the roost and kept things together. Keeping it together became her life. Little did anyone expect that two entire lives would be spent in a lifelong struggle to recapture the joy of a child in the body of drug addict. Ryan was swallowed up like so many of the youth by the "another" world of drugs. It is no longer an underworld. Powerful deadly drugs have spewed into the mainstream. Recreational alcohol. That was the stuff of fun and frivolity for Ryan. After an alcohol-fueled incident while in Bossier City Ryan was injured and left with two broken knees. One knee worked after months of rehab. One never healed. Legs were not his problem. Ryan got addicted to prescription drugs. Ryan needed pain pills for physical pain and then for emotional pain. The spiral down was swift. Then, cocaine and heroin and his family know not what else. He died an addict. The boy died buried within him. Ryan left a patchwork of memories of an all-American boy, charming and engaging, playful and bringing joy with just a smile. Memories of a caring young man blotched by a man losing his way. He struggled and squirmed to recover. Nancy spent every waking moment hanging onto each new day for a glimmer from the spark of the boy held hostage within the addict's body. In accordance with Ryan's wishes, there will be no service or interment. His ashen remains and his eternal love and gratitude go to his mother. A private memorial will be held in the future.
