Cleveland Joseph Chautin Jr., 72, of Slidell, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 1, 
2010, at Slidell Memorial Hospital.

He was the beloved husband of Charleen Chautin for the past 52 years; father of 
Chet Chautin and wife Erin, Karen Goodnow and husband Spaff, Melanie Maddox and 
husband Shane and Todd Chautin and wife Cheryl. He was the son of the late 
Cleveland Sr. and Isabelle Stelly Chautin and brother of Leroy Chautin, Lee 
Charles Chautin, Joe Huguet and the late Floyd "Bobby" Chautin. He is also 
survived by six grandchildren; Zachary Goodnow, Austin Chautin, Christopher 
Goodnow, William Chautin, Brooke Chautin and Shelbi Maddox.

He was a native of LeBeau, and a resident of Slidell for the past 46 years. Mr. 
Chautin was a project manager for both T.L. James and James Construction Group 
for the past 54 years.

Funeral services were held yesterday at the First United Methodist Church, 433 
Erlanger Ave., Slidell. Chautin will be forwarded to LaFond Ardoin Funeral Home 
in Opelousas for a visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today with the funeral 
services at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Palmetto Methodist Cemetery, 
Palmetto.
