Leslie Hays Cummins, age 58, passed away quietly in her home on Tuesday, August 
17, 2010 after a brave two-year struggle with ovarian cancer. 

She was born in New Orleans and graduated with honors from St. Martin's High 
School. She attended SMU and UNO, and later became an accomplished writer, book 
editor, and professional graphic designer. For several years, she devoted her 
talents to editing UAB's Comprehensive Cancer Center Magazine in Birmingham, AL. 

Returning home to Louisiana later in life, Leslie served as the Administrative 
Assistant to the Founding Pastor (Rev. Flint Shea) of North Cross United 
Methodist Church in Madisonville. She was a Master Gardener and an avid cook 
with award winning recipes published nationally. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Janice Hays and Frank Richard Hays. 

Survivors include husband of 36 years William C. Cummins, daughters Alison 
Cummins Page (David) and Katherine Hays Robertson (Robby), and many wonderful 
friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 20, 2010 at 11:00 am at North 
Cross United Methodist Church, 311 Highway 21, Madisonville, Louisiana 70447.
