And the end of all our exploring will be to arrive when we started and know that place for the first time.” Ricky has arrived at that place and is watching over all of us. He is orchestrating this entire process and hoping everyone will enjoy his final celebration of life. Some of his greatest adventures were traveling to spend time and do work in Sudan, Kenya and England. Ricky was a 2000 graduate of Northshore High and a 2005 graduate of the University of New Orleans, where he won three Aramark scholarships for comprehensive essays and was president of HENA. He received the “Outstanding Leadership” award for acting as the official student ambassador to recruit new students. He also spent a summer at New York University and interned at Disney World. At Disney, he was awarded two Disney Fanatic Awards for Outstanding Service and Outstanding Leadership, which was the highest award an intern can receive. Ricky was the beloved son of Richard A. Swartz Jr. and Charmaine B. Swartz of Slidell. He is survived by his sister Jamie Swartz Doming (husband Richard); nieces, Audrey and Sophia Doming; grandfather Richard A. Swartz Sr., (wife Janice); aunts, Sandra Swartz and Beverly Frey (husband Patrick); uncles, Steve Swartz (wife Diana) and Warren Bracamontes (wife Carmel) and many cousins and wonderful friends. He was preceded by grandmothers Thelma Swartz and Madge Bracamontes and grandfather John Bracamontes. His love of life will carry us on, and we will meet him at the final destination when this journey called life is done. May he live on in everyone’s thoughts for his many stories, dreams, aspirations and friendship he gave to all. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. today at Grace Memorial Baptist Church. Celebration of his life will begin at 4 p.m. A private burial for the family will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, Utah, 84741. Visit www.honakerforestlawn.com to sign guestbook. Arrangements by Honaker Funeral Home Inc., Slidell. ===================
