Rito, age 81 years, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at his home. Loving husband, dedicated father, grandfather and great grandfather. Surviving are Gerry, loving wife of 57 years, his children Lynn Rito Hoffman of Slidell; Alan, Slidell; Mark, New Iberia; and Daryl, Bay St. Louis along with 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A native of New York, he moved to La. In 1959. He had a 40 year career with the U. S. Navy, retiring with the Naval Reserve in 1989. Also had a successful insurance agency in Slidell and was actively affiliated with numerous industry organizations. An active member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Lacombe, he served in various groups, was Knights of Columbus Knight of the Year 2010, received J.C. award 2007. Long time member of Sons of Italy serving in various offices and assisting with charitable events. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, 61051 Brier Lake Blvd., Lacombe, LA on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 12:00PM. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00AM to 12:00PM. Graveside services will be held in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Slidell, LA on Monday afternoon at 2:30PM.
